This is great advice. I've had benign ventricular ectopics for over 20 years, sometimes on bad days, I experience upwards of 500 a day. Getting fit has definitely reduced them and it's an ongoing battle to stay relaxed and passive when they arrive. I particularly love your advice around getting used to feeling them in an active setting and building confidence in your heart and it's response to an ectopic beat during faster more intense heart rates.

It's okay, fear occurs from the unknown, get to know your ectopics. If your ectopics are less than 25,000/day , your ejection fraction is 60%+ ,your ectopics disappear on higher BPM and your heart is morphologically normal, then you are 100% safe,it's like taking a small dive underwater for 1 second, you might not be able to breath at that 1 second but your body is good enough to support that !Every fear disappears when learning more about it!

I guess I know so much about them, medically speaking. I know what causes them, and I know that they do not weaken the heart muscle over time- Unless they are part of a more complex arrhythmia pathology. I studied medicine. Lately, over the last couple of years, I have learnt to live with them, and by that, I mean They are now very much in the background of my life. There are many things you can do to help: You could try a simple, magnesium turate Supplement, Try drinking more water throughout the day, Sugary foods only make them worse, So try and minimise your sugar intake, Stress has a direct link, Various breathing techniques have made my ectopics Much less Pronounced, Regular exercise will help Build a stronger cardiovascular system. I would not go down the route of beta blockers, They have what’s called a ‘Rebound’- ie They generally work quite well to alleviate ectopics, but when the drug wears off, the ectopics become much worse- It’s a vicious cycle. Most cardiologists in the UK, try not to refer to beta blockers- Unless your ectopics Have a pathology. I have intellectualised my ectopics, And they have almost disappeared. I was lucky enough, though, to go private, and have every test I wanted- Sometimes, having lots of tests can be reassuring. Ectopic beats come in many guises, Many shapes and forms, Many appearances.. Many presentations, And so, for me, it was hard to know if there was a Pathology or not. I guess I had the money to do as many tests as I wanted, For my own reassurance. And it does help to know a lot about the heart- I probably know a great deal more about the heart than a regular doctor.

I was getting probably 7-900 per day. I started adding magnesium to very little avail, then added potassium- definite improvement. Drinking loads of water also helped (most people are dehydrated). But by far the biggest impact was incorporating 5.5 breathing, not just during a bout of ectopics but as often as you can think of it. This has had the effect of slowing my breathing in general even when I'm not doing 5.5 breathing. Now I only get about 10 ectopics per day- a dramatic improvement! As long as my breathing is below 16 breaths per minute, I seem to no longer get ectopics, which had haunted me for 5 years. It's worth cutting out processed foods and reducing alcohol as well. Like a lot of people in this thread, I found standard medical help to be of little use- ECGs, chest X-rays, blood tests. I also tried accupuncture- not much help. I hope some of this helps and sympathy for any sufferers.

I had these damned PVC for 40 years, in my experience they increase as you get older, I m going through a bad period of them right now, trying all sort of things to calm them to no avail, I had covid a month ago and i think that it is the cause of this, maybe also my insufficient vitamin D level has a part in this, however i m taking supplements, lets see how it goes. By the way i have a philips tc70 ecg machine, thats where i check myself daily. Saving thousands on doctor ecg test 😅

Mine have weakend the heart muscles..medication improved the bottom ones..heart now working at 50 percent, top still having ectopic every second heart beat. They should not be ignored, wrong advice.

Yes, But every beat is a problem. A few a day or so isn't a problem. My heart doctor said he's had one patient that it weakened their heart in all his 25 year practice. It's rare.
