- Oasis - Some Might Say (Live Jools Holland)
Some might say that sunshine follows thunder
Go and tell it to the man who cannot shine
Some might say that we should never ponder
On our thoughts today cos they will sway over time
Some might say we will find a brighter day
Some might say we will find a brighter day
Cos I've been standing at the station
In need of education in the rain
You made no preparation for my reputation once again
The sink is full of fishes
She's got dirty dishes on the brain
It was overflowing gently but it's all elementary my friend
Some might say they don't believe in heaven
Go and tell it to the man who lives in hell
Some might say you get what you've been given
If you don't get yours I won't get mine as well
Some might say we will find a brighter day
Some might say we will find a brighter day
Cos I've been standing at the station
In need of education in the rain
You made no preparation for my reputation once again
The sink is full of fishes
Cos she's got dirty dishes on the brain
And my dog's been itchin'
Itchin' in the kitchen once again

some might say oasis are the best fucking band of all time
one of the greatest rock n roll tunes ever wrote - full stop!
it's not how we say it in Manchester mate : ) Ok ...written. We are taking Rock N Roll though.
*talking
Jeepers! ...another English lesson?
Agreed. And tell that English teacher to fuck off
KentuckyBourbon Fade quite right!
The improvisation on the last chorus is unreal
We need them back
What do you mean
one of the most uplifting songs ever :)
makes ya feel on top of the world
That’s the power of Noel Gallagher!
The power of oasis
I love the music and the sound - but tell me what that chorus *means*. I say it's gibberish. Still, it's a glorious bit of rock'n'roll.
liam's voice in 2000 was the best in my opinion , just listen to carnation , the jam song with liam singing it , just the best voice you can imagine !!!
They covered carnation in 99
I agree
Noels lead in this when i hear it inspires me to become a better guitarist. Ive learned how to play it and its good to actually see how its done and i appreciate how good it is. Not a bad thing to look upto and be inspired by
in 2000 was still a great voice
Na, Wembley was ruined in 2000. Liam was awful that night.
@@carljose3728 no he wasn’t, you’re tripping
@@carljose3728 2nd night he was, 1st night sounds amazing even if there’s pitch correction on it
We was just talking about being biased a moment ago. He was absolutely Scheisse mein Freund! X
What a tune!!! What a performance!!!
Agreed
John Lennon performing Some Might Say - Oasis :o
Voice is perfect in Jools Holland 2000 - sounds like an electric hum, raspy but clean, perfect for rock
Noel's outro is fucking awesome
You Know What Some Might Say! Yehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa you know what some might say ,might say might say
The way he sings second chorus is so cool
Damian Derewońko Very clever on his part. Struggled to reach note at start of the first chorus ‘I’ve been standing at the station’ so just avoided it entirely during the second chorus and made it work.
@Phil Arnold's CHANNEL LINEAGE I think this may have been one of the first live performances of this era. He went for the notes in the first chorus, realised it was a struggle, so changed it next time round. Those are high notes, and he recognised he wouldn't be able to pull it off so stuck within his range and altered the second chorus. Personally, I think it sounds way better.
David Graham honestly though I agree with you the second way kinda fits his style of singing better and his phrasing.
@@badgasaurus4211 i dont blame him , it aint an easy note
hes done something similar in Den Bosch 1997, sounds nice and doesnt stretch his throat
They never played this enough with gem and Andy
Gem and Andy.... Credit where it's due..... Are outstanding musicians
They couldn’t play this cause of Liam’s voice. Even if they played it down a key, jt would have been dogshit I think🤷♂️ Liam’s voice Simply couldn’t do it anymore
Rainy and it sounds shit
2000 was Liam best year in a way i like pre 2000 more but right here it is just a perfect mix of coarse and soft!
He totally manages to save it . And be looks very cool doing it ! Respect to the one and only.
Liam always rocks he is the bomb omg
Love when it came to the final solo, Noel switches to the wah pedal sound for an added rock n roll vibe. 🤞😎
This was the first look at the new oasis line up. That's why this voice is good, first time he sang since 1998 tour.
