      Thanks :)
      I think, they stopped producing this model when the Roland VK8 came in 2002. It's a good clone, with a nice and full sound and very durable (wood and metal).
      The weight however (15kg) and the fact you havn't a accoustic piano made me sell it after some years with concerts.

    Great playing! I have a question, maybe you could help me out with it: Is it possible to send/output the split bass to a different amplifier than the organ part? Would be very useful in a live situation (bass amp + Leslie for example)
    Thanks!

    • @moorglade8602
      @moorglade8602  3 года назад +1

      Thanks :)
      Splitting should be possible if you use the Leslie connector on the VK7 for the organ sounds. But I have to admit I never tried that.

      @@moorglade8602 Thanks! I was hoping to split the keyboard, let's say into a bass sound (two octaves or so) and an electric piano sound. I want the bass portion to go to a bass amp while the piano portion would go to a guitar/organ amp. Thought that maybe one could achieve the signal separation by panning one signal to the left and the other to the right. So it should be possible to use the stereo output and receive two mono signals: one bass + one piano. ...What do you think does that sound possible to you on the VK7? ...I don't even know if you have the option to pan the splits 😄 ...Can you?

    How did you get that rhodes sound at the beginning? When selecting the e-piano on mine it doesn't sound like a rhodes, but rather a CP80 or something. Is there a way to edit it? Thanks!

    What are the songs you played?

    • @moorglade8602
      @moorglade8602  3 года назад +3

      1. Supertramp - Bloody Well Right
      2. Focus - Sylvia
      3. Boston - Foreplay (comes before Longtime)
      4. Booker T. & The MG's - Green Onions
      (The "churchlike" organ part was just improvised. I wanted to show that kind of sound too)

  • @-x21-
    @-x21- 2 года назад

    Supertramp used a wurlitzer. The sound you played was a Rhode. Also Green Onions doesn't have the Leslie spinning if any Leslie.

      @@-x21- I will tone down my rebuke; if you were purchasing a transcription which you expected to include the settings and exact instrumentation you could be justified in your complaints. You could also raise the point that a clavinet part is not represented, or it should sound more like an L100 or C3, etc. This is a free demonstration which tries to display the parameters of the instrument. end of sermon...yes, your observations are accurate.

    Hey I have a Roland vk7 and sometimes mine will randomly shut off in the middle of me playing but this only happens once within the first 2 minutes of me turning it on , does this ever happen to you ? And ideas of what the problem may be ?

    • @moorglade8602
      @moorglade8602  5 лет назад

      A friend (who owns it too and made me get one) had the problem, that the VK7 shut up started again when he hit the keys too hard in the area of the power plug (due to a loose contact at the power supply).
      Not sure, if you maybe have a similar problem?

    • @Tarkus406
      @Tarkus406 5 лет назад

      My VK-7 does the same thing! I think mine doesn't always do it within the first few minutes of use, though. It could happen at any time. Thankfully not very often at all, but it happens nonetheless. Another thing I've noticed is Overdrive and Reverb changing randomly during playing. Has this happened to either of you as well?

    • @moorglade8602
      @moorglade8602  3 года назад

      @@Tarkus406 Sorry for the late answer.
      Changing Overdrive and Reverb sounds like dirty potentiometers. Shouldn't be impossible to change them. You could also try contact spray on the potentiometer (only if you familiar with electronics of course), though thats only a tempory fix at best.

    How did you get the electric piano sound?

    • @moorglade8602
      @moorglade8602  3 года назад +2

      By selecting it ;)
      No seriously, the VK7 hase some bread and butter sounds (called "orchestral voices" ), like strings, brass, choir or E-Piano.
      In my opinion the E-Piano is the best of them. The other sounds aged not that well.

      @@rickydenotredame ok was puzzled by this as well, maybe yours is the same - my E piano had chorus on which made it sound super cheesy - EDIT>ORCH PARAMTER>right arrow til you get to Chorus send. It does sound better when off, still nothing too special but usable at least. Hope that helps!
