CHL still has low prize money. Thats the biggest problem I would say. Winning the Champions League means nothing for most of the teams.

While lower in prestige than individual national leagues (which makes sense due to the amount of history) winning CHL is still viewed upon pretty highly from what I've seen. Saying that it "means nothing" for the teams is just straight-up wrong.
Here the issue was moreso the fact that it's still groupstage, combined with the home team having a playoffs spot already secured. Which explains why there weren't as many fans.
