Suggestion; make the artifacts retextured blaze rods instead of iron nuggets. Itd be more expensive but with dynamic lighting they’d glow in the dark!
Seconded!
Make it prismarine crystals, they still glow but can’t be turned into blaze powder
@@gigigigioso232 Blaze powder and magma cream would also work.
Or just torches
🤔👍
“A soup man cannot be trusted, as their loyalty is as thin as their broth.” 😂 I love Scar!
Same 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
He is a real showman
Considering that he is the only one who killed tango for revolution-related crimes, it is a little hypocrite. But yes, he is great.
I like my soups to have a thick, chowder-like broth.
I think the "heartbeat" sound from Decked out 1 is something I would bring back, it's such a great fear inducing sound.
yeah heartbeat was great
maybe the jaws theme only kicks in at really high clank
yeah, call me resistant to change but i much prefer the heartbeat + descending three notes from Decked Out 1. it was unique but still terrifying lol. he did say these things are subject to change, though, so maybe he'll switch it.
@@ovencake523 I think he'll probably make custom sounds for everything, so it will be super immersive and scarry.
@@lightning_11 scarry? Is that when scar comes out of nowhere at high clank to hotguy the player?
Heartbeat sound from DO 1 would be so epic
I have to keep reminding myself this is VANILLA minecraft! The fact that this is possible, and with so much planning and detail, is phenomenal
Vanilla with a big asterix next to it.
@Skyler Shaneyfelt I thought Hermitcraft only had optimization and cosmetic mods, is this just a joke or is there something I'm forgetting
@@1unar_eclipse No, you got it right. They don't use anything that alters gameplay. Some people just don't consider cosmetic mods vanilla either.
Lol you all are right, sure there's re-texturing, client side mods and added features like custom music discs, but i'd say that's completely fair
I mean, Tango was a game developer before YT...
I definitely prefer the sounds from the first decked out over the jaws theme for clank. The heartbeat was nice because it's way more ambient.
Fun fact, the Jaws theme is made up of two notes that are a minor second apart, a very dissonant interval. Your noteblocks are also a minor second apart which is why it sounds the same
Fun fact: The Jaws Theme was inspired by the opening of Dvořák Symphony no. 9, Mvt. 4!
because it is the same.
well same interval but probably a different key
Minor second? Do you mean like a half-step? Like between E and F? Could you explain what a minor second is?
A minor second should be the same as a major second: a whole step, as that’s the distance between the scale’s home note and their second interval. I think the term is “diminished second.”
@@johnmillerpere_grin6371 You already got it, it's a half step between notes. E to F, A to A sharp, etc.
The funny part is that klank actually means sound in Dutch.
It's also a type of sound in English, so not that funny. Probably both come from the same Greek/Latin root
@@amaryllis0 That's a helpful clarification, I appreciate that! However, being a linguistics nerd, I have to add that Dutch and English are germanic languages, so the common root of clank and klank is more likely to be from Proto-germanic than from either Latin or Greek.
Klank also means sound in Afrikaans.
@@venekruger663 afrikaans is derived from the dutch language during the dark period of history
@@falkland_pinguin English is actually both a Germanic language and a Romance language. The weird mix of both is what makes English unique
I hope you keep the clank sounds from noteblocks instead of custom discs. I like the idea of custom ambient music and some other sound effects but also maintaining some reference to the previous version with some original feature, like indeed the iconic clank sound, is a nice balance imo
Could always do a custom disc for it which samples the noteblock sound while adding some extra effects to it as a cherry on top
You should call it the clank processing unit (CPU)
That's exactly what I thought too 😂
Dude…that mechanism for detecting clank is incredibly clever. Probably the best use of skulk I’ve seen so far. I do prefer heartbeat to jaws tho. 😂
I love the part where TangoTek says “It’s clankin’ time” and Clanked up the whole place. It was truly a wonderful moment in Hermitcraft History.
He really just clanked all over them
When I saw the title, I clanked this video *so* fast
@@liambohl same 😮
🌸IT'S MORBIN- i mean, IT'S CLANKIN' TIME
Watching Decked Out 2 grow over time is really fun. It’s looking really great so far and I know it’ll look great when it’s done
You should hire Etho to be the note block sound engineer for any Decked Out sound effects! You could also have custom records made for the clank sound effects at varying speeds that get activated at the corresponding levels of clank.
