    For me I like both camera apps, why? Because:
    Camera iOS: you can burst photos, good camera quality, timelaspe, slowmotion and more!
    Nightcap app (really like): best for astrophotography with star trails, better quality photo, meteor, timelapse, long exposure, star mode, ISS mode, more zoomed in camera (maybe) and more!
    That's why I like both 😁 (really nice like nightcap better than any camera for astrophotography)😇
    Great video 😃

      Thanks mate. I think for a model prior to iPhone 11 it will work better for the single star photo, but the 11 night mode I found to be better. Totally agree on the other points though. Interestingly, I have found a way to make it better for stars. I think it’s in the Friday’s video. Thanks for watching mate👍👍

    Well worth the purchased of this app
    Combined with the native iPhone night mode for different situations
    It makes astrophotography more fun
    I’m really happy with it

    Great!!!!! I can change w/b on nightcap, can u change w/b on the iPhone?? Have a great day

    Ps 9.91sec the night cap star mode exposure time. If you try long exposure or even star trails and you can take the photo manually after 20-25 secs!! Just a thought 👍🏼👍🏼

      Thanks mate, I really wanted a head to head with the ease that is the night mode on the native app. Next time I’m out, I’ll give that a go. I’m pretty sure I’ve tried the star trails mode and it wasn’t that good. I’ll have another look. Not sure what you mean by red light? Send me a fb message with example of it if you like.

    Excellent video. Have you tried either Neural Cam (Now called NightMode) or Slow shutter ?

    • @ShayneMostyn
      @ShayneMostyn  4 года назад

      Thanks mate, I have done a video on Neural Cam, it’s due to go live next week. I have tried slow shutter. There is a video there already. I think the light painting one.

    Thanks for all your help and efforts. As per your request some examples of the “red”on the iPhone night camera ( I’ve deleted a lot but I think you’ll see my issue, THST YOU DONT SEEM TO HAVE, so it must just be me lol
    Theses is nightcap
    I’m not sure if it’s Milky Way or just that Red light??
    THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN FOR THE VIDEOS. I understand that you’re doing the comparisons between nihht cap and iPhone camera in night mode!!. I guess nightcap can be used for other effects like star Trails and video!!. A different video lol👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺 And thank you so much for being there, see you Friday
    have a great week!
    Anthony
    Ps the light painting is harder than it looks!!! Especially to get an even light. I’m going to get a larger torch 🔦. The one you suggested is perfect, but theses free are 50m away!!
    I’ll keep trying!!
    My wife’s car under the Milky Way 👍🏼👍🏼 please send me a email address, I’ve tried to reply but RUclips keeps sending it back!!

      I saw those on Instagram mate. It looks like your white balance may be causing the issue for you. Its one of the sliders on the nightcap app.

    I’ve enjoyed your videos and have been using new Nightcap app, but have a question:
    How do you find and record your settings after you have taken a astrophoto so you can make changes.?
    Thanks

      There is an app called photo investigator. It will tell you the details of a photo. I have done a video on it, it’s due to go live next Friday. 👍

    Hi shayne, with nightcap there is a long exposure setting which allows u to leave the exposure on for as long as u want, longer than 30 seconds even. my version of the iphone hasnt got night mode so im unable to make a comparison but i wonder if nightcap can outperform the native camera app with long exposure times?

    • @ShayneMostyn
      @ShayneMostyn  4 года назад +2

      Gday James, thanks for the comment mate. I found that one a little later when I did a video on the ISS mode. My video last week was using the long exposure mode on an iPhone X. I did another video when I compared a 30 second nightcap shot with the night mode, they’re pretty close, but I think the night mode has it. Thanks for watching!👍👍

    i mostly use nightcap because it takes better northern light photos with my iphone xr witch only has 1 camera and because i can change around with the time laps to slow it or make it go faster

    I have an SE2, and the NightCap app is probably better. Cost of app beats an upgrade.

    I hate the selfie camera of my iphone 11 during low light
