Actually...we have data on this. We know the % of people with second jobs and it's just now returning to pre-covid levels. In May, it was 5.3% of the working population, which is what it was in Nov 2019, too. Look up the data at the Fed, it's publicly available data.

You're talking ~0.5% of the workforce even if it was a full 880K impact? That doesn't move the needle outside of historic norms for Americans with multiple jobs. I fully agree an 880K revision is huge and should be explored, but even with that reduction, job growth has still been healthy and faster than the previous admin...so not too much to complain about. Not to mention we have high interest rates which should intentionally slow down job growth, so it makes sense it happened.

Taxing tips never made sense in the first place. The government assumes that every customer will tip a certain percentage and that is what they base the tax on. If the customer does not give a tip the server winds up paying tax on something that was never received. Governments should learn to spend less and stop trying to squeeze more money out of the working poor.

I was a waiter and a bartender, among other tipped gigs. No employer ever tried to steal anybody's tips because you'd quit on the first day. When I was bussing tables, I got tipped out by every waitress at the end of her shift. When I was a waiter, I tipped my fellow employees properly and got excellent service as a result. My drinks were waiting for me at the bar because I was honest. My patrons were still studying the menu when their drinks were delivered. Which meant I got bigger tips.

Also, has nothing to do with people working multiple jobs which is what I commented on. You're talking ~0.5% of the workforce even if it was a full 880K impact? That doesn't move the needle outside of historic norms for Americans with multiple jobs.
I fully agree an 880K revision is huge and should be explored, but even with that reduction, job growth has still been healthy and faster than the previous admin...so not too much to complain about. Not to mention we have high interest rates which should intentionally slow down job growth, so it makes sense it happened.

Taxing tips never made sense in the first place. The government assumes that every customer will tip a certain percentage and that is what they base the tax on. If the customer does not give a tip the server winds up paying tax on something that was never received. Governments should learn to spend less and stop trying to squeeze more money out of the working poor.

I'm retired. With Trump I was ok and I still have a small mortgage. On Bidenomics, it's cost me at least 5 hundred if not more for the same stuff. When you are on a budget the items in the basket don't change a whole lot. I'm makeing it work because I know nutriction and I'm on no medications. I'm pretty healthy.
