My 92 yo dad gave me a baggie of seeds a few years ago. I thought he said they were radish seeds. So I planted 42 seeds. All 42 germinated. In a month, they were too tall. In 2 months we realized we were growing okra for the first time. I picked 6 to 20 okra per day, for 6 months. My family and ALL my neighbors are a lifetime of okra in one season. Incredible amount of okra. Dad eats them raw if they are 3 inches in size, or smaller. Thanks Ken....
We are scheduled to start planting first week of march in spain and will plant around 250,000 plants and seeds, hopefully by the first frost we will have 60 tons.
How haven't you cut a finger off? Okra doesn't need to be cut like that. I've grown it for years and like it whole. Sear in hot wok with a few drops of olive oil,fresh garlic and pink salt. So darn good. Mulch your okra deeply,water when needed. It will flourish in the heat. Best veggie ever!
I'm at a lost for words, I'm going to save this because when I get out of this apartment and back where I can start back to growing my own food I'm going to need one of those okra cutters. Well done my friend, in Greece we pick them when they are 4 times smaller!! We don't eat them so big and we don't cut their backs and tips... Plus we don't chop them in pieces, we boil them or cook them usually with chicken in tomato sauce whole unchoped.

ibrahima babou I think both! If you don’t prune them you would need to plant them 4 foot apart and the rows farther apart too. I didn’t prune a couple years ago and it was a jungle in there. Had a lot of insect problems too.Also all the energy goes straight to the okra and they grow faster. So yes I believe both! Hey thanks for watching and please check our all my other videos .

Tim I didn’t water at all last year. It rained so much last year it really hurt my yield. Okra really likes it hot and dry.. I have my rows ready now and will be planting soon. Thanks for watching .Good luck!

Can you do carrots or cukes for pickles or beets. Can you adjust the width for the cuts? Gosh it would make my life so much easier. Do you can anything? It's super easy. I can everything from beef, beef stew, broths, chicken, pork, pickles, bananas for banana bread, sausage, fruit syrups and all jellies and flour. I think my favorite is bread and butter pickles and relish.I ferment vegetables too they are great and good for your gut health. If you have ten minutes to mix up some salt water and cut some veg. you can ferment. I bake yeast bread and sourdoughs sprout and mill flour only half the time. It is very time consuming. I'm not even a prepper but could live a year with what I got going on it's even under all the beds.With all you grow and meat you hunt it would be a great thing if you could can some. if you have a lot of something and it might go bad. It would be great if you could open a restaurant a farm to table type. With what you grow and hunt. I don't know what the restrictions are for the meat you hunt. I'm sure people have said that to you. It's a huge risk with the crazy that's going on now. Your pretty amazing. Oh and dang cute lol. I did see some girls here Yay! Have a great night

As long as you have some ground, you can get okra to grow . All it needs water and fertilizer . Got to have hot weather to make it happen .
