This and Dynamite Headdy have always been my favorite Genesis games since I played them when they first came out. I even have the Japanese Mega Drive version of this! Thank you Easy Allies for giving me this nostalgia filled trip to the past.
This is one of the greatest most overlooked games from the Genesis/Snes era and still holds up today. Definitely don’t skip. Also thanks for finally doing the don’t skip that was teased when the show was announced!
Glad to see another Don't Skip! This is a great series for games that deserve attention but aren't big enough to justify a whole review or podcast segment for.
Don't Skip - Rocket: Robot on Wheels. Not many people seem to know it exists, and it hasn't been re-released digitally, remade, ported, or anything of the sort.
This is a brilliant idea for DontSkip!!! I always wondered when and where would be best to use this show's format, but it works perfectly for retro games. Also, can't help it that Rocket Knight is easily one of my favorite games of all time! Love that game.
I express gratitude for creating a video on this entertaining game, I feel Rocket Knight is unappreciated like Alien Soldier, Gunstar Heroes, Dashin Desperadoes and Golden Axe.
LOVED this game as a kid one of the first video games I ever owned. Actually had it til a couple years back and had to sell it due to being hard for cash. I'll never forget it though. Hopefully sega eventually comes out with even a virtual console version of this, but can you imagine if they made another or remade this one.
I'd love if more retro games got the Don't Skip treatment in the future. Seems like a great way to spread the word on more obscure games, or games that don't have the love they deserve.
I remember playing this when i was like 4 or 5. I loved this game so much that a few years ago when I got into retro gaming I went to my local mom and pop video game store and got this game near mint. The box had a konani questionnaire and a poster that had TMNT with other characters from gaming on it . it was only 25 bucks... Weirdly the game seemed harder then when I was a little kid .
I really cut my teeth on this game. I got it at a Costco type store because I was young and liked the opossum on the front. Lots of late night sleepover memories trying to get to the end and making bad fan art. Thanks for bringing me back, Ben!
Heck yeah Rocket Knight Adventures is a definite "Don't Skip". A must have for any Genesis collection, and glad I have a copy though loose. I just played through it again last year!
A really good game. I go back to it from time to time. That sprite work is amazing considering the time. It's and by Konami and we know what they do.... nothing. Because if they did we would have another game.
The US boxart got that angry face again, Europe and Japan at least got the jolly looking Sparkster. Great game, one of my favorite Megadrive titles and worth its current price.
The sequels were all pretty solid too, even the 360/PS3 one (though not amazing or anything). I don't know why they didn't just focus on doing a hand drawn HD remake instead, but at least we got a little more lore.
Was it forgotten though? It was a popular game when it was first released, got rave reviews in magazines and even got a sequel and later a remake for the Xbox360.
Easily one of the best games of the 16bit era and Rocket Knight Adventures would be my personal first choice if there was a Hall that I could put Great games into.
now that you can´t buy anything anymore in the wiiware shop it would be great to see something from it in this seccion, to be more specific i was thinking in lit (here´s to hoping you read this :P )
Rocket Knight Adventures? Only a bunch of sexy motherfuckers could have perceived its greatness in 2018. Congratulations. Now let's all move on to Contra: Hard Corps. I'm ready.
My favourit platformer on the Genesis, yes, I consider it better than Sonic too. The soundtrack is also my favourit of the whole roster of games that the genesis has to offer.
one of my favorite games from the 16 bit era, the sequel (not the painfully mediocre 2010 one, the one still for Genesis/SNES) was nowhere near as good though, I would love to read a post mortem on why it failed, it was probably handled by a completely different team
So I only played the SNES version of this game which seems to have completely different levels but same gameplay. Any thoughts, from someone who's played both, which of them are better?
It never felt like a Konami game, rathermore like a Treasure game. There has to be a reason for this. Could it be that this game was started by key Treasure people before they formed their own company?
Kinda feels like this video is 25 years too late. I already skipped it. ^^ But to be honest, I was a Nintendo kid, so I never even knew this existed. Looks pretty good though.
Just purchased a cart off eBay today! Still play my original genesis, first system I ever owned. ❤
And one of the BEST 16 Bit soundtracks in history!
