What financial advantage? If you compare Wrexham with EPL or English 2nd tier league teams, they are still not a 'Rich' club. The owner simply willing to invest more in the team. Many club owners are richer than them, but it is called high risk, high return which we all have listened. Wrexham owners simply managed to run their club well and believed in their players.
Yeah and if you compare the royal family to Elon Musk they're not rich either, that doesn't mean they're not rich. Why are you comparing a league 2 team to a premier league teams?
You can see clubs like Caliagiri, Girona, and Leicester, who were amazing, but now they sold their good players. Let's see how we both adjust next season, look forward to our clashes as always!
It’s a great story, and the ground swell of support shows how people everywhere love small British communities, and they should all be made to thrive like wrexham
Nice and balanced comments. Wrexham has had terrible ownership in the form of Alex Hamilton so sometimes you have great ownership and sometimes you don't. I'm sure it won't last forever, but as you say, it's been a huge boost to lower league football generally, not just Wrexham
I love Wrexham's story. The fact that Ryan Reynolds is a marketing genius helped them tremendously. Let's not forget that it was their own money they put up to fix up the pitch, hire the management staff and coaches. It was not looking good for anyone at the of the first season, so kudos to the players and staff for making miracles happen. UP THE TOWN !!! ❤❤❤😊
As a Californian who, was aware of, but knew very little (almost nothing about anything below the epl). I'm am far most familiar and have much more respects for clubs in the championship, league1 and and League 2. I have far more respect and appreciation for clubs like Stockport County, Notts County, and Crawley Town just to name a few. These lower leagues are far more marketable than we would have known.
This is why I think the rise of Wrexham is fundamentally a good thing for lower league clubs. Far more people outside of geographical proximity are now paying attention to/ are invested in lower league football. Awesome to see!
Poor Mansfield Town. A proper working class club in a former mining town in North Nottinghamshire; they’ve had to scratch and claw, losing playoff finals, narrowly missing out on automatic promotion time and time again. Only for this year, with a patchwork defence held together with sticky tape and pure guts… FINALLY managing to secure that elusive automatic promotion spot. This wonderful story is entirely overshadowed by Wrexham who use their Hollywood money to just buy themselves out of non-league and out of league 1. It’s so anti-football. And you know what? It’s not fair.
I love it, I’m from the US and the way Rob and Ryan approached building the team is how you get good teams in the us in American football and that’s forking out the money and they have done it with back to back leaving up hell yeah. US boys know how to win in sports
it made me actually pay attention to lower league football for the first time really ever! i’ve been following ryan tafazolli now with Wycombe Wanderers for a while, and now just finished the sunderland netflix docuseries and gonna be checking them out more too!
Im a fan of a historic EFL team, and I look at wrexham and couldn’t care less that they are the 3rd oldest club, they weren’t an EFL founding member like us, haven’t spent 7 and a half decades in the top flight, competed in the Europa League and they don’t have 4 FA Cups. They are a tinpot side, from a tinpot country (Wales) and had they not been bought would not be where they are. They are a disgrace to the EFL, and shouldn’t be allowed to just climb up the divisions like this. RIP to Football, killed by CFC, MCFC, MKDONS, SALFORD, NUFC, and now WREXHAM.
Not a fan of wrexham but I love the series and want to see them get promoted higher, Ryan and Rob genuinely care about the club and the town, people can hate, but mainly because it’s not happening to their club.
Both of them respect the club, the city, the tradition, but what the most important thing is, they respect the people. Of course you need money, Wrexham deserves to raise up again! Nice greetings from Germany❤
Remember Ron is from Philadelphia and when he wanted to buy the club with Ryan, Ron said that "Wrexham fan base feels like a fan base that you see in Philadelphia, the fans are passionate about their club/team win or lose." I just remember that they came over to play Philadelphia Union 2 (B Team from MLSNextPro) and both teams went at it in the Friendly match and it ended in a draw which everyone was pleased between very young blood players from Philadelphia and the professional level of Wrexham.
At the end of the day, success in football clubs comes down to investment…what people are jealous about…it’s the first time it’s been done correctly…whats so different is that the supporters are 100% behind Rob and Ryan’s project and the way they conduct their business..
