This chapter just makes me want part 3 to have some sort of Build saver/changer for quickswapping builds between characters. I think the worst part about this chapter is having to swap materia
Honestly. The most annoying thing about this chapter is not being able to swap out full builds. That and not being able to access your build in the simulator/arena battles. Hopefully that’s fixed in part 3!

Just got the platinum yesterday and I couldn't have done it without your guides. The ones for Bonds of Friendship, the solo legendary bouts and Gi Nattak hard mode were especially helpful. Your step-by-step commentary is fantastic, and for me the best guide out there. I look forward to watching more of your videos because its really interesting to see how you tackle some of these challenges, especially the final boss gauntlet on hard mode.

I am finally done with the Platinum! This is mainly thx to this channel. Must say this game tested my patience, so annoying! Whoever needs to do chapter 14 I do feel sorry for you. The last battles are the worse ones as you can't skip the cutscenes. Dev's really tried hard to make us suffer here😂

Thank you for the entertaining commentary. All the fights were easy except Rude and Reno. I couldn't replicate the first phase so had to survive a shitshow lol.
Same lol Died the first time. Then second phase started before I did limit siphon. Best Reno, then Tifa died and kept doing spells with Barrett and cloud and was lucky to build up another limit for Barrett.
did anybody write down the builds for these? cause its easier to read or watch builds than to listen to them.

Excited to see chapter 14 tomorrow! I remember 1st playthrough the last Sephiroth fight with Aerith and Cloud wrecked me lol. Probably have to use limit siphon and planets protection. And maybe revive and prayer materia on all party members. I’ll wait for your guide though, these boss fights are easy with your help :)
Not sure if we will need to do that once I get a good strategy going, it would mean you cant put Genjis on Cloud losing a lot of damage. I dont think Gotter is needed because when I got to Aerith, she was still a frog due to Enfeeblement Ring I had on her and I still kinda destory Seph mega quick xD!!! Should go down mega quick once I actually incorporate Aerith
I figured out how to tell who joins on what phase of the fight by the way. Going to make a separate video on it as its mega useful info ;)

I wish you can tell us what build you use for normal battles in this chapter. I’m kinda lost right now as I started chapter 13 on hard mode

i'm following your guide to finishing the hard mode, but unfortunately i miss the last legendary simulation with sephiroth, odin continue to kill me unfortunately =( btw thanks for your work mate.
Since I'm following along I gotta say. This chapter is proof Nomura should not be allowed to cook ever again. I think if we're all the same and played this blind on Dynamic this chapter was probably insanely long. Traveling to Northwood Port which is slow, Figuring out the gravity puzzle, Dealing with Aerith's altar gimmick. The trials --- and
I'm gonna say this now. The trials will not play any role whatsoever in Reunion. Its just there. There's no indicator that your group is ordained by the planet to protect it. No character comments on why they are specifically doing it. And its one big Telltale simulator where it culminates in just feel bad. No one learns anything about it, talks about it, it doesn't give them or YOU anything.
Its proof that Nomura and co wanted to do something unique which I'm all for but not crammed into an insanely long chapter as is. You know what would have been great. If these trials were BEFORE the trippy final dungeon and you actually PLAYED them like a pregame to the legendary bouts. Nothing super difficult but challenging and you relive their past etc. etc.
It just miffed me that it meant absolutely nothing. Especially since there's literally 3 other party members who don't even get acknowledged.
The game really....suffers from being split into 3 parts. I won't go in length on that but my god.

Almost there, finalising it now, then will record in a few hours. I can get through the whole thing now without any deaths or close calls and its a relatively clean strategy i hope
I played this game blindly the way up to chapter 11 hard mode and the Brutal combat simulator. I’m a completionest for all my Final Fantasy games. All I have let to platinums after this is FF tactics, 14 unfortunately my file with about 2000 hours on it got erased. I have to say tho this guide made it so easy for me to get the Gotterma or however you spell it. Thank you. I’m almost done with my journey. I pray I can find a game that just a little fun but probley am going into a depression after this lol

