- Our family of 13 on a journey to Church and the Wegman's grocery store in West Village NYC. I was on a mission to find a place that had the kind of ham my mom used to make (on the bone and not precut) for Easter (I wasn't going to buy it yet, I was just planning ahead) and I figured Wegmans was the best place to find something like that so since that store is close to church we walked over there to have a look. They have some VERY fancy meat there lol... I talked to the man at the meat counter and he said they would have what I was looking for a week or so before Easter. And I'm hoping since its a seasonal item it won't be too expensive. We'll see. I'm not looking for fancy Spanish ham or anything lol. My kids are such traditionalists. They want to have what my mom always made back when we lived in San Diego. We got some snacks too and we found some of the yummiest heart shaped macarons! #largefamilylife

When I was 13 my parents took my sister and I on a big trip to America as we live in New Zealand. We arrived at the hotel in New York at midnight after many flight delays. Dad did a lot of traveling for his job but Mum hadn't. We needed to eat and my parents thought the hotel restaurant was too expensive so Dad took us down the street as we tried to keep up with him. We got a bit of an education. Mum told him what he overlooked and they got us back to the hotel restaurant very quickly.
We also went to the subway stairs just to look because they thought the subway wasn't safe. Watching you guys going on the subway with all the kids used to concern me but I can see it's not as bad as my parents had us belief.

I laughed a little at your daughter's confusion on Easter. "It used to be in April" so cute. Someone probably beat me to this comment but Easter is determined to be the first Sunday after the Pascal (Springtide) full moon. Hence the reason it is on such a variety of dates.
I actually loved the entire "ham" conversation. As a big family, I find myself explaining my thoughts multiple times a day as well.
Just enjoy seeing how the family spends time together. Like how your husband spoke French to you so sweet.

That’s right! You have to plan ahead. It’s nice how well structured you all are staying together walking to church. Then an errand. It’s great seeing a family put spiritualness in their lives. World would be better if more people did that. We go weekly too and our Lenten season started Wednesday. Wow! That meat is expensive! Is Wegmans pricey? Thanks for taking us along.
We love Wegmans! Whenever my family comes to visit us, we always eat at Wegmans at least once. They love it! Our daughter is 6 and autistic, and she loves trips to Wegmans. Also, I’m teaching her French, and she randomly starts talking to me in French or playing in French. Ha! Love your family.

We get our non-sprial cut hams at Aldi. It will be a lot cheaper than Wegman's if they have them. My Dad is in agreement with you. So we search too.

Amber you mentioned Airstream the Factory is 15 to 20 minutes ( Jackson Center) from I live currently in( Sidney) Ohio 45 minutes North of Dayton.

I hope one of your kids would consider switching to/ learning some reed instruments or brass, or i hope some of the younger ones can choose those! They already sound SO AMAZING but imagine how much more if there are other types of instruments!! Imagine playing the Jurassic Park theme song with little Mo and Netta on the French Horn 😍😍😍

I’m not crazy about spiral hams either . I love ham on the bone . I get my ham at Walmart , I’ve always had good luck with it .

No income is required for Americans at a food bank and all store holiday gets delivered for spreading joy for all. I'm very happy with such a time everyone is in to at least one month to check it out .

Next time you want an adventure after church, try The Doughnut Pub, right down the block from Wegmans and has amazingly yummy stuff. Kids will love it, as you are all doughnut fans, 😉🍩

Also look out for Beard Papa in Manhattan. It is a Japanese chain that makes french-style cream puffs. There are a few shops and the cream puffs are delicious!

Costco sells a Kirkland Signature Master Carve Half Ham (Boneless/Applewood Smoked) that averages around 4 pounds. You would probably need 2, but they are absolutely delicious! I know Aldi sells bone in ham, so Trader Joe’s probably does as well.

Another wonderful video of family adventures! A tip on the ham…see if you can order it in advance. One of my sisters is awesome with ordering things from the grocery butcher/meat department and it’s neat to see the cool cuts she gets. If you can order in advance, it’s one less thing! 😊

The cookies you bought at Wegmans are not macaroons but rather macarons.
Macaroons are a coconut-based cookie whereas macarons are made with almond flour in the shape of a sandwich cookie with a filling on the inside.
Lent us early this n that’s why Easter is early. We had a short advent as well.

Not all of the Subway stations have stairs so that’s why carrying is sometimes easier.
Sometimes our children don’t realize that we have to plan ahead of time for some things they just don’t know….😊 those meat prices are utterly ridiculous who can afford that??😮 I think I would order it online. Find you a good reliable meat company that is reasonable since you have such a big family and order you a ham it will be ridiculous there!
