I came to realise this from a video that Nick Mavromatis did. Everyone focuses so much on the mixing when it’s only 50% of how to get a good vocal. Check out his episode on vocal production!

Hey great video! I don't really get the de clip part. Is the goal to get back to 0db after de clipping or do you adjust the makeup gain to stay at the same peak as before de clipping?

Great video! Just wondering. Do you De-Clip first and then Phase Align? I got a little confused bcuz you didn’t actually hit the “render” button on the De-Clippper, but you did when you adjusted the Phase Align 🤔

You broke it down so well but I myself still can't fit the vocal into the beat well and im trying everything and watching every video. once I gain stage my beat to -12db, after adding the plugins to the 2track beat, do i increase the gain afterwards or leave it set to -12db? i hope this makes sense
Thanks for watching! You don't have to gain stage the beat to -12dB - by the end it can be louder or have a higher amplitude. I think focusing on the sound of the overall mix rather than specific levels like -12dB etc, will be helpful!

So do we do all of this as soon as we load up the beat before recording? or do all of this AFTER we have the song fully recorded?
It would be best to record the additional parts and vocals first, then go in and apply processing.

bro the clip gain comes first, if the beat is already too loud you will be induced to record too loud and your vocals will be hot. jus take down 6db of gain. Download a VU meter to help you. I mean cuz most of those youtube beats are limited to the max volume @@flamersss

looks like a million steps just to get it to sit right. isn't their a one button plugin that can just do this?
