      Great idea, only instead of using one long piece, I use a few overlapping so that it is easier to remove the section(s) that are dirtiest, without wasting a whole sheet.

    Foil on the rack doesn’t allow proper air circulation, as the heat rises from the oven floor. Baked goods are delicate, mats off-gas. The best way is to promptly wipe up spills about 15 minutes after items removed from oven. A squirt of vinegar and/or baking soda on the stain will release easily due to oven warmth. Be mindful of bakeware size to possibly catch splatters with deep sides, watch overfilling,…

      I thought the same, but it must work if she has been using this method. I imagine she does a lot of baking and roasting.

      This is the problem I ran into also. However, the ends weren't left open, maybe thats what made the difference in the temperature not circulating properly. So I ended up removing the foil altogether. Walmart sells oven shields to catch spills also. I put the foil underneath the heating element nd that seems to work as well.😊

      Thank you for saying this because this is exactly what my oven repair man told me….”do not use foil, it blocks the circulation and will lessen the life span of your oven. ❤❤

      You have to take the oven door apart to clean in between the glass. There are videos on RUclips that you can watch. Doesn't look too complicated

    My oven is always clean. I use it to store my extra pots and pans. I bake in my countertop convection oven.

    I just put a bigger aluminum disposable pan under the one I am using to bake in just in case of leaks.

    That would change the airflow in the oven, not as good flow.

      It’s horrible to do and will cause not only baking unevenly but will void your stove warranty

      @@swansuz Thank you. There is no such warning in my electric oven, I checked, however I appreciate your response. The foil is not tightly wrapped to the bottom, just loosely on top. Thanks, again, much appreciated.

    i just leave foil at the bottom bit in the wrack. It works well 😂

    I do something similar . I use an oven mat made of Teflon . Just put it on the rack and spills wipe off easily. It seems to work well for me .

      Maybe never use Temps above 350 (or us it 375?)..
      Teflon and high heat = not good.

    Blue oven🧐must be a Kitchen Aid. I have a new GE CONVECTION I’ll have to check my manufactures instructions, because some of the new ovens say you can’t do that it affects the way the oven works. But a good idea otherwise😊

    I create a sheet of foil large enough to cover the bottom of my oven. so easy to clean up. I have electric , not sure if that works in a gas oven.

    Specifically says, don't cover bottom or grills in foil on newer stoves from LG. Found out it inhibits the flow of heat and doesn't cook as well. Sorry. Stuck cleaning forever. Oh, and no silicone mats either.

    Got a new oven and the installation guy warned me not to put foil directly on the BOTTOM of the oven. He said the heat can actually fuse the foil to the oven floor and ruin the whole oven. 🫣
    THIS would be a SAFE way to catch spills. Good advice, as usual! 😇

    Oils soak right through foil. Try it. Put foil over the top of a glass and put a bit of vegetable oil in there. In no time it will drip right through the foil

    Been doing that for years . My precious Mommy did that in the 80’s . Awesome idea !!!!
    I just lay foil on the bottom of the oven so something does spell or boil over. I just slide it out ball it up and threw it away easy Peezy and that’s what I need easy Peezy however, I use my emerald Lagasse cooking oven for the most part I live alone, so no need to even use the oven anymore.

    Peace- That reminds me of when I was growing up that is what we did and we also put foil on the burners and cut out the hole for the flame. Until they sold the ready made ones years later. These new age fancy oven don't have that I guess it doesn't look fancy. But you can do it at times - Now I use thin aluminum pans in the oven as a base. But every few month's you will still have to freshen and clean the oven. Blessings!

    Aluminum can leach into food when heated. We avoid it completely, including aluminum cans
