Nigerians generally look down on Ghana as a small country. It's coming from a few of them who think Ghanaians are timid and so they try to bully their way through. Any resistance put up is termed as hateful, left to them alone, they should be allowed to do whatever they with us and get away with it other than that we don't like them.

The brother is right about the religiosity that prevents many from reaching the full potential. It is a form of madness and laziness to continually pray for things that the Most High gave us the capacity to solve. We need to stop spiritualising every problem and use the simple logic which we were blessed with.

Love this conversation and our Nigerian guy was very articulate and forthright in his ideas. This is someone that has learnt to question things and evolve from there, he is not to trying to prove anything from an egoistic perspective but from a collective perspective recognizing his own needs but at the same time conscious of the collective need and betterment of the whole. From this conversation, you also perceive the framework for the solution to what plagues this so-called “race” and that is creating that “space”, protecting that space, and at the same time recognizing the diversity of the whole…I like to refer to it as having a collective “why” to have a strong enough “why” that binds at the individual level and cascades to the whole…when we have this strong ”why” which goes beyond that little self the “space” is protected.

I want to touch on the religious aspect that he mention. I admit we have to question some of the religious beliefs. However if you sit down and pray without any steps or action you will be where you are. Christians must know that God is a principle and a practical God, If you pray and don't take steps to actualize your prayer request you will fail. There are principles that God has set in place and irrespective of your religious background if you follow those principles you will progress. Most Christians don't research what the Bible says. They just accept what comes from the pulpit.

Embracing extreme religion wholesale without room for critical thinking is a serious barrier to real socio-economic development and collective advancement in many communities.
There needs to be a separation of religion from the will and necessity to bring about transformation. Room needs to be made for critical thought that can bring about real change.
There are a lot of Islamic leaning countries ( Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Indonesia, UAE) that are very religious yet their countries are well developed infrastructurally in a lot of areas of human endeavour because there is a recognition that in spite of their faith there is a need for social change and human development in their nations. A lot of sciences emerged from the middle east in pre Islamic times. This sort of tells us that religion is not the problem as such but how it is applied ....
Religion and socio-economic development need to be separated in Africa.
Religion on its own will not bring about change. That said, it is still possible to believe in a Creator but advance via critical thought, political will, practical education and strong institutions. This is not rocket science.
The youth need to be encouraged to think critically and start to own their own ambitions and gradually that will eventually add up to a groundswell of change ; they also need Leaders to step up and provide the levers for transformation.
Also civil society which of course could include very wealthy religious organizations who are genuinely willing could chip in. Don't promise miracles help provide practical levers for real change.

Law abiding Nigerians are living their lives and secretly taking hold peacefully.
Unfortunately the majority(most without official recognition) ironically are the ones always causing problems... In natural fact, they should be more careful and live under the radial..
Many Nigerians have been living in Gh peacefully for many years.., why now?
    Regarding the African mindset...
I totally agree, religion has outlived it's designed usefulness. As a tool in itself can be used for Good, however, in this age of "meritocracy" its central matrix will not hold.
African needs practical educational revolution and Economic independence.
AfCFTA hope to address the economic aspart, however, the educational framework is lacking... We have many foreign energies holding as back(ensuring the mis-education of our youth) , i.e, Unesco,... etc
Despite all these unseen energies, we're still resilient :- Our Ancestors are still interceding on our behalf... Hence, the African spirit is strong...

Jay,to be able to address this white Jesus thing all over Africa.first of all lam a Ghanaian who have travelled outside the continent and have met different type of human race.i can by a twinkle of an eye identify a white person from a Latino,an Arab from a Jewish people.but that cannot be said of a person who have not encountered or met people of different race, and that born and raised in my , village in .Ghana or rural Nigeria.instead, that person will call an Arab man a white man and not know the difference between their skin colours or their physical features differences.so to tackle this white Jesus things.u first have to educate people particularly Blacks on the Africa Continent about identification of different race .for example jay if u want lineups an Arab ,a Latino, Europeans and ask a local Ghanaian to identify them .he or she will say that they are all Whites.simply because they all have white skin,we are colour blind....
