- When app limits and good old fashioned self-control didn't work for me, I tried these things. They worked.

Thanks for watching 🤝 I hope it was helpful!
I hope ur ribs are ok
I stumbled on your content by the remarkable notebook. But you have some really interesting content. I genuinely enjoy your videos.
Thanks! Much appreciated.

If you don't already suspect you're autistic and ADHD, you might want to research that. I am, and I see a lot of it in these videos.
Already diagnosed with ADHD 🖐️
Switching off phone notifications for anything but the most important events was a life changer for me
It’s not the quantity that counts,it’s the quality. I rather wait for a year for 1 high-quality video from you, than 100 low quality videos. Keep up the good work, my friend. I’m on the same journey, thank you for sharing your experience, I’m glad that I’m not alone. Take care.🙏😊
Thanks for that! Much appreciated.
Also here from the remarkable review; your videos are so beautifully shot and enjoyable! Looking forward to more. :)
Great Stuff Ryan!
Whoa that ending…. Hope your camera man survived
Turns out it was the cave monster filming me the whole time!
Love the content, the vibes, and the general hope that your videos instill in my life. I’m a dad, of soon to be two daughters, and I truly find your channel very inspiring for reimagining the life I live through my environment and the mindset I start with each day. Thank you for all the uploads. Subscribed for sure!
This was quite an interesting video, also the last one about the remarkable thing too. It works different for me because of my lifestyle and job, I don’t think I can do what you do. The dopamine and scroll addiction is sure a thing.
I have done a couple things which helped me to get more productive. I’m writing them here, maybe someone else would benefit also from those tips.
1) No Facebook nor TikTok on phone.
2) I limit RUclips and instagram together combined to half an hour a day, and then the phone would not allow me to use them till next day. Unless I chose to do so, which kind of gives a guilt feeling when I’m using more than I’m allowed to. That works quite fine with me.
3) I managed all my apps in a way where I scroll the least possible.
4) I use the focus mode mostly when I’m at work.
5) Downloading apps like brilliant etc helped me a lot in stimulating my brain to learn more.
6) Speech to text. Does wonders with the new AI support.
7) Text replacement. Adding shortcuts reduces the time you use to note down things.
I broke 4 ribs years ago. Most painful long term thing I've ever experienced, so just seeing you move around with that slight grunt/groan brings back those memories. Not fun being hobbled like that.
It’s definitely not a fun experience. This was the second time I’ve broken them, on the same side! 🥴
Good video man! I've actually noticed that I don't use my phone as much as some other people and that can get awkward like you say. Still probably get sucked in more than I'd like, but hey, you've got some good tips here I never thought of.
Imagine, spending hundreds of dollars because you don‘t want to uninstall twitter and instagram 😅
🫡😂
That was 2 of my resolutions for the year. Extremely decrease screen on time and social media, while also finding a new creative outlet via a point n shoot camera.
Sounds like you’re going to have a great year 👍
Got a wach last month. The combination of limitation, focus and convenience makes those things pretty practical. I intentionally dont take my phone with me for most occasions for a long time, and its truly refreshing.
100% agreed. I can’t see myself going back, that’s for sure.
What a great sound! ...as always! What mic are you using? Or rather MICs... Thanks!
Thanks! For the indoor segments I use an old AKG C1000S and for the outdoor shots, I used a Rode Wireless Go2 (but I messed up on the gain settings, so it sounds a little overdriven, unfortunately).
Glad you're healing up! This was super helpful. I went the dumbphone route but I have an ipad with cell connectivity. For me, at least, it's a lot more difficult to doomscroll on an ipad (especially unnoticed by my wife) and it's not in my pocket. Yet I can (awkwardly) use the ipad for directions and other app necessary tasks (starbucks or, in a recent example, Disneyland!). I don't have a newer smart watch but you've really opened my mind to that idea. My issue is having a smartphone at all is a temptation or time-waste I seem incapable of overcoming. Putting it on the counter lasts for a few weeks. Keeping apps locked down, same. One day I hope to get back to it but for now, I love this flip phone.
Also, came here after watching your no-cords video (which was super helpful). Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
Whatever works! It’s funny how the device has to either be awkwardly large or awkwardly small in order to keep me from spending too much time on it haha.
Thx, good ideas!
here linked from remarkable review, as an IT guy not sure how much I am looking to remove but the remarkable tablet as a notebook substitute looks pretty nice
just discovered your channel. love it. love the insights and authenticity. We are friends now. lol
Nice Tannus product placement. I use them in my bikes that can’t run tubeless. But back to info about remarkable.
I don't even use any Tannus products. It's just a nice fitting shirt 😂
@@runthejoules that’s ok. They are great for commuting. I got 4 flats in 2 month before I used them and none after.
What was your watch and lens?
It’s an Apple Watch Ultra (version 1)
Oh and the lens I had on the Leica is a TTArtisans 35mm 1.4
