    LP can be used as offensive other than chop, block, push etc. it depends on the player. i use it as fast attack although LP does has it limitation. FH drive n loop may not always as accurate compare to SP. well, LP got that tricky or deceptive that SP doesnt have.

    I play pips on the forehand. I agree with your tips. But I think it is good to try a single more tougher stroke just to make the game more versatile and difficult. They dont have to be fast killer shots, just the variation will do. A fake topspin loop against topspin can be effective for example. Just pick a relatively easy ball for doing that.

    Awesome tutorial, I have learnt a lot from you, and am very grateful, I have just started to use an anti-spin rubber on my backhand, and exactly as you say I have found myself making many of the mistakes you mentioned trying to do to much. many thanks again.

    the treated tsp curl is a fantastic close to the table off the bounce push rubber in ox,but very hard to attack with.

    Without a doubt the forehand loop is the best stroke at game table tennis. You can loop chop,block,push,flick,serve,high ball and another loop. The forehand loop can be on the top and overcome any other stroke.

      +Dimitar Dimitrov You could actually say the same about a chop really. You can chop a chop, a block, (push a push), a flip, serve, high ball and a loop of course. But the chop doesn't put you in control of the point. :)

      +Dimitar Dimitrov When you say loop do you mean a topspin drive? What's the difference between a loop, a topspin drive, and a counter hit?

      I think the pendulum serve is as good as forehand loop.
      Drive=flat hitting Loop=brush hitting. a loop is topspin focused, a drive speed focused and a loop drive is a balance of both. countering is just playing an active stroke against an offensive ball. For example, you serve long backspin, they open up loop. instead of blocking, you counter with a FH loop-drive and increase the speed and spin on the ball and win the point.

    I'm a big fan of yours, but I disagree when you say you can't loop against loop with long pimple.. Actually you can, you will get the same fast return ball using top spin stroke but the stroke is somewhat similar with short pimple rubber, hitting through the ball, and always 99% your points.. Only few or mostly a plain luck when your opponents manage to return the ball. Also, long pips can do a combination of flick and side swipe, deadly to your opponents. it's difficult to learn but it can be done and it'll become a second nature to your stroke after a while. Cheers..

    I've just changed my backhand to long pips (from normal rubber - pimps inside, like we in german say). Don't know, that I can topspin with these long pips on a heavy backspin serve... I'll try this! With normal Rubber this is often very hard to play...

    Didn't realize i need a degree in physics to have a game of ping pong. I was going to buy a set for the kids for Christmas, don't think I'll bother now after watching that.

    When my opponent topspin, I cover it before the bounce. The time period is so less and very strong energy. Opponent will be in panic mode.

    i have used a lot of different types and brand of long pimples,most things what he is saying is not correct,every brand of sponge thickness are different even the ox version,the blades you want to have a large sweet spot like a 3 ply blade that can absorbed the power and speed of the balls.really long pimples are not the hard to play against the wobble has to stop while in play.when you attack with them you must be very close to the table with a short swing and a open face shot,

    can anti spin rubbers reverse the incoming spin?

    • @bakervinci163
      @bakervinci163 4 года назад +1

      There are a few that will. I only know this because one of my playing partners had it

    • @blueheart9873
      @blueheart9873 Год назад

      Usually not, they just take the incoming spin away for about 90%

    intermediate players can not loop using inverted rubber why you thing they can loop using LP. I am using LP on forehand and I find it easier to loop against top spin than against under spin.

    • @martinjandijkstra3205

      I have similar experience. Added to this the LP forehand drive causes much more confusion than the predictable chop. However when the receiving ball is very fast and low, it gets risky for me.

    • @blueheart9873
      @blueheart9873 Год назад

      I loop with both rubbers. It's funny when I loop with LP against a heavy backspin cause it has almost no spin at all, when I do it with an inverted it has massive spin (the inverted rubber is a tacky Chinese rubber which helps for more spin) so I do the loop below the table so they can't see which rubber I used and the results are so funny. In a counterloop rally I rarely use LP because the flight curve is really flat (knuckleball effect) and it can be hard to aim on the table but when it goes on the table they are forced to lower the pace which gives me an advantage. But to be honest I much prefer a chop to lower the pace because this feels much safer

      I played with c8 for a long time. Quite good. Control is very reasonable though softer pips offer more control (but are more boring as well)