We live in an age where people find something to hate no matter what. It’s cool story. I think the real challenge starts next season with league one hopefully they make it to the championship
I could understand the jealousy more if it was a club who had never played played in the EFL, but Wrexham were a good side when I was a kid and played as high as tier 2 briefly, even famously knocking Arsenal out of the FA Cup once, a lot of what's happening now is returning them to their rightful home after a long period of terrible ownership where they came very close to disappearing as a club altogether, I couldn't be happier for Wrexham and can't wait for them to be the best side in Wales.... again!
They are also developing in the communities around the club and are raising the quality of life as best possible without making it too easy as well, tough balance owning a football club especially if you us Tottenham as a comparison bankrupting many businesses and ruining residential areas which is the opposite right
Financial advantage isn’t a fair criticism unless it’s owners simply injecting money. The financial advantage with Wrexham is legitimate: the owners raised the profile of the club, marketed the club, and now can command deals worth more due to that higher coverage. The reality is that TikTok pay to be on the show and the documentary, and every news article about it, rather than to be seen at a 4th division stadium or on one of the few games that might be televised each year. They have a financial advantage because they generate a whole additional, highly lucrative revenue stream that dwarfs the “traditional” one.
point is Wrexham shouldn't even have been in the non league to begin with ... the fault of it was on the former owner of the team who tried to ruin the club and sell the club's stadium basically behind the clubs back as an example ( I don't know the full story of it but I gave an example of what was wrong with former owners ) Rob and Ryan however they do care about the club, the city / town of Wrexham to and the public around the club or whatever the word for it is
Calling it "Hollywood FC" is pretty stupid and very offensive to the resident of Wrexham. Reynolds and Mcelheany. They've taken good care to keep the focus on the town abd and the club itself.
love them and in FM22 I got them to the Premeir leage in 5 won the Europa Conference league winners in my first season in Prem (I won the league cup whilst in Championship) and in my 8th season I won the premiership.
I would be happy if i have a club like that in my league. That sponsorship and Welcome to Wrexham put a great spotlight world wide in the lower tiers. And it's not like England has no investors. Let them get promoted and then play your own league football.
Giorgio mamdarshvali is the next top top gk!! Definitely could be the next Allison! His performances for Georgia was TOP TOP in the euros and he was easily by a landslide the GK of the tournament!
The haters are just jealous… Rob and Ryan are in it for the right reasons. They breathed new life into the Wrexham community, not just the football team (men and women). This is an awesome story, and I cannot wait to watch the next chapters!!!
Haters gonna hate! No matter what they did, there would always be doubters. They were just smart to link their actions with the story they told, and the world bought into it.
I mean. Rob and Ryan’s net worth is only like $400-500mil together… which is pretty low compared to just about every other owner(s). And they are building up a town that was on its last leg. It’s impressive what boosting up a community can do for a team. You can take a look at every other sport, towns that are on their last leg, don’t tend to have good teams. And Rob and Ryan are investing in the community and the players. Making sure they have something even after they leave/retire.
who cares if people are hating, as long as the club's fans and the city like them, that's all it matters. And last i heard, people there are loving it.
Paying higher wages and spending more than most league one clubs and some smaller championship clubs in the national league and league two will probably do that, but they’ve found their level I feel
Jealousy is ridiculous. Football is about money nowadays. Like it or hate it. But it is the same old story wherever you go. I love the rise of Wrexham. Great club, great owners, great work, great docu series. They do not only throw money around...they care and have revitalised a complete city. Why should you hate that?
Any club, who hates what Wrexham have achieved, are only jealous that it hasn’t happened to them. Most towns would give up everything to have such loving owners come in and surge their club forward.
Jealousy is an awful thing especially in sports. Wrexham football club is over 100 years old and should be in the top tier except for mismanagement of former owners.
