    It's an awesome bike. Got my triple black a couple of months ago, and am looking forward to a ride on it every day if I can. I'm yet to do any long distance on it but it's a guarantee that I will.
    And ... Katoomba is such a beautiful place. I've visited there many times and would consider retiring there. Beautiful place, beautiful people and scenery that is among the best in the world.

    Thanks for taking the time to review. I have a 2001 HD Sportster that has over 235k miles (not KM) on the odometer. I spent many years traveling around the country on it. Then, I discovered the GSA. I feel as though I wasted valuable riding years after discovering this bike, its performance and capabilities. Actually, when I first rode it I was pretty angry at other manufacturers, feeling that THIS is what riding is SUPPOSED to feel like! I'd test ride another machine I suppose, but I can't imagine considering any other machine to purchase for my needs. I quickly realized that
    "The Ultimate Driving (riding in this case) Machine" was not a slogan but rather a simple, matter-of-fact statement. Glad to see I'm not crazy as most others who actually ride one have the same experience.

    They are superb touring bikes and great for 2 up touring. I’ve punted my GS’s over some challenging dirt roads but I would not recommend them if you are a light frame or are getting on in years. As he pointed out, they are top heavy and plain heavy. Even with the heads sticking out you really need a 2nd male to help lift them up when they fall over. I’m going for lightweight bikes in my 60’s.

    It’s still one of the most reliable and well balanced bikes in the world . I’ve had my share of other bikes, good and in some aspects, even superior to the GS, but none of them were so good overall bikes like the GS is and that’s a big advantage when we are talking about machines that are very pleasant but also that require some amount of skill to handle. Comparing all the positives and negatives side by side with other bikes, you easily will converge with my opinion. I had one five years ago still with the 1200 cc boxer engine. I sold it, had my time with other very nice bikes, and yesterday I went to my BMW dealer took home a GSA Rally. That’s how good this bikes are:- once you had one, they stick a seed into your brain and before you know you get addicted to it. In fact, all this five years that I was enjoying other bikes, I always knew that I would come back to the GS. ✌️✌️Thanks for the video, nice memories along with nice places, excellent choice for the video scenario!👌🏻👌🏻

    Amazing views! I guarantee anyone that tests this bike will fail your challenge at the end, they will fall in love! Congrats again and excited to see what you will do to it. I noticed you have the aftermarket exhaust on it, I’ve been debating it honestly because on the videos I don’t really notice much of a difference in sound and think performance improvement is negligible, let me know your thoughts when you can 🤙 cheers!

    Hi Rob, just seeking some advice. I've just sold my CVO Road Glide due to excessive buffeting. Do you get any buffeting on the GS? I am looking at the same model.

    • @ThrottleDownunder
      @ThrottleDownunder  Год назад

      I had the same problem with my Street Glide.
      On the GS, firstly the screen is manually adjustable so you can alter it a little.
      At 110km/h and above there is some dirty air around my helmet, but not harsh like it was on my SG.
      It's not perfect, but for me at 177cm, it's much better.
      I would describe it helmet movement not helmet rattling. I hope this helps

    Having been a retired GS owner I can tell you that buying the GS was a mistake. The KTM, Africa Twin is a far better options in handling and reliability. The GS is hard work on tracks unless the surface is graded like a drive way (your going find out the hard way when your confidence gets better and you start taking risks. The front end is a pig). When I dumped out of mine in 2020 the BM's were unreliable in the electronics department and still are according to current owners in the UK who constantly have issues . I had to replace my heads up display, my anti theft module and some other part with the timing in the engine. The bike was bought to tour Tasmania and Cape York. I did Tasmania and new it would not make Cape York. Have you tried getting parts for a BM in the country. I was not happy! I own a Honda these days and a HD Ultra limited M8. I am over 6 foot tall and most regard me as strong. The GS is top heavy and when you drop it, (and you will) you will wish you had kept the HD and bought a T7 or something similar. I know you have just got into the adv world but you are so far behind the 8 ball these days you should of done some more research for what's good in Australia. If you going to stick to black top or farm driveways near major cities then go for it and keep the GS but don't kid yourself if you think you can go off road with that German Highway machine. Treat it like you would treat a BMW X1 car and you might get home after every ride.
