Brad is one of a select few who are so entertaining that they can distract me from the train wreck that is my life.
I’d recommend Tim Dillon for that as well. He got me through 2020
Perfectly put
At least he didn't film a dead body....
@@Georg3e wuss
Agreed. I don’t watch sports or Oscar worthy movies anymore. I watch people review bad horror movies. It’s what I do now to escape.
I love how Pinhead is basically just like "Yeah Idk why I'm here either I'm just as confused as you"
Let's admit it, these Hellraiser reviews get better with each new installment.
It's an inversely proportional relationship to the quality of the movies.
I think is because Brad had more and more material to joke about
These movies are all just dreams and hallucinations, which can be very good elements in film but in Hellraiser it's always a cheap and easy tacked-on excuse for gore or jump scares.
This franchise had enormous potential for expanding in the sequels. That potential was entirely squandered.
However, I'm not much of a horror fan so it works out perfectly; more fodder for the Snob to entertain me with.
Keep the Hellraiser coming, my dude
They were really going all-out with that subtitle, weren't they?
It's a shame we never got to see *_Hellraiser: Deadest_* and *_Hellraiser: Deadenestern'st._*
Maybe one day we'll get the direct sequel starring Jim Carrey as Pinhead
Hellraiser: Dead And Deader?
@@MandleRoss I’ve been saying for years they should make a crossover between Hellraiser & Dumb and Dumber
@@CountessChuchoteur So, Lloyd gets his tongue stuck on the rotating Hellraiser pillar but the pillar just rips it out of his head?
Brilliant!!!
Hellraiser: Dead and Loving It
Haha that first Pinhead appearance is like if they told Bradley you dont have to leave your home just dress up in the costume go down into the basement of you house and say your lines into this camera we sent you through FedEx. Also its fun how they are adamant to hammer home that the feature starts in London. It says London on posters and doors like 8 times. Atleast they didnt go for stock footage i can give them that.
3:02 The boss talks, like they wanted John Malkovich for the role, but then remembered, they can’t afford him.
At least in the next movie we got Superman and Cyborg from the Teen Titans teaming up to fight Bishop from Aliens
My god is like the Land Before time of horror movies?!?! I tip my invisible hat to you Snob.
I think that Witchcraft.
Both began in 1988
Both have sequels in the teens (13 LBT, 15 Witchcraft)
Both had last sequel in 2016 after a hiatus of nearly 10 years.
@@murrfeeling Sounds like more than mere coincidence 🤔
"um, just accept it I guess". I think most horror movie sequels use this motto
Ugh, Hellworld.. A movie that even Lance Henriksen couldn't save.
I like Lance Henriksen, but lets not pretend that he has a quality list of credits....The guy will obviously do just about anything and doesn't really concern himself with the quality of it.
@@lutherheggs451 Yes, Lance is cool, but the number of movies that Lance Henriksen couldn't save is in the mid 30's by now.
Do you really bring Henriksen to "save" movies?
Not even Henry Cavill Superman himself
June is "Adopt a Cat Month".
(Lloyd approves of this message.)
“We lost the sacred knife, so…here’s a gun.”
Really, what a lousy cult.
whoever lost that knife was definitely the next sacrifice
2 Snobs in one week!?! Awwwwww yeah!
I really enjoy the "Hellraiser" reviews. Can't wait for "Hellworld". It's the one I was waiting to see the review of since you started doing these movies. Keep it up. 👍.
Oh goodie, more Hellraiser.....Lloyd needs to make the Lament Configuration explode.....
Thinner treated Kari Wuhrer with more respect.
This is where the movie's got bad, don't worry not as bad as the next 3 but it's the bridge between the good and bad movies. Great review Brad of course.
My God, I keep forgetting there are even more after this!
THIS is where they got bad?
@@spiderjerusalem100 No, they got bad after 2. But 3 was still entertaining and had some high points such as certain visuals, dialouges and ideas. First two were proper movies though, w structure.
@@Mintylight Bloodline had decent dialogue if you only count Pinhead. Decent ideas too. I like Brad's take that you can tell its a movie the studio butchered because it did have potential.
this is fine movie if you think kari wuhrer is super cute
Saw Deader and Hellworld in 2007 when Showtime had a Hellraiser marathon. All I remembered from this, besides Pinhead feeling out of place, was the "tight corridor with bugs on the wall" -scene and that it was shot in Romania.
