Hi! My name is Kaja. I work as a Creative Strategist by day and make RUclips videos by night ;D I grew up between Poland and Denmark, and for the past couple of years I have been living in Copenhagen, Shanghai, Bangkok, Paris and Warsaw, making videos about my travels, daily life & fashion.
As a Taiwanese, I found the flavour of Polish white cheese so unique. I've never tried something similar before.
My grandmother is Polish but she grew up in Brazil so I missed out on a ton of Polish culture! Thank you for videos like this! Hoping to go to Poland as soon as possible when it's safe :)
Hopefully you can visit once we travel again! :)
Hi
I love Poland 🇵🇱 👍
Did you know it was Polish Air Force pilots that help build Pakistan 🇵🇰 airforce academy, pilots such as Turowicz who became a 🇵🇰 citizen in 1956👍

Hi from poland
I've heard that for the first time from Uber driver, Pakistani gentleman, in Pennsylvania, USA :)
This is strange, that nobody in Poland knows about it.
At least I don't think it's popular knowledge :D
I really would like to learn more about it.
There is a documentary on RUclips about Polish pilots “Polskie orlęta na pakistańskim niebie” English subtitles.
I have heard about it years ago and actually told this story to my Pakistani friends at work and they had no idea about it and they were very surprised :-) I decided not to brag about it to my friends from India though lol
Hello. I'm from Ukraine. A lot of ukrainian people go to Poland for work and living so that was interesting to know some facts about it. A lot of traditions are similar by the way. We just don't have Donut day and Name day) Oh, and Santa comes in the night of December 31.
no we dont, you are orthodox ,and we are catholic you use cyrlic ,and we use latin only reson why ukrainias are saying this becouse they want to fell more western

Kaja! I just subscribed and am loving your Poland videos! I'm an American with Polish heritage who is obsessed with Poland. Have been many times and looking forward to this pandemic ending to get back. Your videos are definitely filling in the gap for now! Keep them coming!!!

Great channel♥️🤗 Amazing video my friend👏👏👏
Thank you very much!

Polish white cheese is twaróg, which is sometimes translated as quark.
…and quarks are those parcticles the protons and neutrons are made of… ;)
[psst… an equivocation was here]
Thanks for mentioning that one in particular :) Twaróg was my nickname for the most of my life, I wonder why...

Jagellonian University is NOT the oldest university in Christian Europe. That honor belongs to the University of Bologna or more probably the University of Salerno, both in Italy.
I meant the 2nd oldest :)

I'm from Silesia where we don't celebrate name day. However what I heard is that same name in calendar can occour few times during a year so typicially you celebrate that name day which is closest to your birthday.
Actually the logic says that you pick up the nearest date AFTER your B-day. Some names are less popular than others and they have less birthdays days to pick from as the others.
I have a picture of myself in front of the church that’s in the thumbnail! I loved Warsaw! I hope to return someday, it felt like home :)
You have the best contemporary art museum, the one in Lodz.
As a Polish American I think u r Awsomely Wonderful. Please write a book about Poland. I see u with a mask so how has covid affected Poland? Please make video blog about that. Thank u sooo much🙂
Striped flint can only be found in Poland. Jewelry with it, is extremely hard to bought outside our country
Also Fat Thursday has no fixed date. :)
It is the last Thursday of Carnival and a week before Ash Wednesday - the beginning of Lent
Hey Kaja. Thank you for sharing these random facts about Poland 🇵🇱 Just one suggestion to include tough Polish words mentioned as text in the video. Being a person outside of Europe, I could not catch the city name of Poland's famous Vodka as well as the biggest university name. Cheers
Belvedere vodka, made in Zyrardow - small town close to Warsaw. You may get there in less than an hour by train. A cheaper one, but superior quality is Wyborowa. The oldest Polish university is The Jagiellonian or Jagellonian University is in Krakow. (Uniwersytet Jagielloński).

