Last I check Americans line up for colourful rainbow hipster food for 3 hrs just to pay $30 for food colouring. Especially New Yorkers. People wait months to get reservations into the worlds best restaurants. Let me repeat it's free authentic cooked food probably highlighted before hand that it is also a show to gauge the contestants capabilities. It's a competition. It's also an experience. U don't go into the fear factor show and kick a person off the cliff cos it takes too damn long. They didn't leave the customers to die. To be unattended. There were professionals on the floor to assist. Probably some starters given to fill the customer like bread or what nots. They were serve free wine. 3hrs in an air condition room. Wtf.

@@Will11111 Your validity on having yet to make a presence in America as u term visit or having to be born in it, seems ignorant as to how many sources of news and research out there is on the internet of the country. Or any country I might add. Or any preferences of interest.
We don't live in a bat cave mate as much as your bombastic nature of words to reply shows you are and can be a well verse educated conversationalist.
To reiterate your point of not being present to experience the anti-america I projected, you were not in Hell's Kitchen as a guest nor a contestant. Or perhaps even met Gordon or dine in his restaurant. No media entertainment were built on politeness or lack of dramatic conflicts. It is called entertainment for a reason. It's like a judge in a singing competition will say you sound like a dying frog.
With possibly 200 hundred starving guests, Gordon's trying to handle, guide, discipline, satisfy running back and forth probably having to communicate to the camera crew, contestants, ground staff and to explain the situation to customers and apologise at the same time (you don't show behind the scenes). Needless to say no one wants to hear Gordon apologising 247 for half of the show and even if he did, we would have narcissistic customers holding their free wine telling him to fuck off instead. Which buying pizza is a definite fuck off. Fine dining restaurants will have their waiters or service staff check in you and update you on waiting time. It's not self service counter at KFC or Mickey Ds.
Before u jump into another wagon calling me Anti-Fastfood, how about you untie your narrow minded brain & stop feeling sorry for a customer who's told to fuck off after getting a nice air conditioned free food and expensive wine. Cos theres people who don't even get close to having those luxuries, probably outcasted in society and not even having enough money to eat gets told to fuck off everyday.
Also professionalism means the competence or skill expected of a professional which means as a designated Chef Gordon is doing his role in the kitchen as he should be, the customers seeking that service professionalism on the ground should seek the restaurant manager.
Long winded cos this discussion stems from the inconherent logic of siding hungry customers then perhaps debating on the skills of the contestants and the chef guiding them. Not to mention hot fires and sharp knifes right.
Oh yeah the customer also insulted and talk down on Jean Philippe saying he didnt even go to school right. But no let's pretend like we didnt see that cos it's ok they waited a solid 3 hrs.
