I read from several bird owners that several sources say that pothos is toxic to pets, though they’ve never experienced serious issues, even after their birds ate some of the leaves. The reason why some sources say that pothos is poisonous, is because of this: “Pothos contains insoluble calcium oxalate.” Thankfully, birds will not die because of this substance, but they could get ill from it, so it’s best to keep it away from your bird. I hope your lovebird will not experience any side effects from the money plant! 😊 The bird owners on this forum didn’t have any serious issues, thank God: forums.avianavenue.com/index.php?threads/is-pothos-bird-safe.252565/
You can watch out for the possible symptoms that are listed here below: “This plant contains insoluble calcium oxalate, a substance that can cause adverse reactions in birds when ingested. The severity of the reaction depends on the quantity consumed by the bird; generally, a small part of a leaf may not be as harmful as consuming a whole leaf 1. Symptoms of pothos toxicity in birds might include vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain 2.” “Common symptoms include oral irritation, excessive drooling, and vomiting2. In more severe cases, birds might develop diarrhea and abdominal pain3. The severity of the symptoms depends on the amount of plant material ingested, with larger amounts causing more significant health problems.” “In addition to physical symptoms, birds exposed to pothos may exhibit changes in behavior. As birds experience discomfort and irritation from consuming the plant, they might become more anxious, agitated, or restless. Owners may notice their bird spending more time preening as a coping mechanism for the discomfort. Furthermore, if the bird is in significant distress due to the pothos ingestion, it could potentially become more aggressive or lethargic.” foliagefriend.com/is-pothos-toxic-to-birds/
Turtle vine, I have them! They like to eat it very much they come to me running if they see me holding the turtle vine, they only eat the vines tho only if I give them the leaves they eat them 🍃
Amazing video on plants 🪴 😍 👏 you are becoming great day by day 😊 hope you have million subscribers soon 😄 one day I thought giving them rose but then my hearts said no I should not you cleared my doubt now thank you 😊 😉
From what I read, neem wood and leaves are not safe for budgies, but neem oil can be used against mites and parasites. I don't have personal experience with it though.
Grass's great. It needs a week to grow, budgies and tiel bro eat in in almost two days and have fun foraging the roots in the soil. Then annoying parents take it away for some unknown silly reasons.🙄
I used to think the same but then I found out there are two unsafe grasses. I think it's very unlikely to find those two types, but it's still good to know about it 😊
But these birds were raised in captivity. Meaning in the wild, you'll only ever find green parakeets. And even if you do release them to there flocks in there natural habitats, the green wild budgies will actually attack any budgie that has any sort of color on them besides green. Fun fact. I do agree with you, birds should be free and out in the wild. But you gotta understand that's just never gonna happen because you got the black market hunting down exotic birds, which than they sell on the black market. Also, gotta understand that as long as there greed, money involved there'll always be birds in cages unfortunately. And these animals, or any animal they need a home just like you and me. But unfortunately not everyone gets a good home or are loved. It's sad, but it's how society is, which is very sad.
Insightful video, thanks! The topic of plants is more complicated than I thought
Glad it was helpful! 😊
We have turtle vines and never knew its edible to budgies. Thanks for the information
That's great 😊 You're welcome!

Is neem plant is good for bidgie birds
From what I read, neem wood and leaves are not safe for budgies, but neem oil can be used against mites and parasites. I don't have personal experience with it though.
Fully safe in moderation👍

Haha yes. I have two plants now and kind of rotate them because I don't want them to be completely eaten in a few days 😋
My dudgies like to eat corriender leaves
Ours really like them too 😊 But I only give it sometimes because it can block calcium absorption a bit.

I used to think the same but then I found out there are two unsafe grasses. I think it's very unlikely to find those two types, but it's still good to know about it 😊

Humans should stop having bird pets
Why?

Hii, can budgies eat lemongrass green part? School i give it occasionally or daily?
@@Redfllol7000 according to what I read they can eat it. But since it’s a strong plant I would only give it occasionally.
