His point about how Its easy to confront racism than casteism was excellent. Racism is right in your face so it's easy to confront unlike Casteism which has a lot of hidden nauases so lot of people might think it doesnt exist

Yes.... Discrimination throughout the world is based on a physically visible thing eg. Race, religion , colour, rich and poor .... But only in india discrimination is based on an invisible thing, that is caste.
This is by far the best 50 minutes I've ever spent on RUclips! Pa. Ranjith is such an inspiration and his thoughts are with so much clarity that I can't stop admiring the way he approaches a topic! Loved the discussion about "the palm tree"! We need more content!

Wow this interview is the complete version of Ranjith's views. BR had done a great job by discussing his childhood days and his college years which brings a strong foundation to his views. The books he mentioned are deeply philosophical. I am awe struck by the Marxian analogy. There is no single event that pushes a man , it is a series of events that makes him question his surroundings. This happened to me and it is relatable to everyone. He is a film maker for years. We must protect him to protect the voice of the oppressed.

Good thing about this interview is BR allowed Pa Ranjith to express with ease. No silly questions. Very informative about Ranjith's thought process and approach on film and society.

@BR, I don't think anybody could have taken this interview any better than you did... It's amazing how you have handled the questions around the ideology of Pa.Ranjith, extracting amazing answers .. I use to practice with my friends in a ground at my vicinity. Ranjith use to come regularly with his friends(mostly his movie crew). He is so down to earth. He does not have any ego, does not show off... He is a great human.... All the best Ranjith sir...

The point he makes in 26:30. OMG!! it perfectly explains the mindset of people who still argue that caste-based discrimination is nonexistent in big cities like Chennai.
A well articulated interview in recent times...interviwer makes more sense thats what it differentiated from the rest and mr.pa.ranjith's analysis of society comes directly from political sociology...its rare when u considered the other directors...the view had so much clarity on the side of mr.ranjith...
One of the inspirational and informative interview I watched recently. Thanks Mr BR. He is a man of deep knowledge and likes creating equality. If everyone watch this interview without considering his caste, definitely they will accept him.
A very insightful interview.... Growing up a Muslim, I grew up quite oblivious of caste and it's real life implications....it was only after ranjith came into the fray I was made aware of the nuances.... And like his movies, this interview was also very informative.... Cheers
