I use the Strike-A-Fire starters when lighting my wood stove. They work really well for indoor fires but they’re hard to light outdoors. Great vid as usual Taras!

With those thinner matches, I would assume you’re supposed to snap it half way down and make some sort of kindling with your knife. They use the burst of flame to light it
just use them together. use the good striking one to get the flame, use the other to add fuel. that way, if you firewood is really wet, you can get it started "no probrem"
They would maybe work if you have kindling! The flame lights the kindling and the kindling lights the wood.

When you hold the match downward you are actually killing the flames faster, you should hold it to the side or at a 45° angle downward then start tilting upwards slowly.

The ones to the sides are actually to dry. The cardboard leached all the moisture out that would keep from burning so fast.
I think the Diamond brand is more for home use, like if you have a fireplace

Hopefully Taras will see this, maybe respond, but the large fire starters that went out easily would make good kindling at least. Use something else to light your small tinder and have one of the cheaper sticks in there to boost it.

You should break apart the sticks and squish them to small pieces and use them as fire starters and light them up with fire striker

They need to put more heavy duty match stuff on it on the uco match the put a lot of it and put a thick layer of it on the diamond matches the put a super thin layer of the match stuff the layer is as thin as paper I think they just need to fix them. And there probably like $8 and $18 for the big box they just need to fix them make them better.

Instead of buying these... you can get a piece of birch bark and hit it with a spark...
You may have to hold them upside down for a while but many many matches have to be held upsidedown to get started so they are cheapskates in making them but with some common sense just like with matches I'm ok with holding it upside down to get it started.