+
Decked out was my favorite part of Season 7. This is already shaping up to be leaps and bounds better. I can't wait for the Hermits to start running it.
One sad thing about the new artifact system compared to the old one is how the requirement of sets in season 7 forced all the hermits to make trades amongst themselves, which added a whole new social element to the game. Now, with everything having a fixed value in frost embers, there’s no reason to trade with one another.
Hermits will be encouraged to trade cards, since some cards will complement each other while other cards won't be good together
There’s still rares and uniques to be collected, and anyone can offer stuff they’re not going to use to others for possible sale.
It was cool to start, but got boring after like 2 weeks.
Tango made a great point when he was explaining that in an earlier video; if someone casually plays and gets a rare and stops recording for a bit, the rare is technically out of commission. This way, it's not dependent on others, either. In stream he was talking about a bystander sabotage system that sounds amazing!
I think this is one of the reasons he changed it. He didn't want one players success to be based on other players. Or something. He mentioned it in a stream
Been binge watching Etho's runs, and now I'm here rewinding time binge watching the making off Deck out 2. You have a TON of amazing ideas, but I don't know why, your simple but yet SO SMART random clank detector is making me writting this.
Once again, congratulation for the astonishing amount of work and creativity in this master piece of a game.
Love from France
When Tango uploads, you know stuff's about to get crazy. Like. _Really_ crazy
You mean the CR4ZY crazy, right.. not the crazy crazy ..!
@@alperentursucu5218 like the type of crazy it takes to leave the atmosphere
have you heard of a fellow youtuber called Docm77? that is the crazyest
@@EliasPlaceDE sorry but nope, he is crazy but not to this point. World eater is not enough or the bug hunts. Ok they are CRAZY but not to the point that there is a game which is a real deal in another game which is a deal but not perfect
@@EliasPlaceDE Whenever Doc joins the server, Hermitcraft and Minecraft as a whole tremble
This is my favorite part about tango. The man uses Redstone and other game mechanics in such a unique way to make something crazy. Tango, I am even more excited every time progress is made on this project. Thank you for giving us amazing content!!
I wasnt around for decked out 1 and i hurt my brain trying to just imagine how these systems could have worked. This is absolutely incredible and i have so much respect for things like this. Hat off to you, Tango. You're an actual genius
Tango, you’re a legend, and so is your original Decked Out. Don’t be disappointed if there’s a little push back on the clank sound. The heartbeat became iconic of Decked Out, and had no recall to any other movie or game. And that’s kinda the point. It is #iconic.
It might still be what we go with
Tango. That observer next to the shrieker is getting triggered twice. Once when the shriecker goes off, and once when it stops shrieking.
Im.aware
Lol, something about the placement of the punctuation on the comment Tango made makes me think that he’s been getting a lot of these. Keep up the good work, Tango!
@@TangoTekLP You can silence a sculk sensor by waterlogging it, that way you'll only know that you crossed over a clank detector when it's active, because the shrieker will go "Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh."
Nevermind, I didn't watch far enough in the video!
12:25 "the test didn't go very well..."
Well as a software QA, id say it went very well.
My job is to try and break software using it as intended and unintended. And then compile a list of issues to the development team for them to fix. Rinse and repeat a few times and even breakking a few SE's later and we have the final UAT (User Acceptance Testing) before moving forward to production.
Long story short, its good something broke during Testing, rather than during the actual charity event. That would've been disastrous.
Getting a fish for a compass would be super funny though... (and don't tell anyone about the secret fish merchant hidden somewhere that actually gives you treasures for the fish)
Tango's intro music starts playing = instant happyfication
I just had an idea what if there are some relic locations that are only accessable when you have X amount of hazard and clank and maybe these could be special side missions that you pay a bit for
I think a heartbeat sound vs Jaws sound would be far more disconcerting.
A heartbeat was used in the original.
@@liamengram6326 true. Nothing says it can't be again. I still stand by that it would be far more disconcerting mentally. At least for me. The other may feel like nails on a chalkboard after a while.
