I wish I found your channel years ago! I’m in my final couple of months and really understand what you’re talking about when you discuss tired students! Thank you so much for the vlogs I’ve found so many of them useful.
I see that this video has been viewed at least 16,725 times, and I am quite sure that I am responsible for viewing this video at least 50 times! This is one of my favorite and most encouraging videos by Dr. Brabazon.💚🧡💙💜🤎💗
Ha, cried when she said ‘you can do this’... I am very aware of this fact now, a few years after dropping out of my first attempt. Ready to aim smarter this time 👌🏻 thank you, brilliant lady
I can really see your passion about teaching. You are exceptional in what you do. I am not a PhD student, but it's amazing what I'm able to learn with your channel. I'm a coach, and everything you teach can be apply to my field. Please excuse my English, I'm Portuguese. Congratulations and thanks for your clear and very helpful information.
I am so grateful for finding your channel, however shame I haven' found it sooner, since I am defending in less than a month. Still I would like to thank you for addressing so many different topics in such an inspiring way! Greetings from Switzerland!
I'm only a master's student but all of this is thoroughly helpful, thank you so much . I hope I have the opportunity to do a PhD once my master's degree is over.
Ma'am I'd like to say that your flow while speaking is commendable. I want to learn such flow in order to become a successful orator. Currently, about to start my PhD in management at the University of Queensland , Australia.
Mam, because of not getting a good supervisor, I am still stuck in 5th year without having a questionnaire in my hand. I took extension but my supervisor has no time to check my questionnaire and self written one chapter till now.. So, still not loose my confidence and trying to move forward without supervisor.
1- Is it possible to be a part-time PhD student and a full-time instructor , or is it hell that is unbearable. 2- Is it wise to reveal your topic during the PhD interview and ask for a supervisor or it is be to finish the courses first then reveal it. Thank you very much Tara
Hi Theblue Sword - you are a star. Great questions. Firstly - the part time PhD is the subject of Vlog 54 - the one after next. I've wanted to do a session on this key area for a while - so in 10 days - that vlog is available for you. I'll try to do another one about the part time PhD and full time instructor. I touch on that topic in the vlog - but I may go back there again. And I do think it is important to reveal the topic of thesis. You are based in North America I am assuming - because of the coursework component. But if you do know the area of interest - talk about that and then the supervisor can be involved throughout the process. And the coursework can be more meaningful. We need to focus on a student-centred approach to doctoral education. The student is at the centre and is our focus. We then create a programme that engages with their needs, interests and goals. Keep in touch - you ask amazing questions! Txxx
I've seen plenty of your vids and you always mention that a PhD lasts 3 years. Isn't it a lot more? I mean I've read that in the US its 4-6 years or more. Am I missing something?
