Why are reporters so obsessed with deferrals? They act like the Dodgers are the only team who could do this.

    • @stormnation8910
      @stormnation8910 16 часов назад +6

Every team could do this but most owners would rather keep the money in their pockets and collect the TV rights fees ($100 million per team)

Deferrals are common with highly paid people who are not athletes as well. NQDC.

I agree with Boras on one point: fans do love super teams. You either love or hate them, there isn't much gray. And that generates interest. Other than that, I don't particularly like Boras and his tactics.

Super teams in baseball is fun bc it's pitcher vs hitter dynamic. It's not as fun watching NBA or NFL bc there's so much going on at 1 time. You don't really see key match ups

When Boras said Soto is in the process of eliminating teams from consideration, I'm shocked no one asked the obvious question of whether the Dodgers are still under consideration. It's like all the reporters assumed he wouldn't answer the question.

Juan Soto is an easy contract for Dodgers. Wild guess: 2M for 15 years and 670M deferral after 2040. The contract totals 700M.

I predict the following contract offer from the Dodgers.
    15 years 650 million
    Year 1/75 million
    Year 2/75 million
    Year 3/75 million
    Opt out
    Year 4/75 million
    Opt out
    Year 5/75 million
    Last opt out
Year 6-15 27.5 million per year
Teams like the Yankees and Mets would be far less likely to offer these opt outs because they don’t want to have to deal with the possibility of losing him every off-season for three years. But the Dodgers would be fine with him opting out as long as they get three really good years from him

Bring Soto home Friedman!! Don’t listen to silly fans saying we don’t need him despite our current outfield as it stands today being Taylor, Outman, Pages!! He’s younger, and 200 times better than Teoscar. Better investment. Outfield is our only hole in the roster. Use that dough to fix that up

@@michaelsmith5801That would be great. But I think if they sign Soto that eliminates Teo from coming back. I love Teoscar and he is a great fall back option if they can’t get Soto, but if a guy like Soto wants to come you got no option but to get him

ABSOLUTE TRUTH..... and all for what? because he looks cool and his name sounds cool? an ignorant mass and the rich owners in particular!