And we still have yet to see Pinhead fight Freddy Kruger after going into space. But in Hellraiser Hellworld, he does kill Bishop Weyland but not Superman.
I wonder if they will ever make that Hellraiser/Cloverfield cross-over. All they need is a sci-fi horror script that has nothing to do with either franchise and a crowbar.
And drugs, I'm thinking acid or LSD.
Suddenly the Cloverfield monster was a cenobite with a giant fetish
That would be a great last hurrah for Doug Bradley as Pinhead, if he wants to be shown riding a giant lizard(?) monster.
I enjoyed Hellworld. It's got a basic plot that's easy to follow and a couple ok little twist at the end. Honestly, it would probably be the same quality without the Hellraiser add-ons.
I would have liked to see this without the hellraiser connections
Yeah its actually interesting
You know you’ve seen a lot of these videos when you get the sense that the guy playing the editor just plain doesn’t give a fuck and is rolling with it.
God Hellraiser was the Cloverfield verse before Cloverfield even came out.
Wait till the next Cloverfield movie. You'll find out that The two are set in the same universe
@@BiggestDoucheEver Don't tempt them, they will do it
The question is are you going to do the Prophecy movie made by the same production company with the same cast, location, special effects, location, crew and even the same shot of a dead woman?
I was positive I was the only person on earth who remembered those movies
@@stefanfilipovits21 Hey, I know of at least 1 other fan of the Prophecy movies; the producers of the TV series Supernatural. Sure Castiel is based on John Constantine but the rules and portrayals for the angels came strait from The Prophecy.
It's funny that you forgot, or maybe you didn't notice, but after Amy took the Lament box, and left the bathroom, when the camera pans back to Marla, SHE'S STILL HOLDING THE BOX! 🤣🤣🤣😂
I love watching these every week.
I'm surprised Snob's not done the chainsaw sequels/remakes, because it's been a long time since he reviewed the original film.
Just finished watching the mst3k episode of Beast of Yucca Flats earlier, *so this hellraiser movie isn't that confusing.*
"They look like they're here for a knockoff of the Craft that Pinhead crashes!", 😆 Deader is shitty Hellraiser sequel, but it was a better sequel to the Craft than "the Craft: legacy".
And nobody says “I’m going to make you my _weatch!”_
Just nerding around
I´m surprised Steven Seagal didn´t pop up, he practically owns the Romanian straight-to-dvd market.
Nice. Patience is a virtue.
I agree. The last two weren't terrible, but this one is just stinky. I rate it a Deep Hurting out of ten.
In fact, I think 'Inferno' is fantastic. My 3rd favorite Hellrasier movie. Nowhere near as good as 1 and 2, but I enjoy it more than 3 and 4.
Oh God, you have to do "Hellworld" and "Revelations" next.
The most profound of sympathies.
This is true. Hellworld is especially awful....Hellraiser as a 2000's Dimension/Miramax teen slasher movie. UGHH! 'Revelations' was just dumb that rehashed the plot of the first. I will say though that 'Judgement' (while still pretty bad!) at lease "tried". and I think it's ten steps up from 'Hellworld' and 'Revelations'
@@river_acheron I oddly enjoyed Judgement
It sounded horrible but it was actually interesting
It's nowhere as good as the original Hellraiser or the sequel but it's ok
... Yeah you're gonna need to review the Midnight Meat Train now
What is it with direct-to-video sequels being near impossible to follow?
And damn! The Cinema Snob is burning through the Hellraiser franchise faster than Kari Wuhrer burned through her cigarettes!
I would assume it's because they have a very limited shooting schedule or a couple of weeks so often there are no usable shots for certain scenes due to either the clip being unusable or they forgot to film it, so they either have to cut the scene or confusingly piece it together from unrelated footage and dubbed in dialog.
Also can happen when they were working with an incomplete/early draft script and scenes are rewritten or added after production wraps.
Because they basically crammed 2 movies in one
Missed a joke at 2:56. Something about her boss Charles (Simon Kunz) being a discount Craig T. Nelson.
"The Arrogant Reporter" was played by .... Hugh Jorgin.
Hugh Jorgin? As in "Huge Organ"?
