- In this VFX tutorial we go through the process of making someone disappear from our very eyes! Did she step through a time portal? Random worm hole open up on the beach? Who knows, but the effect is pretty neat, and will hopefully give you some new ideas to work with!

Having switched over from the adobe suite, Fusion has been one of my features. The node based system is so much cleaner and more logical than layers. Gone are the days of having a bunch of duplicate layers of my footage for different masks, just pipe the MediaIn node into anything I need! Truly incredible

Awesome effect. I don't know that it's necessarily something that I would use on my DIY/How-to videos but it's still a neat effect.

Oh this is nice learned about the vortex in fusion now! Do you have a video going into more depth on the planar tracking node? I may have to just try it when I get home but I am fully not understanding how it completely works.

Complicated but nice to know how to do it. Can you show how to create the effect of pages turning such as in turning pages in a magazine from the front cover to the back cover of a magazine?

Thank you for the great tutorial. Is there a way so fusion starts everytime with nodes sticking to another? Or do I have to manually organize them and set it on every start? I like them stick either to the grid or to other nodes.
Appear --- I am trying to make a person appear like a Star Trek transporter or other such device. I tried this:
Polygon->MediaIn->pImageEmitter->pVortex->pRender->TimeSpeed->MediaOut
with the TimeSpeed "speed" setting set to to -1, but it takes **MANY** MINUTES to complete a render and it is only a 2 second clip.
MediaIn is a frame grab (still image, *.jpg) of the first frame of the motion clip to follow.
I tried "Render in Place" in the edit tab and DaVinci crashed.
Once it is done, it works fine ....... BUT, the frustration in the meanwhile!
Is there a better way to make these particle node effects move in the reverse direction from their default?
e.g. pVortex sucks the input into a vortex. What if we want the vortex to spit out something instead?
Maybe reverse the clip of the person you want to be spat out , then do the same things as in the tutorial. After that, you can reverse the whole clip
Ok how about slowing the process and going into detail so that us grade 1 students could learn how to do it please?

you are free to choose any aspect ratio and resolutiuon in davinci resolve. Only thing you need to know is, change resolution in project settings before importing any footage. when importing media you are asked to change project/timeline resolution to media resolution, answer: no
or is your question about something else... like having a 1920x1080 project timeline and you want to have a 2:1 aspect ration fusion clip overlay the base timeline? If so, you can use the cropping function in the inspector for that fusion clip.
I have a problem that after exporting the audio isn't aligning with video but when in davinci the video is playing perfectly with audio what could be the problem

Idk why but whenever I look at these types of videos for DaVinci there's always one portion, in the beginning, that doesn't have enough explanation and it makes the rest of the video irrelevant due to not being able to get past that one part. if your able to keep up cool effect though!
