In regard to employing robot dogs and the like in a military role there are two aspects to that. Yes, they can be used to destroy and take human life, that of the enemy. That is the nature of war. But also they can save lives as well, that of one's own side. So imagine one has a loved one that is serving in the military and is engaged in combat, say to defend their country from an aggressor. Would you rather see them put a great risk or maimed for life or killed or a robot dog die instead in taking a dangerous objective? Thus there are two sides to that issue.