They played shows in North America with the new line-up in December 1999
This is the best concert in terms of Liam's voice and in terms of music. Noisy and heavy
Love the guitar sound!
Liam has probably had one of the most likeable strongest voices ever. Even when be here now came out I think it was even then too raspy to be at the very fore front of songs and still be in the pop realm.
liam has been smart in the last chorus...
This is a song that directly beams me back to a certain time and feeling. Great song!
Up in the sky they will live forever, this! will never slide away
i love this. everything about oasis is absolutely perfect.
They were magnificent... truly...raw talent
his voice was still awesome up until around 02-04
what a voice.
Liam's best vocal gig ever this show. Pure class.
he literally voice cracked in the first chorus
This is an amazing song l love it Liam' sounds awesome and noel is just great a true oasis classic wow thanks for the video
Some might say this is the best rock n roll song ever
@paramishermanos Supersonic was their first single...this was their first no1 in the charts...
his voice is fuckin epic here. and i was on a beady eye gig 2011, his voice is STILL epic!
This era was Liam's peak voice
OASIS best band ever
All the mugs on here saying his voice had gone , he's still filling stadiums in 22 and he sounds better than ever . This gig was spot on .
He doesn't sound better than ever, though. He sounds better than he did back in 2005-2011. But he's not even close to his 90's vocals. Because of course he isn't. He's never taken care of his voice.
@@youhavemysympathy.4237 You are missing the point , Liam has never had a fantastic singing voice , but his style of voice suited every track live I've been lucky enough to see Oasis and Liam solo on three occasions each and he sounds just as good , none of the lead vocalists of any great band sound the same as they did in their early 20s , their voices change regardless . Anyone that has watched him perform Cast no Shadow and Slide Away from the accoustic sets in the past couple of years will agree .
25-30 years will do that. Stevie Nicks had been running away from the high notes in Rhiannon since 1978.
now they are part of my life
to me, it's the best oasis song.
-- LEGEND!
Next level
The sound is *huge* here.
grazie mille per la spiegazione! :D
Oasis were one of the greatest singles bands ever-up there with Slade in their heyday
Oasis had better b sides
I was thinking exactly the same. well said mate
This is my favourite live version of that song, the other is the version from the MTV Unplugged with Noel on vocals.
gmex maine road?
+Miles Prower I watchted the performance but this is still my favourite.
Earl’s Court is my favourite i think
Cliff’s Pavillion is the best hands down
love the outro
If these two got back together and reformed the band, they would rule the world. Shame that they can't forgive and forget, and get back to do what they do best. Come on boys, the world needs an OASIS in these trying times.
Pop is just a collective term of popular bands.
In that sense, Elvis, Iggy and the Who were pop at one time.
This is Rock N Roll just like the the rest.
yes but back in the time none could sing as well as liam, really
@heftosprod great riposte, worthy of the intellect of an Oasis fan
omg...Liam looks soooooo amazingly hot...wowsa!...and he rocks those round lenses like no one else can!
Go tell it to the man who can not sheeeeeiiiine!
this was their first no.1
Liam is so fookin cool mate..
How can you say Liams voice died in 1999 when these songs performed on Jools Holland live were sung in 2000. I think his voice was at its peak here. Listen to Who Feels Love performed on the same night, it's insanely good.
1:24 when Liam's voice died. Never again sang so high
asior34 Watch 2018, so cool voice.
that didn't age well
For What It’s Worth has the same note in the chorus
He can still hit high notes easily in studio but not live anymore really
I concur.
@ bradhatesmanu - So true what you said about thinking you were listening to a studio version/recording of this at one point here. The performance is that good!
Flipping heck. Imagine oasis got back together..
great song... I didnt like em much when this came out... now i know.
