I do think Japanese men are more comfortable with themselves than American men. For a few years I had a male Japanese assistant. He was very neutral in his masculine/feminine energy. But very decisive and very confident. To me masculinity is overrated...especially the "bro" type we see here in the US where masculine men spend more time worrying about their outward appearance than looking inward to create their own happiness.

Is part of male intrasexual competition. This competition is among men to get the women, and yes we still have it, despite all the modernity and apparent social changes because this has nothing to do with the superfluos structure of society, this has to do with evolution. Women also have this intersexual competition.
not only that, is about having a proportionate, v-shaped, symmetric toned body, and women feel attracted to that type. Part of this is to have thick neck proportionate to the shoulders but not to thick and the shoulders not to big because then it becomes too much and too weird.

Furthermore, our hobby is hiking. We also do other sports sometimes like climbing. So going to gym is also necessary to enjoy those hobbies more. Then its possible to reach the top of a mountain 😊

That old gentlemen got it right. Others confuse looks with masculinity. That's only a small part of it. There is plenty of muscular guys that spend a bit too much time looking at themselves in a mirror. That is a feminine trait.
Perhaps you have a partner that stays home an cooks and cleans for you but that doesn't make you masculine. That makes you a child and it makes her your mother. Even when she cooks and cleans for you, you should be able to do that yourself, if there is a need. Can you fix something around your house or do you call a guy to fix it for you? Can you lead a team at work, or do you let your team take away your leadership and have you just stand there in silence? Can you decide what clothes look good on you without asking your partner or without looking up on internet the latest trends and just coping what others advertise?
One example, on many RUclips videos that I came across is guys doing unimportant things to impress women. Some RUclipsrs would interview young women and ask them if they would date a guy that has an android phone. Most of the very young women in these interviews say no. Both men and women will get products just because they are popular not because they are practical or useful. Spending insane amounts of money on accessories is a feminine trait. Or other example, as a guy you should have a nice cologne. But do you really have to buy the one that is few hundred bucks?
Masculine male leads, takes care of himself and his family, works to build his future and a safety net, doesn't waste money on trinkets and the latest accessories, he keeps his life and home in order, he doesn't let someone make him look like a fool in front of others and can respond without use of violence and without yelling. He can do all that and still have fat around his waist.
Warren Buffet might look like crap, but he built his wealth himself. Granted he wasn't from a poor family but he didn't just inherit everything from his father. He didn't just slave for others, he took initiative. He studied where to invest. He was smart about how he spent his money. He lead others. He didn't let others make decisions about his wealth. He didn't waste his money on buying trinkets and the latest accessories. Did he make bad decisions and effed up? In my opinion, yes. I didn't say he was epitome of masculinity but he is a great example of some things most of us fail to achieve.
Just to add, I am not saying you have to be rich to be masculine. I am saying you don't have to be muscular and trendy to be masculine.

It is a known FACT that women rule the roost at home. HIS earnings are taken by HER and he gets an allowance 8:07 Grandma rules, Mother rules; get the picture? WIFE RULES! OR else! Think the wrath of the wife is all they have to contend with? How about those women ganging up on him? Hence the Japanese quip 'fall in love with an angel, marry a demon.' Hence why a lot of men work long hours at work to avoid going home OR out drinking etc !
