The bassline is soo addictive. Generally I love the whole song. Super catchy
An interesting first exposure to the band, but I’m glad SOME of you enjoyed it at least, they’re an extremely creative and experimental group, none of their songs are repetitive, one of the most interesting metal bands currently making music in my opinion and even better live, they’re incredible showmen. It definitely looks like this song is going to be a calmer point in the album (especially considering it’s sung entirely clean). They’ve released another 2 singles recently that are also going to be in the album and are heavier than this and I’d recommend checking out if you haven’t yet, they’re called Dance Devil Dance and Valley of Disease. Also I agree their bass player IS fantastic, they have so many good bass lines in their songs.
If you’d like to look more into their past, some great songs of theirs are: Hail the Apocalypse, Torn Apart, Bloody Angel (although I have to say I love the live version even more and recommend the Live at Poland rock video), Wormhole, Let it Burn, Black Waltz, House of Eternal Hunt (I recommend the live from Ages video on their channel), The Eagle has Landed, A secret Door, Silence in the age of apes, King’s Harvest, and if you want something truly weird and out there, The King Welcomes You to Avatar Country.
I hope you guys continue to check them out, these guys have so much to explore.
David: I really appreciate this lengthy response. You have definitely inspired me to listen to some of their other songs. I will focus on their older songs just in case we decide to react to more of their new stuff.

The Avatar Country song wasnt too weird. It was basically an AC DC style blues song. I saw that song performed live 4 times and very fun song.

Have seen them live four times, they are a very good metal band. Each album, and each song on the albums are very diverse. Some songs to check out: Bloody Angel, Torn Apart, Statue of the King, A Secret Door, Going Hunting, The Eagle Has Landed.

I just saw these guys in a smallish room with no prior knowledge., and they are absolutely fantastic. Go see them now, because I have a feeling the small shows will be ending for them soon, and the trombone solos in the crowd. The singer is on another level
Yes, these guys are very underexposed in the US! They range from death metal all the way up to what you just heard. (Which is by far the most pop/radio friendly song so far) Being from Sweden and without major backers they don't get much hype here. I think you'll be surprised by the diversity if you decide to check them out further. A couple quick notes: they were a band before the movie of the same name with the silly blue people. Lol. I think all of their official music videos are done with the same director. All very different and well done on what could be considered a shoestring budget including "Legend of Avatar Country, a Metal Odyssey", A 40 plus minute video for the "Avatar Country" album. They are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 live! I've never heard anybody say otherwise, small clubs or festivals. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE REACTING TO "GLORY TO OUR KING/LEGEND OF THE KING/LET IT BURN. At club LA Destin Florida for a taste of them live. (Since they are not international superstars most non festival live stuff is fan recorded)

@@metalheadsjourney thanks for the personal reply! You won't be disappointed. This band has made me rethink what metal bands can/should be. As they are self described, they are a metal circus. They believe that metal is not something to sit down and listen to or simply bang your head to. I love a band that can be so heavy or serious but not be self righteous and have a fun side.

the other 2 singles from the upcoming album are fantastic; Valley of Disease and Dance Devil Dance but I would *highly* recommend Hail the Apocalypse, The Eagle Has Landed and Bloody Angel too, they're 3 of my faves

@@joshbrewer4309 Yes and I am a big Avatar fan with over 20 shirts and 10 shows. And I finally found the first Avatar song I didnt like that much. I agree with the guy on the bottom right. The solo is good but the song is boring. But Avatar likes to experiment a lot so they will go from something super heavy to something like this. This is kind of why I like them but I think this song was too much experimentation. They are not the Bee Gees. I dont want 70s disco rock. The first two singles for this album I did like. Valley of Disease and Dance Devil Dance.

The video was shot near the place where this album was recorded, in the Swedish woods, around beginning of October. This cabin can be seen at the end. The car is same from Dance Devil Dance. So Devil assembled cultists and monsters to sabbath.)) 🤘🤘😈🤘🤘The vampire is Ronja Kruus, she played Tim's girlfriend and also EDM dancer in their featurette Legend of Avatar Country" A Metal Odyssey. It's so cute that they don't forget those with whom they used to work.))) And with the Аvatar Country this clip connects also the fabulousness and friendliness of what is happening.)) The main riff of the song has been sitting around for about 20 years (like Silence in the Age of Apes), the band has said, waiting to be used. When Tim shredding cool solo, he use whammy bar, like in Hail the Apocalypse.
They have very variable sound. Check out Smells like a Freakshow, New Land, The Great Pretender (official video not on official page for some reason), Going Hunting, Vultures Fly, Tower, Construction of Souls. Black Waters, Scream Until you Wake, In Napalm, Child, Tooth, Beak and Claw, Legend of the King.
I’ve been able to check out a couple of other tracks. Definitely a very cool band. Glad we came across them.

Okay Avatar start Queen of Blades album 1st. Lullaby, queen of blades, or my personal favorite "out of our minds." Cant put a label on Avatar every album is different or evolving into this album. I only discovered them last year. still listen on the daily.

Just came from your guys’ reaction to Bloody Angel…one of you said something to the tune of Bloody Angel crapping all over this song. I’ll just say that this song is a very good example of how incredibly diverse this band is. Is this metal? Nope, but it’s fucking groovy. If you guys want amazing cinematography and Avatar, check out their video for “A Secret Door”. These guys are incredible.

@@joshbrewer4309 Yeah man, no worries. When you guys were commenting on the cinematic quality and production value, A Secret Door was the 1st thing that came to mind. It's a great song, and the video is pretty wild. I think you guys will really dig it.
