In 1974. I took the Culver El shuttle from Ditmas Avenue on the F line, went across the platform and rode the train to that station. The stations all had wooden platforms and the original iron fences by the roof columns with ad plates for ads for advertisements. In May of that year, the Culver shuttle was closed. The R27s were used in a 4 car long train at all times on one track. This el was built for wooden el trains and steel subway trains and was opened in 1919 and later to Coney Island in 1920. The last line to be built for Coney Island.
This station appeared as “59th Street” in the 1982 movie “Crocodile Dundee”. It’s in the last scene, when Paul Hogan is climbing over the heads of everyone on the platform to get at Linda Kozlowski. You can see the “9” tiles on the station walls.
great adventure but please stop or slow down the jerking of the camera. stay in one place and slowly move it so we can see all that you see. thank you much. love the places you go to.
Pretty good footage of the station. I tried to go there years ago but there were multiple MTA workers guarding the staircases. Hopefully I can try again soon. Other than that, good video. Just a few more stations and you completed the abandoned nyc subway stations. Also I suggest trying to explore the abandoned the rockaway beach line
@@urbexsurfer8196 yea the rockaway Beach branch. You know areas like ozone Park, Woodhaven junction, Parkside, etc. Also I'm not sure if you explored this area in one of your vids, but also there is some abandoned tracks in hunterspoint Ave that's also worth checking out
@@captainunderpants4622 It looks like 76th Street was planned, but never built. Perhaps hundreds of workers, contractors, and subcontractors would have been involved in its construction; so if it had been built, there would be personnal to attest to this.
@@urbexsurfer8196 42nd lower level is not entirely demolished. The 7 extension divided the station into two sections, north and south of the new tracks. I don't know how to get in but I know there will be plenty of stuff to see
@@xxliam_030xx3 I've been to that station already and I didnt get caught I'll upload that video sumday cause I have good videos planned soon and for the future
You just don't keep your camera sill long enough for anyone to see anything. Those cars are for transporting lengths of welded rail. I was there when those platforms were in revenue service.,
I mostly post my surfing vids on my instagram account "urbexsurfer1" and if u want me to make a "train surfing in nyc part 2" I can do that I just have to get more footage?
It is not worth risking your life standing on the roof of a running train. You can do better things with your life like having a hobby that can earn you money.

@@urbexsurfer8196 cool. I might do the same for the future. I already been to Montauk cutoff but still, wanna explore more
instead of mta making new stations they need to reopen the abandoned stations to help flow of the systems
Found out about this station from the joker movie
Maybe you can find 76th Street, out in Queens? Or prove it doesn't exist? It's like the Area 51 of the subway.
Be a heck of a get, either way.
nope it doesnt ive been there

There's gotta be something that space can be used for. What a waste SMH.
You know why not rebuild this station and have the B Train on weekends go from 145th street to 9th avenue downstairs
This were they filmed joker when joker shot them 3 guys in the train
