Thanks for this. I have watched multiple comparisons and I can definitely hear the difference. The Virus TI is more gritty. Its sharper and there is a stern-ness to the lower mid range. That's missing in the emulator. It feels like there's aliasing happening there and some phasing which is making the emulator patch a tad weaker than the original. Appreciate the efforts.
Just for science. If you record a tune on both and flip the phase on one track you won‘t hear anything as frequently will cancel. Then you really know if they are same.
This software is the perfect solution to avoid using the original hardware (the worst ever). In 2009 I happily sold my VIRUS TI2 after a month of constant bugs, glitches and crashes in the studio... VIRUS TI2 was the reason ACCESS died as a company ... IMO If you turn off all the FX and post processing in the VIRUS engine it sounds small and thin.. If you judge the DRY wound of that engine other brands like Nord, Novation, Waldorf and Kurzweil create more dense and big VA sounds from the start, and if you bring external FXS, reverbs etc you get a better dense sound than the VIRUS.... VIRUS TI2 was a good idea but it didnt work and fails constantly... ACCESS never answered costumers asking for help and solutions and thats why the company close without solving ANY problem of that synth.
@@EyezerProductionz This is amazing! It will be funny if emulator encourages owners to sell real hardware. I just want to buy Virus TI at reasonable price :)
@@Resolute115 I don't think the prices will go down sadly, due to the legendary status the Virus has. Most likely, it will always be an expensive synth to buy.
@@Resolute115 I'll be keeping my Virus TI2. The reason I have for the emulator is that the hardware just never worked right with FL Studio. Always desyncing. But it's a collector's item.
@Resolute115 There is no difference aside from bugs that may yet be present in the software. But functionally, it's running the same code so unless you run into one of these it should translate identically.
To demonstrate that the emulator does what it is supposed to do, i.e emulate the Virus TI accurately. Simple as that. That may be of interest to people who are new to the Virus series and/or the emulator itself.
I’m entirely interested in a comparison. They sound almost identical in most cases. If you consider emulation of a PS1 and a PS1 emulator running in Windows… it’s often not the same.
@@DanielEdwards- Well, I'm glad you found it of value. I've already gotten 3 dislikes and had to ban one guy for being notably upset over a harmless comparison video made for fun. Imagine getting upset over a comparison video 😅
@@EyezerProductionz As someone who actively posts his live audio business on Facebook, jealousy does some odd things to people’s behaviour, that’s all I can say. Used to have a Virus C years ago. Stopped using it so much because plugins had evolved so much. Would love to actually give this Ostirus a bash.

Virus Ti2 will always be my favorite

Super amazing sounds and sound quality for FREE ❤️

so what's the difference in sound?
Almost none, if any at all. Which means the emulator does what it is supposed to do, i.e emulate the Virus TI.

what is the point of this comparision?
Ostirus runs ROM of The TI2 - it will sound identical from the start.

Agreed, although a grid browser is in the works for Ostirus, afaik.
