  • Roland GK-1 pickup into GR-300 (echo and reverb added through POD HD-500). Soloing over short GR-300 chordal loop, first straight with no envelope then using Duet function (I have one button set to a fourth below and one with a fifth above but only use the fifth above in this clip) and then envelope function. Did not invert the VCF envelope or play with resonance but this briefly shows the basic tonal palette of the wonderful GR-300. No other guitar synth is as good as the 300 for pure tone and expressive capability.

Very nice tone you get out of this machine. I have this too - bought it back in 83 and i was fascinated with it for some time but then i just left it is its case and almost forgot all about it. But i always loved and still play the guitar i bought it with, the G303, a sweet sounding and beautiful axe btw. But your video has revived my interest in the synth part. I think i am going to re-open that case.

That's awesome! I actually haven't gotten mine out in a while. Maybe I should do the same.

@@DavidLee07 Great ! btw, what guitar controler do you use in this video ? Is it Roland model οr something else with Roland electronics ?

@@theo9952 In the video, I'm using a regular guitar with a vintage Roland pickup that I have (gives you everything except hex fuzz). I now have a Roland G-505 guitar so I can add hex fuzz 🙂

    What is that Pod thing?

It's just my old pod that I was using to add delay and reverb before going into the PA. Cheers!
