Amy was a delight! Look how easy it is to be friendly and NOT SUSPICIOUS of someone with a camera. That wise lady knew the power of promotion. Amazing that less than 5% of the people organically use the interaction to promote their businesses and their town. This was a great town. Allison was wise as well.
People are scared of their own shadows these days, throw in a camera and oh no! Seriously though Amy was quick on her feet and a great ambassador to their town. The old man with the baseball card shop was similar, he looked peeved in the beginning and turned it into a promo for his shop :)

Mental illness is difficult to watch and I feel sorry for this poor man. The retired mayor of the town was amazing and really enjoyed listening to her.

@@Canuckgirl152 should never look down on others when you don't know their story. Addiction is a fucked up pit of hell that's hard to climb out of. I've seen tons of my family suffer from it. My brother was addicted to meth for years. He climbed out of that pit of hell though and is now clean and working. But even those who want help and to change thier lives.....it's a really fucking hard mountain to climb. Those suffering from addiction shouldn't be looked down on.

I agree. It's very charming when the townspeople talk about their businesses and the town. It's refreshing after so many channels that seem to seek out conflict.
I love when someone is giving AP a hard time and people roll up "hey, we love your channel man! Keep up the good work!" And the angry person doesn't know what to do. Like, "maybe im wrong?" Pops in their head.

He wanted to deliver a messaged without standing in the pattern of a triangle for some reason. I find it interesting that when he sat down the street was empty, the cameraman walked away and when he did a 360° spin there was a car in the street. The guy gets our his car and yells "for what it's worth, I love you shit! HELL YEA!" Then throws up the rock and roll devil horns as a salute.

Amy is a Gem! I'm sure the other citizens of the town appreciate her and why she was mayor for so long. My folks grew up in that area before moving to Texas for work in the late 70's before that portion of Ohio was revitalized. All the ladies there seemed great and welcoming with those beautiful smiles. Definitely seems like a great little downtown even with someone's odd uncle showing up lol Great video guys!

Agreed! She was a nice enough person. But it also seemed like Amy might be a little unstable too. I do wish Jason had more time to talk to her since I got s strong impression that someone may have seriously abused her at some time in her past. There's just something really dark about her mannerisms. Maybe it was controlled/masked Turrets syndrome or maybe she was a former rubber room resident. It's hard to say. Whatever it is, she does seem to have it under control. I'm just saying it's not too hard to break an egg that's already _cracked._

It seems like your approach is a lot better than months ago. You let them know off the rip that you’re making a video about the town and it makes people wanna engage rather than get all pessimistic and uncomfortable. It allows people to open up about their history more! I like watching people get their panties twisted…but I love the positive engagements way more. It makes me proud to know there’s people of all generations who wanna spread kindness!

Love Jason, but unfortunately the chip on his shoulder comes out at the wrong times occasionally. Sometimes he's more willing to put up with silly questions, other times he isnt. This town brought his guard down I think, it seems wonderful

Several things I love about your videos. As a parent, you're always protecting your son, Ben. Even though he's an adult, you always step up when there's a hostile environment. Vudeographer and photographer here, mostly wildlife, but the lens you used looks fantastic. Video came out clear, in focus, smooth, and it has a cinematic feel. I use an f4 18-105 Sony G zoom lens for 99% of what I film. Love the videos my brothers. Keep it up.
Your videos should be part of the curriculum for schools so people can be educated from a young age on the 1st amendment. Also, Amy is awesome, and I’ll pray for the guy at the end.

It's not just about happiness, it's also about consideration for others. I'm generally not very happy, but I'm always cordial and courteous to other people I come across. Even though I have general depression, I certainly don't want to make my issues other people's problem.

Jason and Ben did GREAT in this video, they met and talked with a lot of the town's business owners and workers and professionally (as auditors) responded in a manner that kept most of what they were doing to themselves but also didn't come across at all as antagonistic or nasty or challenging...Jason is good at that, others with RUclips channels are learning from him. ;)
This channel is a great way to figure out where to go and where to avoid if you want to travel in America.

I’m liking Jason’s new approach. I like the travel aspect and to see the towns more than anything, letting them know it’s a travel video sooner probably causes less confrontation, but allows the channel to highlight the towns more.
It is all about how he is approached. People with genuine social skills, manners, and general respect with common curiosities. Get that info the correct way. It is true that some places make this travel video turn into 1st amendment audits. Even the 1st amendment content creators I follow on RUclips shouldn't be greeted disrespectfully. As a person concerned about constitutional rights, these audits are a public service. Don't get me wrong, some of these content creators can get out of line or push the limits to make things a problem. Which I don't approve of, but as long as they are not committing crimes, I personally don't see it being a problem.
I knew I wasn’t the only one. I never do this but I did start to feel a little bad for the guy at the end. But I find myself waiting for uploads which I never really was before, just to see the next town and what it’s like. The harsh interactions don’t fascinate me like they did a couple years ago and that’s collectively nothing to do with this channel.