Great game
my man!
my first game ever! exciting music,1up`s and killing pigs.what else does a gamer need?
I'll never forget playing this gem at my cousin's house oh so many years ago. I remember being blown away by it
This and Dynamite Headdy have always been my favorite Genesis games since I played them when they first came out. I even have the Japanese Mega Drive version of this! Thank you Easy Allies for giving me this nostalgia filled trip to the past.
I never forgot it, it's my favorite Genesis game of all time! Over the course of my life, I must've beaten this game like 100+ times.
This is one of the greatest most overlooked games from the Genesis/Snes era and still holds up today. Definitely don’t skip. Also thanks for finally doing the don’t skip that was teased when the show was announced!
TheDarkKnight There were already ones on Hollow Knight and some others too. Go check them out
This game is a bonafide masterpiece in my book
Glad to see another Don't Skip! This is a great series for games that deserve attention but aren't big enough to justify a whole review or podcast segment for.
Girthquake when was another? First I've seen and love the idea
DIsabledgamer jh hollow knight
One of the greatest games of all time.
Loved this game. Still have my Sega cartridge!
I owned the SNES edition of Rocket Knight. It was REALLY fun and challenging
Don't Skip - Rocket: Robot on Wheels. Not many people seem to know it exists, and it hasn't been re-released digitally, remade, ported, or anything of the sort.
Don't Skip - Ristar
Another Genesis gem!
YES.
And that intro is great
One of my favorite games ever. The boss music is insanely good!
Please do more Don't Skip videos. Love the format.
The most underrated Genesis game of all time IMO. It is high on my all time list.
The sequel is great too!
There's much sadder examples of underrated Genesis games though. Rocket Knight Adventures got great reviews and sold decently.
I still feel that quality pixel art just does not age, early 3d games however.......
Early pixel art games look just as ugly now as early 3d games, so I don't think this is a fair comparison (I'm talking like Atari 2600).
Couldn't agree more, some ps1 games look pretty bad. Sprites will always rule!
This is a brilliant idea for DontSkip!!! I always wondered when and where would be best to use this show's format, but it works perfectly for retro games. Also, can't help it that Rocket Knight is easily one of my favorite games of all time! Love that game.
One of the most favourite games of my childhood. Rocket Knight Adventures 2 on Genesis was at the same level of quality.
Thank you so SO much for featuring a classic game without needing the excuse of a re-release!! Top stuff.
I express gratitude for creating a video on this entertaining game, I feel Rocket Knight is unappreciated like Alien Soldier, Gunstar Heroes, Dashin Desperadoes and Golden Axe.
I loved this game as a kid!! Those mech vs mech boss battles were sooo goooood
LOVED this game as a kid one of the first video games I ever owned. Actually had it til a couple years back and had to sell it due to being hard for cash. I'll never forget it though. Hopefully sega eventually comes out with even a virtual console version of this, but can you imagine if they made another or remade this one.
First Genesis game I bought with my own money as a kid. Still have it almost 30 years later.
Some of the best graphics, music and gameplay on the Genesis. Worth playing even today.
This and the genesis sequel Sparkster (Rocket Knight Adventures 2) are absolutely fantastic games.
WoW! Thanks for the retrospective!! I love these!!!
I'd love if more retro games got the Don't Skip treatment in the future. Seems like a great way to spread the word on more obscure games, or games that don't have the love they deserve.

Glad to see this game getting some love
And I thought the Kirby review was late....I kid I kid. Love this. Great work guys
This is the game that made me buy a Genesis and I never regretted it.
This game is just awesome! The music is so damn good!!!
Damn! I want to play this game now XD
literalliy my favourite mega drive game when i was a kid, also the sequel sparkster is SICK with MASSIVE MECH FIGHTS, thanks ben
I remember playing this via Blockbuster rentals. Dayum I gotta play this again one day.
Rocket Knight Adventures is one of the greats. Someone from EZA should rep for it in the next Hall of Greats!
As PaRappa the Rapper once said, you gotta believe~!
Not to mention the OST is FIRE
I really cut my teeth on this game. I got it at a Costco type store because I was young and liked the opossum on the front. Lots of late night sleepover memories trying to get to the end and making bad fan art. Thanks for bringing me back, Ben!