Already got my platinum, but I wanted to see how you handled Red Dragon. I was just about ready to try the Brumal Form method you did, but on one last try was able to survive the fire floor with Manawall and then kill him fast enough with Cloud (Absorb build), Barret, and Yuffie.
Still think it's ridiculous that all this fire-breathing dragon's fire-spewing attacks are somehow not fire. I mean, they could've made the flames purple or something if they weren't going to be fire.
Yea that is stupid, not what its classed as, non-elemental fire or something lol

Unfortunately for me, my work isnt done yet. Now i remember how the chapter 14 fight goes, back into the fray to make the best strategy i can come up with ;).
A lot of the phases went by mega quick, some instantly (2 ATBs ready to shoot fire level 3 instantly, bam, phase over), very nice when that happens!
And they are finally a little but forgiving on the Spehiroth fight as they give you full health before certain phases ;)
Just wondering Opti, how many of each elemental materia do you have? I'm wondering if I need to stock up on some elemental materia since the final fight obviously has all of the party members fighting all at once.
Yea sorry, I had actually planned to mention that at the start of chapter 13, but completely forgot, will try to mention at start of 14.

@@Optinooby Thanks dude. Glad I asked. Guess I'll stock up and level them up before I start chapter 13 since that has the point of no return. I think I've only got about 5 of fire, ice, lightning and wind so I'll get 5 more of each. Would you say 10 is a good amount?
Anything else I need to get materia wise? Thinking to stock up on prayer materia as well so everybody has at least one.
@@surajshergill7777 You defo need more than 5 for 13, the Red Dragon fight for example, think i use 6 or 7 ice.
I cant say for sure as im still working on 14, I personally have 10+ of the elements, and 3-6+ of all the others that can buy infinitely, may not be required though. Think I have 7+ Healing.
Those 10+ elements will be enough for chapter 13 and I will be sure to mention it at the start of Chapter 14, any you may need

I'll start stocking and levelling them up and I'll do what I did with this chapter and check out chapter 14 before I actually do it so I know what I need. Thanks Opti, you're awesome! You may want 4 Expeditionary Medals as well so that the other members in chapter 14 start with Limit 2, and of course one of them will have the Enhanced. We may not use them in the finished strategy yet, but ive gone and quickly got them, easy to do. Kill King Zu on easy a few times in Nibel, and buy the remainder materials from Nibel Choco Shop.
Will mention everything we need and optimal way to get at start of chapter 14 on what we need for final strategy

Woohoo chapter 13 finally done! Ended up being unwell so came home from work pretty early. Jumped into the game and grinded up all the materia and blitzed through chapter 13.
This chapter was so long! Bosses weren't difficult, I only had to redo Reno and Rude because Tifa died really quickly for some reason but still. Even with skipping the mobs and the cutscenes it was still such a long chapter!
Can't wait for the final chapter! Ready to put this game down for a break!
It will be up tomorrow, strategising these last 2 bosses is taking longer than i thought, forgot that its pretty much 10 fights all with different characters in a row

Thanks. Hope it will be worth it as there will be an extra video for 14 as well, basically ive figured out how to determine which party members join you at which stage, and this can be figured out from the very first stage!!
I cant say for sure what determines the order, I think its affection based and what not, but at least we will know how to determine what the current order is and so can better plan our materia ;)
@@Optinooby I think I read somewhere that it could be about how much you've played with a character as well, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Thats exactly how many we need and ive finalised that part of the fight! Basically we save the limits for Jenova stage 3, 4, and 5. Then we use those 5 limits and those 3 stages are over instantly, the wing stages
I didn't know I'd need so many Ice materias for the Red Dragon... Now to buy some, farm more AP and start the chapter again. The ending to this platinum is getting so tedious 😅
I know you said at the start of the video you have 3 petrify Materia on cloud. Is one of them poison and petrify because I only have 2 petrify and 1 poison and petrify? Does it matter which is linked or does both have same effect?
Yes exactly and doesnt matter dont think.
Shame there isnt more than 3 as you cant really make a proper quake build
Thanks optinoob! I was having to improvise on ruby dragon. I do not have that many ice materias, so I instead casted arcane ward on Aerith, ended up staggering before phase 2 so used both ATB ward and arcane ward for phase 1 and 2, he was ended pretty sharpish, dare I say even faster than the method here!!!