Forget about the team badge and history for a moment. This story should happen again and again with multiple other clubs. Put the finances back into the football system as a whole. All the money sits at the top and in the lower leagues people just maintain the status quo and exist. Teams get poorly managed and finances go upside down. The end result is less football. Less affordable football for average ‘local’ people who don’t support the big 6 etc. and for the country where the sport and the leagues started that is the biggest shame. Keep the game alive. Keep the communities going. Doing what Rob and and Ryan have done can give other teams more than a fair fighting chance at promotion and glory. Then ultimately the fans who have supported their local sides their whole lives can reap the rewards and the special memories.
My problem with Wrexham comes from our Super Playoff Semi final with them in the 2021/22 season. We'd just come through a quarter final victory over Notts County (last minute equaliser, last minute of extra time winner) and watching the pre-match coverage thought we must have forfeited the game. We were barely mentioned by BT Sport because must promote Wrexham. Then the following season we made history (first team to win 5 FA Cup matches playing only teams in higher leagues) and the only time we were noticed was for our battering by Brighton because big budget Wrexham had gone out in the previous round. I'll admit, I am a bit jealous but when two of your teams biggest achievements in recent memory are overshadowed because a team of L1/lower Championship players playing in the National League steal your thunder for both of them, you are going to resent them. P.S. If you don't know who I'm talking about consider it point proven. UTM.

I think its also good for other clubs in league 1/2 , national league and championship because there are more people watching lower England's league because of wrexham
Shut up
I understand hating how much coverage they get but hating on a club because their owners are good people and want to build the club up is crazy
So when the big clubs are bought and have a financial advantage no one says anything, but when a small club does it its bad... Ppl make no sense.
NICE ONE THANKS FOR THAT MATE. FROM W.X.M. 👏🏻👏🏻
It's jealousy, but they won't admit that it is. But we all know they wouldn't be mad if it happened to their team.
Just jealous it's not their club. Rather have Rob and Ryan as an owner than some 4th tier saudi prince who only see's the club as a busines, that just happens to have a football team on it's books. (Source: Blades fan)
Portsmouth FINALLY got promoted holy shit
They'll get relegated next season anyway.
Jealousy is good. Let’s you know you’re doing it right. If the crowd doesn’t boo at you, that means they aren’t afraid of you.
They just be hatin
I love the club hope more succes to them
You’re a yank that discovered football through Netflix, your opinion is invalid.
The thing that separates Ryan and Rob from other Yankee owners is a that they actually have passion for the club
Ryan is not American
Money alone doesn't buy success. You need people who know what to do with it.
Money is a significant part of buying success, money gives an extreme advantage over other teams
womp womp, the hollywood boys care about the culture and respect it deeply and want to learn it and they are giving those fans so much joy, and doin it fairly
The only reason anyone is mad is because their club isn't getting all the attention/money.
Maybe billionaires shouldn’t be so non personable and unpassionate. It’s just marketing genius.
You can see clubs like Caliagiri, Girona, and Leicester, who were amazing, but now they sold their good players.
You can see clubs like Dortmund & Ajax that players treat them like a step to the next level
You can see clubs like Wolves & Southampton that their owner don't really care about them
You can see clubs like Chelsea & PSG, who they just singing players and not selling
Then you have Wrexham & Real Madrid who the club owner care about their players and managers and they have special connection with them
It's giving me pure joy and this is why I love the game
And Stockport have beat them to the league at every chance since
2021/22 National League
2023/24 League Two
No doubt about it, you've won a league twice over us and deserved them fair play, we have a league record title and ultimately we're entering league 1 at the same time so I'm hardly upset about it I just have a competitve respect for Stockport. Let's see how we both adjust next season, look forward to our clashes as always!
The real ted lasso story
no
It’s a great story, and the ground swell of support shows how people everywhere love small British communities, and they should all be made to thrive like wrexham
Nice and balanced comments. Wrexham has had terrible ownership in the form of Alex Hamilton so sometimes you have great ownership and sometimes you don't. I'm sure it won't last forever, but as you say, it's been a huge boost to lower league football generally, not just Wrexham
Wrexham’s got nothing on Stockport. Local investment and an incredible loyal fan base. Stockport County are the real success story.
As well as Stockport you've got Luton, Burton Albion, Accrington Stanley. Small clubs achieving stuff through hard graft, not being bankrolled.