@@liamengram6326 how about a custom ambiance record for the levels of clank. Could have a choice of 6 to run. The higher the level, the more terrifying the sound loop.
Decked out 3: “So it was then I realized my game logic was so complex I needed a state machine.”
Decked Out 4: “This game features a redstone CPU!!!!”
The Decked Out concept absolutely blows my mind! It was one of my favorite parts of season 7 and I always look forward to seeing updates on DO2.
Once both of your card games are done, you and beef should do one of those crossover promo events where they hand out themed special limited edition cards that are either totally useless collector fodder or absolutely game breaking
I am at the point where I'm just looking at the redstone and thinking 'hey, that's neat!' without a clue how it works 😅 I'm assuming this will be the norm for most of decked out and I'm okay with this 😁
Game devs: Lines of code
Decked out dev: Lines of redstone
So is the new "Jaws"-like noteblock output from the clankificator equivalent to the heartbeat of DO 1.0? Because I really liked the atmosphere it created. I fear putting the noteblocks on these notes could get a bit annoying after time, more than a heartbeat-style sound. Also, are those sounds able to reach the other side of the dungeon?
I'm sure he knows he'll need to place the note blocks around in various places. the sound from a note block gets softer the further you get from it, and only covers a cylindrical area with a diameter of 96 blocks and a height of 28 blocks
Using the shrieker/shulk sensor system for clank is both BRILLIANT and utterly terrifying. I love it because of the randomness, but I find it terrifying for the same reason. Just knowing that you're never going to know when each one is active is absolutely brilliant and then finding out that say, one in the crypt is active and hearing that shriek is bound to set you on high alert.
Also, we all know that we will hear Scar squeal everytime a shrieker goes off, lol
You should put a kill chamber before hermits go into the dungeon to make sure they don't forget to take armour off :o
Now that you have Clank, it's time to add Ratchet!
If tango were a super villain he’d for sure be dr. Doofenshmirtz
Wait you’re right 😂
But his creations actually succeed
@@sarahlandis289 all dr. Doof’s inventions work he just doesn’t use them properly, he’s got poor planning skills.
@@anthonyj-mss3050 true. Though I think Tango's planning skills are on point.
I've been enjoying the Build process for Decked Out so far, I missed it last time you built it but watching it now is awesome to see
About your clank detection system: Theoretically a ravager could move back and forth on top of one and completely fill up the clank meter in a very short amount of time.
And unlike in Decked Out 1 where the detection range is pretty small, since you have not enclosed these detectors in wool, they have a pretty large radius (I would even guess that it can work in the next room).
Only happens if the player is nearby
he did note that only a player would trigger this system, i assume because the skulk sensor and shrieker are player-placed.
Sculk sensors can't be triggered by mobs. Just players.
@@myrandamiller91 No sculk shriekers only triggers when players are nearby and that's what he is dedecting wit hthe observer
"The Soup Man can't be trusted because their loyalty is as thin as the broth"
Word of the week
I think it would be neat to have a little display, a miniature version of the different levels in the grand entrance hall. That way, the Hermits can learn a bit about the look of the different levels before their first run/ when they get a compass. Like "Ah, I have a level 1 compass. Which one was that again?" [Looks at the diagram] "Ah, right, the ice one."
"You can't trust the Soup People. Their loyalty is as thin as their broth." -Scar
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tango, I believe we all know the real noise clank makes is "dun, dun, dun..."
I am absolutely loving the Decked Out building videos, huge leap forward in content from the previous Decked Out! It's like watching a computer being assembled (which it is) or seeing an entire video game built from scratch (also accurate).
The Hermits' games are so crazy
My mind boggles at the behind-the-scenes work you do for Decked Out. It's brilliant 👏
Even if it wasn't intentional having "jaws" play for clank is pretty terrifying in itself
Haha yep
Your games and builds are so intricate and interesting! Decked Out 2 is going to be amazing, but Basalt Assault will be hilarious! I can't wait to see play out!!
