The "Auto-switching" feature is a bit misleading as the more commonly used Video Follows MIc terminology is a more transparent term. Regardless, can a "scene" be created with Rodecaster Video to perform rotating switches between cameras with the ability to set time spans for each camera angle? Can this unit perform "mix" transitions between camera switches?
Not sure why you say "auto-switching" is misleading. I find the terms "audio follows video" and "video follows audio" more difficult to understand. Yes it can do mix transitions. No there is no timed auto switching, only voice activated.
Compositing seems so much easier than on the ATEMs. Audio mixing is also looking way better! Pairing rode's wireless products! It really looks great. Autoswitching! I am super happy with the ATEM Mini Extreme Pro ISO, but this thing looks comparable and better in a lot of ways. Is there any way to bring the switching history into a NLE like final cut or premiere for post-production after the stream?
Compositing is absolutely easier with this than the ATEMs! Right now there's no extra switching history file created, but I wouldn't be surprised if they add that in a firmware update in the near future!
Yeah! You can assign multiple audio channels to a video angle and it will take that into account. You can also change the priority of each angle. I'll try to do some more demos of this with actual content soon.
If you are using both XLR inputs can you also have a wireless rode paired? On the Duo if you use both XLR inputs you can't also have a wireless Rode paired?
They understood the assignment, a hardware OBS. This is a version one, so we can see where this is going, and it sounds mad. For now, I'll stick to my stream deck+/obs , it delivers incredibly good for the total cost and versatility it does offer.
Could Rode integrate the video functionalities of the Rodecaster video into the Rodecaster Pro 2 in the next product? That would make for a killer all-in-one device, combining both video and audio capabilities. Otherwise I wouldn’t bother buying this one.