2000-2001 was the "silver age" for Liam's voice
Voicecrack at 1:26
He gets kinda pissed off abou it xD
@125possom 96 he was great just look at main road , but yeh i probs agree around this year he sounds raw its class
Amazing vocals..... It was all downhill live around this era unfortunately 😈😈
Tell me about it
The way ppl discuss LG's voice you would think these cretins were listening to Pavarotti.Oh he was flat there, he wasn't as good as X, Y and fucking Z.So what, he's having it.Hes the ultimate lad and he's banging it out like a good'en
@theblueflashinglight there we go!
If there was anyone in that crowd who wasn't an oasis fan or ever really listened to them, i sure bet they were converted after that performance
How many times must it be said? Noel is God! Great vocals by Liam as well.
è bomba 1 monte sta canzone diahane
you know what some might say
Do want him to have a voice like James Blunt? Still sounds class, the sound of Oasis!
AHHHhhh and this is from 2000 ;)
Fucking great (and simple) guitar intro!
His voice was amazing in 2000 too..2002-2005 was good
It was 2008 onwards when he started going downhill imo
I’d say the decline started in 2000, wasn’t great in 02 then was terrible by 04, sounded like Kermit the frog in 08 and then there’s a glimmer a class in 09 for one gig think it was the standing on the edge of noise tour. He’s bit better now but not the quality he was before 2000
3 words,, Cool As f**k !!!
Who don't like this song ? he is crazy
Dude, you try touring the world, singing every other night, and sometimes 2 nights in a row, then lets see how you sound. You won't even be able 2 sing Mary Had AQ Little Lamb.
Brb
song just as good or even better that the studio recorded
Yes?
1994 til infinite! :)
much more oasis lol !
fucking awesome version of some might say
class let the crowd stand there lik e bunch of belllllllllllllends and still av it...
@zinazubird Some might say it's life was ended in 2002 and certainly not in 1999. And they are right cause they watched this video.
cuanta razon... (?
@zinazubird 2000 was good ;) (familiar to millions)
Kidda sad to see Liam couldn't reach some note correctly considering he was only 28 years old. But was a good performance
He really did destroy his voice at such a young age from then on.
I agree. But he's got it back. He's voice nowadays is better than the whole 2000s era.
He had ups and downs, he never learned singing, this is destroyed his voice and the biggest problem is his tyroid disease, hashimoto's disease. I read in an article 2 years ago not too much after he came back, that he has this disease, which can make his voice really hoarse and he drinks something magic vinegar to keep his voice clean. It could be very bad if you have a disease and people blame you, that you destroyed your own voice... partially it's true ofcourse....
@Im wearing tights that I borrowed from your mum.
There are singers and... There is Liam Galagher 👍
Diego Miozzo No. better than 2002 and onwards yes. If you want proof listen to yokohoma 2000
Not to be that arsehole but is he not 27 here
It's a difficult song to sing, coz It's so high. Sounds better if u tune your guitar a whole step down
What sunglasses is Liam wearing. I want a pair.
is it just me or does liam's voice sound like 1996 in this? its amazing
Fog812 8 it's just you
I agree fog, its less nasal and more clear like in the 90's
No you can hear he's straining he especially loses it from "in need of education in the rain" both times whereas he'd have sailed through it between 95-98!
That was the point IMO, when he would have to start to go to a singing teacher. Today, he is very good, I mean much better, that 2006-9 , because I think he resting his voice more often and he learned some technique. Noel said in the supersonic documentary, Liam was the best singer in the 90's and he just f'd up.
Sadly this was the last time he sang this song as the pre 2000 Liam
The best neo Johnny Thunders & the best pseudo Johnny Lydon. How could ya go wrong with that lot?
Don't forget John Lennon - he nicked the glasses too!
and Liam is the spitting image of John Lennon
a lack of character and self believe..
Stuart Mccrimmon you are right man¡¡
can you explain :) does liam sing in a lower octave and noel does the high bits do you mean?
Its very good song, but the best is Wonderwall :D!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙀❤️👍🏻😸
A voz já estava começando a deixar o Liam na mão
@ryko26 are you on the wrong page?i think you meant that comment for jonas brothers or something.or justin bieber.
haha, that makes sense
