  • Growing up in Hong Kong as a child of the city, Connie craved the beauty found in the ebb and flow of nature. Her start in life was typical; a small government apartment, home to three generations and seven members of her family, so every spare moment she had was spent outdoors. However, Connie didn’t follow her schoolgirl peers. She ran with the boys, venturing beyond the confines of her local streets and public park. Feeling like pioneers, together they explored the green mountains that frame Hong Kong’s intense urban streetscape. It was on those hillsides that she discovered nature, not in school textbooks describing distant jungles and remote glaciers, but at her fingertips, on the doorstep of her high-rise home.
This explorer in Connie, and her innate resistance to confinement or classification are themes that run through her life to this day. Guided by her parents’ words, “be bold, be happy,” she refused to be limited by things she could not change. Inspired, always pushing forwards, Connie created a path that brings her to The Peninsula each day. Now, behind the wheel, she moves in the service of others, helping visitors explore and discover the charms of her home city, enjoying the rewards of their happiness.