Tango building what is essentially an entire complex subway infrastructure is SO insane and SO cool!! Also the amount of dread and anxiety that clank noise gives me is on par with the phone alarm noise and years of school trauma, truly bravo
my mans really out here creating a redstone LIN system
Suggestion: Give the hermits a tutorial room so they can learn all the basics for example: what all the different sounds are, what are some of the rules and give them a few pointers for the game to come. I think that would save a lot of time and confusion for the hermits.
+
You should add a complementary setting (or make it a card you can get) that gives you a torch for those people how use visual lighting mods to make it easier to see. Also thank you for making such amazing games in Minecraft. It inspires me every time you work on a game.
Tango is basically building vault hunters in vanilla. Absolutely madman
LOL -look how amazingly close those Decked Out items were to being burned!
Tango: gathers hundreds of pieces of ancient debris
Also Tango: doesn’t make any netherite armour whatsoever
That would be like wearing 3 lodestones! Why waste the resources?
I mean after watching his live streams, that'd require he wear armor in the first place lmao
Tango, what if you changed the “Hazard” concept to “Flux”, wherein everything in the game starts changing on you, such as routes and pathways, or maybe even objectives. It’s different enough from Clank and the names seem to pair well. Clank and Flux.
love how referred to 2019 as “recent” lol keep up the amazing work on decked out love it
It’s 3 years ago now 😬 wow
I hope this game won't be limited to Hermitcraft alone but also a separate server for us to play as well.
i may not know a thing about redstone but i really love watching tango explain how everything works. i'm learning nothing and learning everything at the same time
Just me who is desperately wanting to hear the old sound that clank made in season 7 :..:
I started watching Hermitcraft partway through season 7 when Decked Out was already finished, and started watching Tango at the beginning of season 8: it’s so much fun now to see how all the mechanisms that seemed 100% like magic watching other people’s POVs are really constructed!
Wow! I didn't even realize how perfect the new sculk stuff is for Decked Out 2! That's a super cool element, weighing between speed and noise, and could make something that maybe gives you leggings with Swift Sneak SUPER valuable
Could be neat if you coordinated with Beef and used the rare hermit and item cards from his game to do special things in the dungeon.
I believe the issue there is because Tango is using customized items and Beef is using maps, there's too much difference between the two games for them to meld well.
@@myrandamiller91 all tango needs is a named item like the maps cub is making...
It would be a pain, but you could use wool for input and concrete for output. It would double the colors you can use
The shear scope of what is required to make Decked Out is just amazing. That you can even fit all of this within Simulation Distance of the player just seems impossible. I can't imagine doing this in Vanilla without Command Blocks...
our day automatically gets better when Tango uploads :)
Instead of naming the compass u could use the custom texter mod u guys have and have the themed compasses for each level
The beauty of the clank noice was that it sounded like a heartbeat. Your heart automatically starts beating at the same pace.
Or at least that happens for me. I hope you will change the sound to the heartbeat sound again from Season 7. It is just very iconic for Decked Out.
While watching this I feel like I'm being explained me how disneyland is designed from the inside. You rock, Tango.
Modded bundled cables: "look what they have to do to mimic a fraction of our power!". I actually really like the idea of the main bus line
This has gone from "very creative" to "holy smokes that's amazing" in a blink, it feels. Without being a professional Minecrafter, I don't know I'd ever have the time to do this, and that's one of those things I hope and wish for watching Hermitcraft. There have been a few episodes that really leaned into the "Watch me do my job"-aspect. Honestly: most of Doc and Xisuma's episodes. Some of Pearl's artwork is incredible and not possible for someone like me in any reasonable amount of time. Zed's body of work this season is insurmountable. Cub is a maniac. BDubs does so much planning...
but you, Tango of the Tek: I can't even imagine. DeckedOut2 is ON PAR with Cubs entire biome building of last season. This is so awesome so watch. I am absolutely flabbergasted watching this. Please don't lose your driving force and inspiration; this is incredible.
"Their loyalty is as thin as their broth." Noice.
Good job taking the main buss line from satisfactory works really well here.Would love to see some more satisfactory now that update 6 is out!!
Just wanted to give a thought, you could have some 2nd objective compasses that can give cool collectibles or maybe a box with a bigger amount of the embers, it’d be cool to see if anyone can go for all the main ones and still get the “side quests” ones as well, and they could be very rare meaning only a few in the whole game
The Clankificator is brilliant.
