DallasLopez1 Yes the Smithville walleye do not give themselves up easily. It took a few trips to catch that fish. It is usually a decent one when it happens.

Talked to you on the water at smithville a few weeks ago. I was with my family. We fish/ski smithville most every weekend. Wondering if you are interested in sharing spots/techniques? We do ok until August, then it drops off. I'm going to be trying harder this year to find them late summer/fall.

Bruce Marinchek Hi Bruce. It was good meeting you and your family. I have been thinking of Mozingo but have been hesitant after your lack of recent success there. May and June is typically the only time I can catch the good ones at Smithville. It has been tough the last couple years for me even in those months. After June I can catch a few smaller fish on the main lake. Message me your email through RUclips and we can share some waypoints.

Mainlake Fishguides I fish Mozingo every week, specifically for walleyes year round. May, mid June, and fall have been most productive for me, though my buddy did catch a 29' in August last year. Weather was really strange for that time of year though, it was like 50 degrees and misty that night. My personal best was a 28' post spawn. She was real deep. I catch tons of nice crappie and big channels trolling cranks and crawler harness on in-line weights. They are pretty tough to find up there, but when you do, they usually are nice ones.
