I think she'd like Silvera, it always reminds me of Stranded in the way that it is composed
This song was written by Mario (drummer) and Joseph Duplantier (vocalist) shortly after the passing of their mother. Alena was very close with her analysis on this one!
@@BradAlenaMetalReactions - More fun facts: the setting of this video is their mother's old studio at their house in France. She was born in the US but of Portuguese descent, her parents were from the Azores Islands, which are volcanic islands. One day she came to France to study, met the love of her life and stayed for the rest of her days. They named the album Magma and put a volcano in the middle of the ocean in the cover as a tribute to their mother. She was an artist and she taught the boys how to be artists too: Joe also plays the drums and Mario also plays guitar and paints. The girl in the video is their cousin, which apparently is an artist too. : )

If you're looking for more accessible Gojira songs, I think Global Warming [Live at the Silver Cord Studio May 2018] fits the bill. Or just jump into The Heaviest Matter of the Universe already! We both already know that this is where you're heading.

Gojira is not a band you just dig right into.Been a prog rock, prog metal fan for years, but this band took some listening. Saw them live indoor in Bergen, 2013 (?), and the band was completely unknown to me. But, after that gig I've listen alot to the "L'Enfant Sauvage" album, The "Magma". album ( where this "Stranded" is my fav track) an the resent "Fortitude-album" where "New Found" is quite similar to this one. Will fly in to Oslo, Norway for their concert January 19th 2022 for sure. Proper musicians. Thanks for shearing your reaction(s)

Cool thoughts et réaction. You're right about the unpredictibility of some parts in the structure of their songs like in the art of dying. If you want the less heavy easy listenning track from gojira it's 'the shooting star' very trippy pinkfloydian. Low lands is a cool nice track as well dedicated to their mother who died during the recording of magma. In the music video of low lands you can see the house in the woods where mario and joseph grew up in the sud de la France. A very different mellow progressive track is 'born in winter'. Btw eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, très bon film. What i took from the vid with the possessed girl is something about inner demons when you're stuck in a negative bubble, you can't seem to find a way out. If you open the door to some light you can make the cell that you created go away. Don't let yourself be controlled by negative thoughts or entities. One music video that is amazing amazing is karate by baby metal, about fighting inner demons as well. In stranded when hes talking about leaving the moment alone, i think that you go through the storm but don't stay stuck into it, you scream, cry then you have to let it go. Otherwise bad vibes wont help, they will eat u alive.
The whole album is about the death of their mother (by their I mean Jo and Mario Duplantier, the singer and the drummer are brothers and they lost their mother to cancer before the recording of this album)