Who else has a smile and starts head bopping as soon as the title music starts? 😁🎧🎵 Thank you for the happy vibes 🥰
I love the little vignettes with scar and cub sprinkled through the episode.
I love when Tango said it’s clanking time and proceeded to clank all over the place
I love the note block effects. But I have a sugestion: You can build up tension going from a Major chord (EX: 1, 5, 8) to a minor (1, 4, 8) to a diminished (1, 4, 7). Those notes, if played simultaneously make the sound feel more tense and unresolved from step to step.
They weren't breaking the law. They had that party before the no partying law was born.
Love to see how decked out is coming along. Just showed it to my sister and we are just amazed that you are doing this in minecraft. Tango hats of to you sir, this is really amazing
Oh Tango as someone who created mods. You are basically creating an event bus
Lol Scar! It's so cool to see the development of redstone this complex, redstone is so interesting being basically computer programming but physically huge in the world, massive wires and pipes carrying signals for a videogame's interaction within the same physical world of that game!
"their loyalty is as thin as their broth" absolutely killed me
I am a redstone newby, but you make the information entertaining. I'm enjoying the update videos; thank you for them!
Suggestion: put iron golems in the wall between lobby and game as to stop the vexes from getting out and to give the lobby a more disconnected from game feeling
clever idea
Tango: Gets Advancement
Zedeph: Wants to know your location
You should call Hazard/Clank something like Awakening. Headcanon: The more you take/noise you make, the more the dungeon and the ancient spirits that control it wake up. And obviously, anceint dungeon spirits are hostile and change layouts of room or open traps to remove whatever is inside the dungeon so it stops making noise.
I beg you that the clank sound uses the same notes on the note blocks as decked out 1!! it was such a satisfying sound!
i love the progression of decked out 2.. cant wait for when its finally done!
i think the game should reward you for being stealthy midgame not just from the start, so maybe clank could regen if the player becomes more stealthy midgame, by lets say, adding a snowball every some amount of time, so that it levels out rather than getting always worst no matter how stealthy you become, but thats just an idea, amazing content just what i subscribed for
Maybe there could be a card that that when you get clank, it has a 5% chance to block it. (Card is active the whole game)
It is amazingly fun to see the redstone behind decked out. One of the things I have tried to do with my redstone is give my contraptions more personality with note blocks and such, but decked out takes it to the highest level of personality and fun. I’m excited for the next episode already!
Two things. The separate colored lines for redstone almost looks like Ethernet and also I was wondering if you've thought about dustless redstone lines to reduce redstone dust lag (using rails)?
I wish I could time travel and just watch ppl playing. You are dope af my man.. crazy you do this in survival!
Something you could do also in addition to the increase in pace of the clank is have the pitch increase as well, it just adds another element of tension, the tone rising continuously without resolving or having a seeming end
Additional ideas:
1. Maze that changes when you go the wrong way or a maze with pieces of the map around the dungeon
2. Puzzles
a) recreate a sound using note blocks from previous room (changeable)
b) recreate a pattern of lamps from previous room (changeable)
3. Parkour shortcuts - risk of clank if you fall.
4. Zombified piglings or wither skeletons can be a form of punishment or to increase difficulty. ( a. They will be limited to a certain room b. Can spawn on command by sending a signal to the neither causing their release c. Won’t cause lag because they’ll be stored in neither d. Can be removed after run with a turtle egg being exposed so that fall into trap and clear for the next run.)
Tango, you are brilliantly crazy smart. The redstone is nuts and decked out 2 is going to be awesome! Decked out 1 was crazy good so can't wait to see for multiple levels😁
For the note block heartbeat, I think it would be cool if you did a combination of one on wood, one on stone and one on an iron block, and that would be a good heartbeat with a tonal element.
Can't wait to see the hermits play and dive into the redstone in the world download once the season ends
The green wool stack in the lime wool chest at 8:42 is driving me up the wall LOL 😂
That bump with red and lime, if the red is powered, it will softpower the red wool that sticks up, which will in turn power the lime redstone line. Be careful!