This vid alone proves that EZA is the best in the biz. #Realest
Vids like these make me wonder how IGN is still in business, when EZA is still on Patreon.
Heck yeah Rocket Knight Adventures is a definite "Don't Skip". A must have for any Genesis collection, and glad I have a copy though loose. I just played through it again last year!
I remember when Electronic Gaming Monthly rated this an 8 in their magazine for the Sega Genesis back in the 90's. This game rocked!
Bucky O'Hare is another underrated Konami classic
Loved this game. I remember it took my try after try to get to get to the tech suit for that one on one duel. Now that was a challenge.
oh man i loved this game, took awhile to beat it back when i was a kid :)
This reminds me how much better the SNES version is. Looks, music and the explosions. Ow man the explosions
This is Sega Genesis? The animations are fantastic! The crispness also makes it look like it came out this year
YES. Nobody talks about rocket Knight!
A review of a saga genesis classic - Ben Moore - Easy Allies you are the absolute fucking best in the business x
Please start doing more retro reviews. That was excellent.
Awesome, please continue
One of the greatest. I remember playing this when I was 8yo xD
A really good game. I go back to it from time to time. That sprite work is amazing considering the time. It's and by Konami and we know what they do.... nothing. Because if they did we would have another game.

Great game, one of my favorite Megadrive titles and worth its current price.
good writing and editing
Such a great game!!! Nice pull Ben.
One of my favourites 😍
We need a don't skip on Gorogoa. Bloodworth can testify!
I remember being an 8 year old boy sat cross legged on the floor playing this non stop. Such a great game. Sequel was crap though.
The sequels were all pretty solid too, even the 360/PS3 one (though not amazing or anything). I don't know why they didn't just focus on doing a hand drawn HD remake instead, but at least we got a little more lore.
Thanks Ben
Great game, one of my absolute favourites on the mega drive.
Really wish Konami would get their heads out of their asses and make another one ~
Excellent game. I always felt it should of been make into a cartoon series.
Wonderful video.
That rocket knight lore.
Yes Ben, YES!
Great game and hope don't skip becomes a serise
DIsabledgamer jh theyve already dont a good number of them so it pretty much a series.
Shame this isn't in the Genesis Collection being released in May, looks really good.
They say this is overlooked but I hear much more about this then the much better snes version.
Do people even know there was a snes version?
Worth mentioning that odd looking remake that came out on the PS3 too. Such a shame this series ended so abruptly.
if Konami were to remake this or make another game in the series without messing it up...instantly forgiven
Must Skip - Rocket Knight 2010
If only Konami wasn't as terrible as they are now, we could have had a Sonic Mania-type revival of this game.
This game... this game seems fucking fantastic!
Greatness
Wait a minute, he's a possum? This whole time I thought he was a mouse. Learn something new everyday lol.
Rocket Knight for Smash 😁🙏
Nice pick!
It's a fantastic game :)
now that you can´t buy anything anymore in the wiiware shop it would be great to see something from it in this seccion, to be more specific i was thinking in lit (here´s to hoping you read this :P )
Rocket Knight Adventures?

Wow that games looks baller!
So I only played the SNES version of this game which seems to have completely different levels but same gameplay. Any thoughts, from someone who's played both, which of them are better?
They did come out with a 'sequel/reboot' though... for PC?! Was it for Console too?
remember the boss music was lit
My love🙌
But how do I play it today?
I missed don't skip!
This looks tremendous and I’ve never played it.
I tried the demo for a 3d remake of Rocket Knight and didn't like it too much. Gotta have that 90's difficulty to make it exciting i guess.
Fucking loved this game!
I have never played this game but I did play its sequel.. the sequel was nothing short of epic.. Do a don't skip on its Sequel.
I was not a huge fan of the steam version, but the original Sega version is a classic.
Is Sparkster for the SNES just as good?
Most people think it's by far the weaker game.
Yep the game is a classic, is there a way for me to get this on modern consoles?
Oh I guess not :(
It never felt like a Konami game, rathermore like a Treasure game. There has to be a reason for this. Could it be that this game was started by key Treasure people before they formed their own company?