Well, "Alan Smithee" and "Judas Booth" can't be involved in EVERY movie they're embarrassed about. 😆😀
I wonder when Heywood Jablomie and Anita Dich will get their come uppance ...
The same time as Dewey, Cheatam and Howe go bankrupt as a law firm.
You joke, but I’m really excited to see what Drew P. Wiener does with the franchise
6:43 This smile said: "I'm gonna eat your Family alive"
Love you Brad ❤
I read the OG script once. it was really frickin cool, but I can imagine the effects being too expensive for the time.
Was Pinhead in it or was a original horror movie before being changed to a Hellraiser movie?
@@brandonspain12345 Original. There were these cracks between "night" and "day" worlds, and a creepy shapeshifting shark-man named Bobby.
Hellraiser in a movies title is just a warning label now.
Whoever said this one was the turd is out of their minds. This is easily the best of the straight-to-video "Hellraiser"s...out of an admittedly poor crop.
It's a great horror movie, but a horrible HELLRAISER movie, is the best I can say about it. Either way....it is 1000000 times better than the absolute piece of garbage, Hellworld. It's the only Hellraiser movie I can legit say I hate with every fiber of my being.
@@river_acheron what your take on Judgment?
@@lemon93 Judgement is a bunch of steps up from both ''Hellworld' and 'Revelations'. I could see what they wanted to do, and WOULD have done well if they had a decent budget. The beginning was especially awesome. However, It pissed me off that pre-release, they made it seem like Heather Langenkamp was going to be a major character, only to have her in the movie for a min or two. I also didn't like how they ditched Barker's mythos in favor of a Christian backdrop, with the angel and all that.
It's one of the "bad" Hellrasier sequels, but it's better than we have seen in quite some time, is my final take. It looks as if they are at least pretending to try again.
that No Doubt reference ☠️☠️☠️
The ranking is 2, 1, 4, 6, 5, 3, 7, then we can forget about the others but 8 had lance Hendrickson
At least it had a couple moments you don't normally see in most American films so props for that.
@StonedGremlinProductions
I know that Doug Bradley quit having any association with the films, but please do Revelations 🤣
Sure did make a lot of these damn, things didn't they.
Great job CineSnob! As always.
"He looks like John Malkovich. Delivers lines like George Carlin".
One of the very best.
Someday...he and I will do a review as a side by side. It'll be a hoot! Til then...as always, sit back...enjoy and laugh!
One of the very best you are good sir.
(And you are correct. "HR...Deader" stinks. On ice. Not even on par w "The Swarm" (1978) with its use of ridiculous camera-work.)
Only thing "The Swarm" has over this trash? Was a great cast slumming.
This flick? Lol. Not even recognizable stars dealing w a script that was likely-written by a 5 year old).
Rock on Bradster.
The "James Mason-esque voice" is a gem
Yeah I talked about a franchise that went off the rails like a train derailing into a fuel tank farm.
I love when you review horror. You must do all these horrid Hellraiser movies.
I think it would be neat if someone made movies based on the original scripts. It would be interesting to see what the screenwriter's ideas were before the screenplays were turned into Hellraiser films.
Deader is the only Hellraiser film that had a pre-existing script. You can find it in its original form on cenobite.com. Derrickson pitched Hellraiser Inferno to Dimension before a script was even drafted and Bota intentionally kept Pinhead's appearance in Hellseeker limited. Hellworld granted is based on an unrelated short story called "Dark, Can't Breathe" but the script was never a non-Hellraiser script.
@@mobileswordtype2 Hellraiser: Inferno was not originally written to be a Hellraiser sequel.
@@notvcinema8741 Derrickson himself stated he wrote the Hellraiser 5 script after delivering his pitch to the Weinsteins. The spec script rumor was started by Doug Bradley.
1:49-2:03 (Poor doggo)
2:15-2:27 (That's a hell of a title)
2:59-3:10 (He had the right idea)
3:50-3:59 (😳)
4:20-4:30 (🤣 not the No Doubt lyrics!)
5:07-5:12 (Doggo, no!)
6:06-6:12 (She's gonna open the box)
7:54-8:01 (He's fine)
8:37-8:49 (... Dude, what?)
9:20-9:27 (A huge possibility)
9:31-9:40 (🤣🤣🤣)
Whats up with the audio in this movie? My left ear is really loving all this dialogue.
