Hey Kyle it’s obvious you are great at what you do but us novice installers need more info on the electrical connections especially for a Ranger midsize and full size please make another video explaining in more detail the electrical connections. This is an expensive accessory and nobody wants to spend even more money by having a dealer install it.
Installed this on my 2018 Sportsman 850 ESP and the wire is exposed in the front because the cover that is removed for the winch install is solid. Would not recommend this for 850/1000 until Polaris provides an OEM solution that protects the exposed wire.
Kyle or anyone who knows, I have a Ranger 500 EFI and the winch got stuck in the in position (blade up). It won’t go out (no sound), “in” just clicks. It has a wired remote. TIA (I am a para in a wheelchair and no Polaris dealer close enough. )
Has anyone yet solved the problem with the winch cable stopping to quickly to properly use the snowplow?
Polaris: has this problem been solved?
I'm attempting to instal this on my 2016 570 full-size ranger. According to both polaris dealer and the polaris website it is supposed to work on my model. I have no clue where the 2 shorter connections attach and you don't even show doing this in your video. Also, I don't see another keyed-power connection.
Need a winch install video on the 850 high lifter
Ya what about the high lifter 850??? There’s no orange wire by the radiator
Can you make a video installing on a UTV like a Polaris Ranger 2018 570 eps?
Auto stop is only working with the remote for us… not when using the handlebar. Any suggestions?
the only problem is, now that I had it installed the winch link is too long and it doesn't pick the plow up. Will have to fabricate a link that is at least 3" shorter. Thanks Polaris...great engineering.
Cool
Chad: Have you found a solution to the excessive winch lead length causing plow problems?
I have an HD 6000 winch on my 2019 Ranger Crew Xp 1000. The wireless remote has a pig tail for a wired rocker switch - the instructions mention this optional kit but NOBODY in Polaris seems to know what the part number is so I can order one. The wireless remote is great but it can become "lost" or found to no longer work at a crucial moment. I want a wired solution as mentioned in the bullshit quality installation sheet. If you're an engineer then you should be able to give me a part number? Look at the installation instructions for the HD 6000 lb winch - page 4 - I have a case opened but like most contact with Polaris, I don't ever expect to hear back.
UPDATE. Well as I suspected - my so called "case number" with Polaris doesn't mean SHIT to them. It's been a month now and no return call, email, - NOTHING! 'As an engineer myself, I decided to buy a winch rocker switch and "fix" it myself. It's really simple, and I cannot believe that Polaris couldn't cobble together a 100$ solution. There are four leads in the pigtail - battery ground, winch in, winch out, and accessory power. I clipped off the mystery plug from Polaris and put on a Delph 280 plug - did some minor work with the ohm meter and wiring and it's history! Thanks Polaris! You worthless cunts! What can I expect from a machine that cost me 21k out the door!? Maybe my expectations are too high?
Did you contact your dealer? For anyone else looking, remote PN 4013466. Socket PN 4017102. It is also in the installation instructions for the wired kit:

Will the winch auto stop kit work on a 2016 RZR 900?
My 2018 rs1 winch stops way to early leaving the hook and to much rope to drag in the mud, is there ant adjustment that can be made? Or do i have to disable this auto stop function ?
I had the same problem with the over-priced POS too Ron. I took it off and replaced the fairlead with a nice billet one from Custom Splice. Check em out. The auto stop is junk IMHO.
Randy Nelson: In short "Yes" and "Yes". However, because of the splice/knot/metal loop, the puck cannot be moved close enough to the hook to really solve the problem.
: Thanks for the ideas and suggestions. When you suggest "in front of the magnetic puck", am I assuming correctly that you mean between the puck and the hook? If between the magnetic puck and the autostop fairlead, then it's doubtful that the autostop mechanism would "stop" as intended.
Dale Mullen mine didn’t stop today and now it’s stuck smh I could of swore it had auto stop to prevent this problem
@@jbarres80: Consider this possibility...Using my plow, I have the tendency to let the cable out too far (can't see it from in the seat). Add this to the fact that if you are using a plow, only the last foot or so of the cable is being used, over and over.
Not only does this wear the cable but it also tends to wind the cable tighter and tighter, all "in one place". Only trouble can follow. :-(
In my situation, the cable managed to stick in the coil and back track on itself thus reversing what should happen. I.e., when the switch was set to let cable out, it actually pulled the cable in, effectively activating your auto stop mechanism to stop winch movement. As a result, by cutting the power to the winch (as done by activating the auto stop switch), you end up not being able to pull the cable in or let it out.
My only solution was to cut the hook and magnetic stop off my cable, forcefully pull the cable out (several feet or until untangled) and then reroute the cable and replace the auto stop puck and cable hook.
Does any of this fit your situation or make any sense.
This is actually harder to describe than do.
Very very strong.
How strong is this synthetic rope
So the winch is suppose to cut off when the bump stop touches ? Like auto shut off
Because mine didn’t auto stop today and I’ve only used the winch Twice kinda pointless imo to say don’t worry it will auto stop and now I can’t release the rope
can you put it on a 2500 pound winch with cable ?
richard cowell no need synthetic
For $105 bucks... I’ll just make sure to WATCH AND AUTO stop it myself... no thanks bud.
I have this on my 2019 Polaris sportsman 570 utility ATV. My line got tangled up on the spool without my knowledge while plowing snow, and when I hit the out button it retracted the rope instead. The auto stop did not work because it read that it was going out and my rubber stop with the magnet in it got mangled in the fairlead. I had to cut the rope to get it out. To make a long story short the rubber stopper for this system cost $43 to replace. What a ripoff! Polaris parts should be made of gold.
