East Kent Cyclocross League Round 2 Dover. 23/10/2022

Action from the V50 (yes I'm an old git now) race from round 2 of the East Kent Cyclocross League held at Duke of York School, Dover. Or Dovaaaaa as locals say.
A great event on a fantastic course organised by VC Deal. Anyone from the Kent area thinking of racing cyclocross should come and have a go at these events.

Love in the on bike commentary. It was a top course and even worse/better conditions in the v40 race with lots of slipping and sliding .I lost two places on last lap caught up in unbreakable EKCX course tape but managed to get both places back with the other two also sliding out. The bit they took out was replaced with yes an off camber muddy section LOL

Never mess with the unbreakable EKCX tape! The conditions definitely worsened through the day as the course cut up and more rain fell. Well done for your race, it sounds like you enjoyed it!

@@jollymoller the best bit is, you are loving it. Having a laugh when racing. It reminds me of you in a Renault Clio, loaded with hundreds of kilos of water in 2l bottles. Not a care in the world

You make it look so easy at your pace! Looks nice with grass, we had the mud sliding around in the seniors.

Yes it was OK with some grass, green is grip and all that. I saw some pictures from the later races, it looked horrendous. Those off camber straights cut up a treat, and must have been so hard to ride.

@@jollymoller even the green parts on the off camber were slippery. The previous races did have the rain so we were lucky from that perspective. Not the best technical rider, it got interesting like Bambi on ice. Excellent to see your perspective of the event, how you got up all those steep climbs i dont know, was getting so much wheel spin and then stalling each attempt. Look forward to the next instalment.