I haven’t needed a guide for any of the hard mode story fights but the rude and Elena fight in the gold saucer has me worried about the last fight
Genuine question; instead of Aerith using prayer, can you replace that with Gotterdammerung + Limit lv 1? No switching required at that point

but at the start of the first battle how did you do to avoid the other ones to come at you? the ones on the sides always come to you to attack
Dont go too close to the sides and maybe kill them quick, seems to work for me, probably should have mentioned it but didnt even remember about the other groups as they havent joined for ages
Should have showed you changing the build each time for the Hectares for example its super hard to follow what you actually need while your fighting and speaking at the same time. Rest of the guide is fine just this episode you seem to be in too much of a rush
I agree with you. I made it through just by an idea of a build but he did say it was a "speed run" video in the title.
Replaying all those long chapeter is a pain. Really don't need, they just could make us beat the boss on hard and GG.
I hate pausing every half second when someone is explaining what the build is instead of putting it in the description or showing it to us. Either way good guide
I have a love-hate relationship with that. Yes, I want whoever makes the video to get to the point and move on to the next (in most cases anyway), but at the same time, this IS Hard Difficulty after all, with no access to item usage and limited access to MP recovery to boot, so in this case, attention to detail is pretty damn important here, something I already know firsthand after using this channel's guides to get those last couple of Trophies standing between me and Platinum in Remake, and already getting this far in Rebirth Hard Mode using this channel's guides.
Now this chapter was a real pain in the asss

I did the Aerith Yuffie combo for most of this chapter. I'm surprised you didn't use Arcane Ward more often. Especially with Demon Wall
I just decided i wanted to get going as soon as possible and it slows Aerith down a little
@@Optinooby fair. I did all of Hard mode myself, even if Rufus, Red Dragon and Gi Nattack were painful. Would you cover some or the hard mode side quests for people to fill out their weapon skills? A few like the tournament the Shinra Middle Management and even the flower hunting side quest are annoyingly difficult on hard.
May do mate, mentioned in recent community post that I will do a poll for additional content once hard is done
At 1:46 into the video, Cloud has an icon under his ATB bar. What is this? It appears before you even do a move. It appears in every fight until you change the build for the Red Dragon.
I think i have the fury ring equipped, that gives you berserker buff, +30% damage, -30% defence.
Berserker buff is usually what you can trigger using punisher mode

I normally have Genjis, they may be on somebody else. Im running Quake here and Genji isnt really helpful for that as damage rarely goes above 9999. Always want Genji for bosses pretty much

@@Optinooby bro, on Clouds weapon, swap out the 20 attack power for stagger recovery. Boom, free HP and MP for your build. 20 attack power isn't very valuable when you're using magic. Spam away now!
Aerith isn't doing nearly as much damage at around 37:30, what's your build? You keep skipping over it whenever you change lol, I'm literally dying like 30 seconds in, if that.
I mention the build for regular encounters in the commentary. Think its magic equipment and magic hp absorb etc

13 was done on newest patch as well. Just got platinum now, but need to go back and optimise more, got an idea of how the strategies will work, but method needs cleaning and optimising a little more.

Following the Reno rude fight but second stage doesn’t trigger after barrel/Barrett shoots rude, instead it just becomes messy
Still wouldn’t trigger but I managed to brute force the battle

I think ive mentioned it along the way, depends on the enemies, but mainly the quake build i guess and a party member is healing me

can't you use that magic build with aeroga from Bonds of friendship here? (+magnify instead hp absorb)
For which part? That Aero build isnt optimal for weaknesses, just works on Bonds of Friendship because you have 10 fights, and the majority are weak to aero and not resistant to it. Aero wont hit many weaknesses here, besides i do use that same build more or less, just different elements
@@Optinooby yeah, i was using it through out hc too, but changing elements. I mean in cp 13 you can just use fire version of it on humans and swap to ice for monsters maybe, will try that
