    Thanks for the video. I have watched it several times. I am going to be installing my winch on the same vehicle this spring. If I understand it correctly you connected the two wire adapter coming from the contactor and connected it to the 570's wiring harness 2 wire adapter, and then connected the handlebar rocker switch 3 wire adapter to the machine's wiring harness? If I understand correctly the handlebar wiring was already prewired to the ignition wiring? Thanks

    Great video, very instructive, I plan on putting a winch on my 2018 450 and it looks identical, only question I have is how and what did you use to cut out the hole in the front, I think that looks awesome like that. Thanks alot

    • @gobigparts
      @gobigparts  5 лет назад

      I believe I just kept going around it and scoring it with a retractable razor knife like you would get at a hardware store.

      Oooh ok that's sounds like it would work and be pretty simple, thanks for the fast reply!

      Not too bad because the material is already thinnner around where you make the cut just for that reason.

    Good vid, did the winch bolt right up to the frame of the quad or did you have to install a bracket for the winch. I'm planning on installing a winch for plowing snow.

    • @gobigparts
      @gobigparts  3 года назад

      Bolts right up. No additional bracket. We now sell KFI ones for Polaris that are plug and play

    Thank on the advice but just so you know you don’t haft to cut it out you can just take the body pins out on the and the grill will come off

    • @gobigparts
      @gobigparts  5 лет назад

      Correct. I stated that but I wanted a cleaner look so cute it out so I had a smaller opening around the winch.

    Great video! Thank you! What did you use to cut out the grill?

    • @gobigparts
      @gobigparts  4 года назад

      I beleive it is scored from the factory. So you just keep going around it with a razor knife until you cut through and it pops right out.

    Noticed you passed the cables close to the radiator, any issues so far? I’m just concerned with the heat on the wires. But there doesn’t seem to be another way to pass the wires... any tips?

    • @gobigparts
      @gobigparts  6 лет назад

      I looked at it last night and the wires pass around the outside of the radiator and then a ways behind it. They are not touching the rad and one of the wires are in a loom. I have had no issues. The stock voltage regulator and wires for it are closer than my winch wires. No issues.

    Will any winch fit or are bolt holes set up for a polaris one. Thanks for posting. Just bought a 2017 570. First thing i did was a battery tender now its winch time. Definately like the grill panel on. Thats what ill do.

    • @gobigparts
      @gobigparts  6 лет назад +2

      You would need to find a mount kit for what ever winch you purchase. Then do your own wireing. That is one reason I just went with the Polaris one. Plug and play.

    • @liamcalhoun2598
      @liamcalhoun2598 6 лет назад

      Doug Penner all you need is the Polaris mounting plate but any ATV/UTV winch will work. My question is if the orange wires are your ignition wires in a 2017 sportsman

    • @gobigparts
      @gobigparts  6 лет назад

      I used a multi meter on the post terminals under the cover in the storage box to see which one had power when turning the ignition on. If you follow my video I installed it on the that one.

      Hi Doug. I wanted the Polaris winch for the simplicity of wiring and mounting, as everything is already plug and play. That said, up here in Canada the dealership wants nearly $700 for a 3000 lb. winch kit. I went on Amazon.ca, purchased the mounting kit for $50, went to Canadian Tire and bought an ATV winch (4000 lb. Warn knock off made for Canadian Tire) for $150 on sale, went through Amazon to upgrade to a synthetic rope ($35) with a line stopper ($12) to make it lighter and less prone to rust. Because this was an actual atv/utv winch, it came with the mini rocker switch and everything needed to do a stealth install. It took about 45 minutes to mount and set up the winch in the bracket with the fairlead. (The Polaris bracket also comes with hardware). The only drawback is the wiring included is longer than needed, as it is designed to go to the back where most manufacturers put the battery. You can either loop it up or shorten it and install new loop connectors. Following the above video, it is a snap to install and I saved over $400 from using the Polaris set-up. The only difference is when you choose a winch, the Polaris mount is designed for the universal 4 hole mounting pattern. Make sure the winch is going to line up. Also, Polaris winches for the 570 are inverted from the factory, so conventional winches will mount upside down. No biggie, just the stickers will be upside down and you need to run the winch line completely to the end and re-set it in reverse (or just be aware that the button in/out will be backwards). Saved a ton, for a little bit of extra work, and got an extra 1000 lb. capacity (overkill).

      @@MrMjrRage I'm also in Canada (BC) and its outrageous how much polaris wants for a winch! I havent bought the machine yet, just getting ideas of add ins! The 570 premium here is $9555 plus the tax.
