I close my eyes..Summer 1999 in Berlin. The original Tresor Club. Jeff Mills is dropping this track, it goes on and on for ages, I'm loosing myself in the music..perhaps it's still happening in some of kind of parallel universe, and I have not stopped screaming with the crowd ever since.
What yooou'll find is whenever you hear this, or any of the seeds they plant, your mind starts to stretch like a thin latex sheet and reaches out to enclose those repetitious moments (which self perpetuate each time). Saw Steve and Miquette live in king tuts Glasgow a few years back . A venue that holds 300 max with less than 100 people that night - they played this live full track full volume holy shit I couldn’t believe my ears. So lucky to witness this - What a time to be alive!Living legends (&richie of course!!) got 2 different copies on vinyl - absolute weapon
My First time at Orbit in Morley (Leeds) in 1995, Marco Zafarrano played this for the last record . I had been in chilliut room all night enjoying my first E , didn't dare move as it was rammed. Finally walked up the stairs onto the dance floor into a see of people hanging from the rafters coming out the fucking Wall GOING OFF. Can remember shutting my eyes thinking I can't believe this is going on I'm having the greatest night of my life. That was it for the next 2yrs every wknd (just about) . Cueing round the block up the hill . Best nights anyone could have . Phew 😈😈😈😈😈69👊🏻

Haven't heard this in a looooong time, so glad I randomly thought of it out the blue. Funny how the brain stores things for over a decade. The time must have been right :)
do you know what that was? i found a cassette tape with that1 (about 25 years old)... just before this1 was a crazy "I feel love" from Donna Summer, right after that delirious guitar riff (Jimy??) leading into Alpha Wave.... i digitalized that tape, but the quality suxx! Tune! I remember how this track was rocking every abandoned Los Angeles warehouse on a Saturday night back then. If I could take a trip into outer space, this is what I imagine it would sound like.
@@speakertreatz Access is a great track. Both kicks have reverb but the reverb works well on Access. I would get rid of the reverb on Alpha Wave and just add a bit more bottom end and/or very slight distortion. A nice dry thump rather than stompy.
totally agree. it would cut through the mix better. Now you mention it I remember any time I tried a long transition mix with this track - which structurally it's perfect for - there was always a feeling of anticlimax when it was finally left in on its own, the kick was just too soft.
this reminds me of bush doofs in aus where before sunrise and the hardcorers were only dancing that a track like this would come on and you'd hear primal shouts of appreciation as ppl got a second wind and just had to dance with a big fucking grin plastered on their face.
