I will never forget the one time we had a pop up front move through which kicked back up some sparks and relit our timber at 3am on a Monday morning. Nothing like highstepping it in your jammies to neighbors to ask for help. Leaf blowers in numbers are a necessity. And lots of beers were owed that spring.
No joke I've been burning brush all week and spreading the charcoal over the dirt. After this last rain storm, there's a bush up to my knee and I mowed it last month 😭
HELL YES... I hope the link I gave you helped this decision!
I love doing top layer controlled burns. It’s a lesson taught in class if anyone ever wants to do forestry in there state or even local jurisdiction.
They did a massive control burn in a field behind my school. The best thing to come up was a huge patch of the sweetest wild strawberries.
Very cool I was wondering if the fire had new plants pop up for you
hell yeah, get that goodness into the soil and the native plants returning, love to see it.
Ppl always think wildfires are so destructive, but they do away with the old/dead, and allow for the new!!
Slash and burn produces great feed for plants, but weeds come back fierce.

I miss doing these
Controlled burns are a part of nature so you’re actively helping Mother Nature
Just did a burn here. My doggie has black paws and nose. Where's Minnio
This is a natural occurrence in places and some native tribes would aid this process. It might have been how humans 'discovered' fire too.
Can you plant things on top of the newly burned areas? Or do you just let nature take care of it?
Nitrogen....!!!
Why the "Do not try this at home!"...we all need to learn to use fire to help our ecosystem..Smokey Bear was way to successful!
Glad to see the Americans remembering this, hope you can plant some flowers. Bless
If you or your neighbors had goats, et cetera that would work, i've seen it done
Why does one do a controlled burn?
its good for the soil
And prevents forest fires by eliminating the fuel.
It's always how nature dealt with it b4 humans decided fire bad
California and Canada wonder why they have a lot of fires, it’s because they don’t do this every year
