Is Goldeneye 007 A Good Single Player Game?

- Goldeneye 007 is a game that gets a lot of praise for its legendary multiplayer, and rightfully so. But this N64 classic has more to offer than just its multiplayer and in this video, I aim to take a look at the other offerings in Rare's iconic first-person shooter.

As someone who’s never played Golden Eye, a remake of the game would definitely get me interested in trying it as poor aiming and slower frame rates are things that really hold me back when it comes to replaying older games. Great video!
We played a lot of 3 and 4 player 007. My brother and i countless hours on 2 player. And then perfect dark came out
It's crazy to me that people only think of multiplayer when they think of goldeneye. To me goldeneye is the single player, probably the only game that I play through every year at least once.
And now its rereleased on the Switch and life is good

Nice video! You made some really good points! I just played Goldeneye for the first time this year and made a video documenting my experience about a month ago! So if like you said in this video, you're interested in seeing a new players experience today, that exists on my channel (Multiplayer experience coming soon)! I didn't touch the other control schemes until after my first playthrough, but I did when going back and beating the game a second time on 00 Agent! I agree that 1.2 Solitaire controls are much better with the only thing outclassing it in my opinion being 2.2 Galore!

What a great review. All the game's strengths are highlighted. This game is the Super Mario Bros. of first-person shooters. Snow levels, industrial, ocean, jungle, sky, desert, etc. It's great. Of course, not because of the comparison but because it made getting headshots with a sniper rifle in an action movie setting the default for the FPS genre for 15 years.
If this game drops on Xbox this year, it will likely get the Perfect Dark treatment and most of the complaints will be addressed. Much better 60/120fps, remapped controls, lock sight, sight on screen, 4k resolution.
It would be nice if we got the graphics swap option the shelved XBLA version had but playing Goldeneye 64 on modern hardware is an offer I can't refuse no matter what the condition. As long as it's not that 2010 Wii version. :p
The Super Mario Bros. of FPS games is a fantastic way to describe Goldeneye!

GoldenEye levels are only a few minutes long if you're a professional speedrunner or playing on baby difficulty and have the stages memorised.
It's not the size of the level, it's how you use it.

Is goldeneye still good? not really, it was outdated by its sequel perfect dark pretty much immediately upon that games release.
But, perfect dark still holds up pretty good! its largely forgotten though unfortunately.. although this is why it still holds up because other developers pretty much ignored the path PD was heading down, including its own developer rare.