Yikes on the new thumbnails.
Oh Hellworld will be great...or to quote Pinhead..."No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering."
The only thing I enjoyed about Deader was the unintentional hilarity of seeing the staples holding it together.
I love this one too, in my top 3 favorite Hellraiser movies.
At least they could say the Deader cult had as similar ethos of "searching the beyond" as the Cenobites
This feels like NCIS, Clarice, & Silent Hill than Hellraiser.
Excited for the HellWorld review, has some hot trash Henry Cavill and excellent use of Nokia phones lol
I had no idea that JAMES MASON was in this film!
A couple of the drawings on the editors office walls are actual works by Clive Barker
I love the ASMR of the crackhouse scene. Especially Kari Wuhrer's camera's shutter sound 😍
My dog sounds just like you when he talks!
10:34: You say Terry from last house on dead end street, I say they tried to make him look like Julia/Claire Higgins with that lighting, hair and earrings...
12:59 and thats wrong its the power of desire but i mean whatever they Retcon things just cuz
Had a huge crush on Kari Wuhrer as a kid when I watched her on MTV.
I love that you brought up she smokes so many grits. It's ridiculous!!
Hellworld, now that is a quintessential GAMER movie!
No. The quintessential GAMER movie is that god awful Stay Alive movie.
@@lutherheggs451 Or Game Over
Guys, there’s a Sherlock Holmes vs Cenobites book called Sherlock Holmes and the servants of Hell
I never seen this one and it's a shame that there is clearly a decent movie under the cover of being turned into a hellraiser movie. Maybe I'll have to check it out at some point.
Hellraiser!!
this movie is bad but its still looks like a masterpiece compared to the 2018 release
I don't think Inferno was adapted from another script, Scott Derrickson said it was pitched as a Hellraiser movie.
Trying to make a Hellraiser timeline is either extremely difficult or extremely easy, depending on whether or not you assume that the movies are connected.
That Tightrope poster...
I was always disappointed with Deader. But mainly because they had the perfect set-up in that base spec script to make a Nightbreed crossover happen. Religious themes, rumors of secretive group that holds the key to immortality. It always baffles me how they missed this opportunity.
Hoping eventually we have the Omega Code Saga. To me, one of the cinema-snobest movies ever made.
Wasn't that like a mockbuster of the Bible Code?
What's the red poster in the background? Kinda looks like Eastwood
...now to binge Sliders...
Fun fact: Charles actor plays the judge on IT Crowd
Dead Again was right there! (I didn’t mind this one, for what it was.)
Really these movies just make me wonder what other mediocre movies could have been turned into Hellraiser sequels.
The Fast And The Furious will crossover at some point.
Oh God, with a little work Manos could have been a Hellraiser movie.
The reverse was when a bunch of rejected Die Hard scripts became their own films. Under Siege was one of those. I do believe that Speed was one of those also.
Watching this franchise is like watching a kid you raised slowly turn into coke junkie..... or cocaine actually. You try to help, but rich Hollywood investors keep snorting the kids future away
Lol if you would have waited 1more day to drop this,I would have had to join your patreon
We need Phantasm and The Lawnmower Man reviews.
Just tried watching Deader again, could not get through it. This one feels like “Season of the Witch” of the Hellraiser franchise
Haha, dude, you're like the only Brad that makes me proud that I am also named Brad.
Why does her boss sound exactly like Malcolm McDowell but look exactly like Craig T Nelson? That’s a little jarring 😆
Amazing funny that cult leader want to be the new leader of hell by using the puzzle box then get stop by pinhead torn apart too.
The thumbnail is lacking compared to the others.
An uneven story but I actually quite enjoyed it. The atmosphere is " spot on". I think Rick Botas first 2 ventures (6 and 7) score an 8 out of 10 for me but #8 only gets a 6 out of 10.
It felt like Saw films with Pinhead thrown in the mix
There 3 more pinhead movies
Well in next film Geralt The Witcher (also known as Superman also known as Napoleon Solo, also known as... some ancient Greek hero) will fight Pinhead. I'm sure things will turn out great for him.
I really thought I had seen ever Hellraiser movie but somehow this one slipped past me...
Great video
Is there any way to get the link of Until September (1984)
I have searched a lot after seeing your video
