Most videos show how to unscrew an easy-access base for a slightly different model rather than the one I have with the small slit on the bottom. So glad you posted this for the "slit-type"! Mission accomplished.

Mine broke at least a week ago but I was reluctant to throw it away. I guess I thought it was going to heal itself! Now I know I was just waiting for you to show me how to fix it! I love this thing and hadn't realized how much I rely on it.
You can also substitute the plastic base gear with one of the blade rubber gears. It worked for me and I found the rubber to rubber contact more reliable and durable.

Thanks. I was actually able to take the piece out of our ancient Betty Crocker smoothie maker that died yesterday, and transfer it to a "broken" magic bullet that my son recently brought home. The most difficult part was finding the screw driver that I somehow managed to lose halfway through this project. ⁉️
When I do the last removal step, holding both sides in place and rotating the gear clockwise I can't seem to hold the rear screw in place even with proper equipment. I have good grip strength so I'm unsure why it's not working...
Bob..I understand and how to change the gear head, but the plastic shield that is mounted beneath the gear head on my magic bullet is completely cracked everywhere. Does this replacement part come with that shield too? How important is it that the shield is not broken in order for the machine to function properly after I replace the gear? I don't see where the shield is part of the replacement package

@@yudelkam.5465 i used one L shape tool to hold screw still, and another tool to turn clockwise. it finally loosened and came off. one held in one hand the other held in the other hand, at the same time. clockwise usu tightens screws, but with bullet, clockwise loosens it.
Hey, I bought the replace base gear from you, but it is just IMPOSSIBLE to take out the old base. the plastic around the old one is totally broken and gone, so its just the gold middle thing left. I tried every kind of pliers i could find and couldnt make it budge! i even got two other friends together to try and help and it didnt work. feel like i wasted my money on replacement parts and should have just invested that money in a new magic bullet
I had the same problem. I put a pair of vice grips on the "gold middle thing". On the bottom, I held the giant plastic gear with a towel. It spun right off. Make sure that you are spinning it the correct way. It is reverse thread.

Why would a magic bullet heat up and smoke up? Can I replace any parts or would this concern the motor of it.
