After reading the WN, I honestly pity Makoto. The man wanted nothing more than to live a simple merchant lifestyle and yet, when Godess can whisk away at any moment to an unreasonable battlefield, he can't afford to rest on his laurels.
Though, in the novel, it was much dire situation. Imagine your two fingers got cut off by Sofia getting the jump on you and you can't heal yourself and your main job class is an archer. In the anime, it made look easy, but it was not. It was one of the three life threatening situations he has faced in the novel. Though, Sofia won't survive in Season 2.
The part that did it for me was the carpet bombing followed by the tatical nuclear strike. I truly wonder if Sophia and Lancer started to regret their decision after seeing the sky turn into fire.
0:42 the sound... it just brings me dread like no other I LOVE IT!! god I could repeat this scene a million times and still be in Awe at the beauty of this Indiscriminate annihilation. Brings a tear to my eye.
I like how they didn't explain any of their powers and we just got to piece it together. Like the little guy is actually the dragon the girl defeated and her armor and sword were part of him. That's why he was in pain when the sword broke and he lost a leg when her armor was destroyed.
@@Ramsey276oneThere is a lot of piecing together to be done that improves this show by the way. Also, while some things are similar to slime, it definitely didn't copy anything as it was slime that *"drew inspiration"* from Tsukimichi.
Let it be known that as Kuzunoha was falling, he fired those fireballs from high up in the atmosphere that he was just basically releasing a meteor shower from how the fireballs had to shoot down. Streaming through the air, gaining momentum and speed, they were simply just the light firepower that he released before he went nuclear on everyone indiscriminately.
Given the magical attack of that scale, and likely how sufficiently potent it was; I’ll just assume that not only he nuked the place and formed a massive crater, which was then filled in to create a lake; there were victims of his decimation that he could might have frozen to the point where their molecules will cease all functions and become dust scattered in the wind; along with others with varrious injuries.
To freeze molecules would mean it's close to absolute zero which is a lot more terrifying but just freezing someone solid like they showed is deadly enough on a similar but less terrifying scale. When frozen, ice crystals form in individual cells essentially shredding everything from blood cells to brain cells. If thawed you'd look fine but be way beyond healing.
0:52 Damn, he just turned that stored Magic Rings, his Arrow and his Mana into a 1 Massive Nuke. Kind of reminds me of the Colossal Titan Nuke from Shingeki No Kyojin (Attack On Titan).
Funny thing is that he did not think that he would nuke the place. He just assumed that it would send a goodbye gift that they would be able to counter. But it was like 100 times more effective.
He later said that he threw all that "with the intention of annoying them" yeah... Who drops a tactical nuke on someone to "annoy them." You drop a tactical nuke to ANNIHILATE them.
The best part is, that attack was on the scale of a grand magic that a full team of circling mages could only dream of accomplishing, and it was just a basic spell. How do you turn a basic spell into a strategic-class siege magic?!😂
Well, by definition a tactical nuke is on the small end of nuclear weapons. It's meant to destroy limited areas. If you want to annihilate everything, strategic nukes are the way to go.
@@pitioti The thing I really enjoy about this series is how it plays with the "MC is overpowered" trope. In this case, Makoto is so powerful that he needs a ton of power restricting gear just so he can peacefully exist in this world, otherwise everyone will perceive and fear him as... something like eight demon lords in one?
The rings add a further dampener-like effect in addition to his coat, which takes the brunt of the Mana Suppression. If he takes off everything that suppresses his Mana? He's just a walking, talking Tsar Bomba at that point with a hair trigger.
I feel like the title is not so appropriate this time, Makoto also erased much of the human army. Anyway, Sofia and Lancer deserved it, they were such pretentious jerks that Makoto couldn't even reason with.
I agree with the first part but not the second. Makoto was teleported surrounded in the glow of the goddess to a battlefield in the middle of the demon armies approaching path, unless he was supposed to surrender in her name there was nothing to talk about.
@@Eraiso I mean, Makoto was clearly trying to escape and not very interested in fighting at first, Sofia and Lancer just acted like pretentious jerks and didn't listen to reasons. Attack first and think later, a classic for the inhabitants of the goddess world, brutes in every sense.
@@diostaku2 i think makoto definitely could have done a better job of at least trying to explain himself, but i think the blame is mostly on sofia and lancer, and the goddess especially. I mean, imagine just trying to sign up for summer school and you suddenly get teleported to the middle of a battlefield.
The episode before: Oh no.. I killed a human intentionally. Last episode: *commits genocide* I wonder if he destroys the whole realm at the end of the series.
It's not genocide, just a measly army or two. Surely by picking up weapons they knew they could die. Now if he started deliberately wiping out towns it would be different...
It's more like Makoto is turning off all his debuffs, in order to hide his magically aura he's constantly trying to suppress/drain his mana, he simply stopped doing that then attacked.
To be fair, he thought he had a good range on those rings’ power. But he didn’t take into account that the one that went off in the city was being hella suppressed by numerous levels of defense.
Come to think of it, since he was planning to leave on a journey, these rings were probably FRESH ones. Meaning this is just the amount of power that they absorbed from him in a very short amount of time.
There is something else that isn't explained.... The dragon guy, the human and demon army were trying to nerf that thing so it wasn't even in its maximum output
He froze everything. He turned everything including dust into ice and then it melted, that's what became that big lake. He froze all the soil, air, living creatures, dust everything in that instant to ice.
@@shayan7579 he doesn't increase his mana when he uses his bow, he raises his mana when he stretches his consciousness so thin it basically stops existing and then reforms it. It's the meditation thing he does when he practices archery.
The one thing the Anime didn’t explain that aside from what she did to Makoto was that she sealed his one of his skill . Also you can easily miss the fact that Mitsurugi was the dragon she defeated.Well Makoto mainly defeated the demons 😝 plus. Mio saved Makoto though .A lake was formed. This show really grew on me and had me laughing and feeling awful as Makoto felt it. This had darker moments, much darker of how he killed that woman which is much darker than what Rimuru went through
Might be weird but rewarching this scene for me the most satisfying part is when he's unconscious and ragdolling towards the earth then disappearing into the cloud portal. Like the animation, music and the little sound affect of him being teleported was so satisfying to me 🤣
This was just a fraction of his power combined with his overloaded rings... and he effectively created a lake from the force of impact, if he were to go all out, he could destroy a kingdom just like Tomoe and Mio did by competing last time
@Dr.HooWho and he continues to grow stronger, whenever he's practicing in the demiplane his power just grows, which is why when he's absolutely focused tomoe and Mio feel like he stopped existing because he was zero out his mind and to them it feels like he's dying
I love how it's the enemies fault as he didn't even want to fight. He also completely wins and doesn't even know how to utilize his power not to mention he was separated from his three very powerful allies and he was being ganged up on.
Wow, Ms. Goddess! Congratulations! You're hair-brained scheme to get Makoto killed instead got both the demon AND THE HUMAN armies destroyed and in the end, quite possibly made things worse! Way to go! Absolutely genius move!
considering the human army was in full rout, and one of the hero's was probly going to die losing part of your army to save the rest and 2 of your vips, and slay are large part of the foes army was better than what was going to happen