This is what the big teams do to stay in the big leagues, gotta respect the team
Let’s go WREXHAM!!!❤
7th day of saying that you should make a video about macca(macallister) in liverpool! Has been amazing this season!
Cry me a river haha
Go Chesterfield
Saran tambahin suaranya Mir, biar g diem" bae 🙌
STOCKPORT COUNTY
OH WE LOVE YOU
STOCKPORT COUNTY
WERE THE BOYS IN BLUE
CHAMPIONS AGAIN OLE OLE🎉
I could understand the jealousy more if it was a club who had never played played in the EFL, but Wrexham were a good side when I was a kid and played as high as tier 2 briefly, even famously knocking Arsenal out of the FA Cup once, a lot of what's happening now is returning them to their rightful home after a long period of terrible ownership where they came very close to disappearing as a club altogether, I couldn't be happier for Wrexham and can't wait for them to be the best side in Wales.... again!
As a SPURS's fan i hoped our club back to the be the beast
They are also developing in the communities around the club and are raising the quality of life as best possible without making it too easy as well, tough balance owning a football club especially if you us Tottenham as a comparison bankrupting many businesses and ruining residential areas which is the opposite right
If Wrexham ever get to the championship, they're going to get slapped about
Financial advantage isn’t a fair criticism unless it’s owners simply injecting money.
The mark of success is that people who previously took no notice of you can be bothered to hate you.
love them and in FM22 I got them to the Premeir leage in 5 won the Europa Conference league winners in my first season in Prem (I won the league cup whilst in Championship) and in my 8th season I won the premiership.
I would be happy if i have a club like that in my league. That sponsorship and Welcome to Wrexham put a great spotlight world wide in the lower tiers.
And it's not like England has no investors. Let them get promoted and then play your own league football.
That’s just fan talk. If success happens to our club by any means, we love, but not for our rivals.
I do not watch the documentury for the football anymore, i watch it for all they show us about wales and the town.
If your team is in their league & not also capitalising on the attention they've brought, your club owners are either lazy or complacent.
They're just jealous quite frankly and I don't blame them some of the owners are absolutely horrendous down there.
As a Canadian. I love it
Deadpool is coming to save football 😂😂
Haters gonna hate! No matter what they did, there would always be doubters. They were just smart to link their actions with the story they told, and the world bought into it.
It definitely encouraged me to take a look at division five football when before I wasn’t that interested.
Wrexham is my favorite club to play in Football Manager, so I'm happy with their rise.
Jealousy is a bitch. It’s a great story seeing Wrexham.
Jealousy is the only way you can be critical of what the owners have done for the town and the club.
Who wouldn't want owners like R&R?
Jealousy is ridiculous. Football is about money nowadays. Like it or hate it. But it is the same old story wherever you go. I love the rise of Wrexham. Great club, great owners, great work, great docu series. They do not only throw money around...they care and have revitalised a complete city. Why should you hate that?
It's fortunate to have owners with a vision. Wrexham deserves it!
"Sunderland Til I Die" is a good watch. Ask Sunderland fans if they wish they'd have Wrexham's owners.
i didn't know who ryan renolds was until the deadpool x wolverine movie
Any club, who hates what Wrexham have achieved, are only jealous that it hasn’t happened to them. Most towns would give up everything to have such loving owners come in and surge their club forward.
for me is simple: people hate what they dont have
Jealousy is an awful thing especially in sports. Wrexham football club is over 100 years old and should be in the top tier except for mismanagement of former owners.
They wouldn't hate on them if it was their own clubs
I want them to be in the Prem 2 years later. ❤
UTM.
Thats whole point of promotion.... Tgey move up until they are among clubs that compete at same lvl idk how its hard to understand
Wrexham has the best owners!
What they have done for the town and N Wales is to be appauled...
EPL fans are mad of Wrexham's financial advantage? Well thats ironic
*EFL
As a Notts County fan sure they did well but if financial fair play was in the national league then oh boi they wouldn’t be here
They've paid their dues, it's brilliant!😊
You still gotta go out and win no matter how much money the club has got, you gotta go out when the games on the field.