An element I love about this series is that even though it seems friendly and fun on the surface, their is a deep running darkness underneath that. When the start to show the other heroes we will see more of that. This easily became one of my absolute favorites in an instant.

The part that did it for me was the carpet bombing followed by the tatical nuclear strike.
I truly wonder if Sophia and Lancer started to regret their decision after seeing the sky turn into fire.
Yes. Carpet bomb to take out their AA, and a tactical nuke to deal with their ground units.
Doesn't really seem that way from their conversation, at least from what Sophia had to say.

POV: *The Americans found your oil*
Given the magical attack of that scale, and likely how sufficiently potent it was; I’ll just assume that not only he nuked the place and formed a massive crater, which was then filled in to create a lake; there were victims of his decimation that he could might have frozen to the point where their molecules will cease all functions and become dust scattered in the wind; along with others with varrious injuries.
Like final fantasy Diamond Dust attack but on a grander scale
To freeze molecules would mean it's close to absolute zero which is a lot more terrifying but just freezing someone solid like they showed is deadly enough on a similar but less terrifying scale. When frozen, ice crystals form in individual cells essentially shredding everything from blood cells to brain cells. If thawed you'd look fine but be way beyond healing.
You are not only correct but you accurately described it near enough to how the WN did. Kudos
As the comment right above me says, that’s almost exactly how the attack was described in the WN, the anime was a little underwhelming.
And remember it just a measly basic water spell that he hasn't completely learned yet
They underestimated him and he tore them to pieces
They looked down at him and got what they just deserved.
The anime went balls to the walls in the last 2 episodes!
The studio be like: "Come back for Season 2 ya hear?"
His nuke would effectively be bigger you ever played cod ghosts with the oden well his arrow was the same property
He later said that he threw all that "with the intention of annoying them" yeah...
Who drops a tactical nuke on someone to "annoy them."
You drop a tactical nuke to ANNIHILATE them.
In Makoto's defense, he didn't expect the attack to be that grand.
The best part is, that attack was on the scale of a grand magic that a full team of circling mages could only dream of accomplishing, and it was just a basic spell. How do you turn a basic spell into a strategic-class siege magic?!😂
If he really wanted them dead, he could have blasted half the whole continent away.
Well, by definition a tactical nuke is on the small end of nuclear weapons. It's meant to destroy limited areas. If you want to annihilate everything, strategic nukes are the way to go.
I like how Sofia AFTER ALL THAT still think she has any chance against him xD That is some confidence there xD

@@kingkiller1451 Not really, I saw a lot very funny and hilarious but this one is a bit biased lol.

Like the animation, music and the little sound affect of him being teleported was so satisfying to me 🤣
This was just a fraction of his power combined with his overloaded rings... and he effectively created a lake from the force of impact, if he were to go all out, he could destroy a kingdom just like Tomoe and Mio did by competing last time
Except, Tomoe and Mio did not destroy a kingdom in their competition. They only leveled a small adventurers town way out in the boonies.
Wait so hes the strongest character in destruction output?
@Dr.HooWho and he continues to grow stronger, whenever he's practicing in the demiplane his power just grows, which is why when he's absolutely focused tomoe and Mio feel like he stopped existing because he was zero out his mind and to them it feels like he's dying

I love how it's the enemies fault as he didn't even want to fight. He also completely wins and doesn't even know how to utilize his power not to mention he was separated from his three very powerful allies and he was being ganged up on.
To be fair, Makoto miscalculated the amount of mana that was on the rings, he meant for a tatical retreat, ended up deploying a tatical nuke.
This is kinda like a god's wrath destroying the battlefield so the armies don't fight. He legit wrote a legend there.