A big thank you to all the Polish people and Government for supplying 1 million doses of Pfizer vaccine to Australia this week (26August 2021). We are way behind on vaccinations and are shutdown due to the spread of Delta variant Covid-19 in Sydney and other parts of the Land Down Under.
Polish people often do generous and heroic things for other countries, even when in troubled times themselves. Respect and honour to you all.

5. Malbork is world's largest brick castle. So it's narrowed to category of castles made out of bricks.
My oldest cousin goes to that uni but god dam he is so smart (he’s fully polish and I have British polish and I’m dumb af)
That white cheese is called "twaróg" :)
Actually most Polish food is ŻUREK, which is a soup. Different dumplings are in many other countries.
So if you change your name what happens? Your name day changes?

Polish surnames don't always change, but the fact is - they often do. You don't change a surname like: Sroka, Bednorz, Kowal, etc. 8:55 - Twaróg :P

White Polish cheese? Are you talking about twaróg? How can you not know that it is called twaróg??? How is it even possible? Its like being Polish and not knowing that Polish dunplings are called pierogi 0_0
Tłusty Czwartek (Fat Thursday) is related to religion, it's rituals not just donuts!

Warsaw has a population of 1.77 million. The 3 biggest exporters of beer (in value) are: 1. Mexico 2. The Netherlands 3. Belgium. Sorry for being like this... I just had to correct you here, I can't help myself. Loved the video tho!
About 100 milion of donuts are eaten on Fat Thursday ;p Thats a lot of donuts xD

If you want to see how warsaw was destroys in 1945 look on youtube film "warsaw city of ruins"
Hi
There are so many "inaccuracies" in this film that it's hard to comment on it. Well, but one by one:
2:14 - It is not even in the top three oldest universities that EXIST until today.
3:05 Are you creating any new holidays? Since when is "Fat Thursday" a "donut celebration day"? This is the last day before Lent, which is why, according to tradition, people eat fat / caloric things. Nobody celebrates donuts - it's like saying that Christmas Eve is a festival of eggs because in the Polish tradition eggs are eaten as traditional dishes.
3:42 - Even though I do not care about your name day, as far as I know, your name day is the closest to your birthday. So it's not like everyone with the same name has to have their name day on the same day.
I will not pick on the rest of the inaccuracies, although there were some of them. It's nice that you are talking about Poland, but it would take you about 10 minutes to check this incorrect information.
I don’t think those information are incorrect ;)
Something wrong with microphone.
Mushrooms 🤣🤣🤣🤣...that's the only problem with Mushrooms 🍄
I'm pretty sure I've seen a bigger castle somewhere in Italy , can't recall the name.
The biggest medieval castle is in Malbork is in Poland.
Are there trees in Poland? I like trees. They are pretty. duh, they have leaves too.

Współczesny, dostępny w sklepach twaróg w postaci kostek to rodzaj masy, zbitej w prostopadłościan i owiniętej papierem, chociaż to również w ostatnim czasie uległo zasadniczym zmianom."

Live in Krakow and don't regret moving to Poland, do you think that Poland has a declining population?
The population is kept up by immigration, for now, but it is a problem
Belweder is not best wódka :P
Why would anyone think that Polish speaks Russian?
I look jewish .... would that be a problem while visiting P::::?
also, would speaking german in poland cause difficulties ?
Speaking German would not cause difficulties, but this language is not the first choice. English rules! Jews are walking freely without police to protect them. Being a Jew in PL you are much safer than in Germany or France.
being Jew isnt a problem in Polnad, we like Jews, we saved Jews during ww2 and 10% of our population were Jews, we arent hatefull like belarusians but I think it would be a Little problem if you speak German becouse very low % of Poles speak German

☝️ Other similar languages to Polish 🇵🇱, that is Slovak language 🇸🇰 and Czech language 🇨🇿. Absolutely no Ukrainian language 🇺🇦. I don't understand Ukrainian at all. The Ukrainians use the Cyrillic and we (Poles, Slovaks and Czechs) use Latin characters and certain words that the Czechs have acquired from Latin, we Poles have acquired from the Czechs.
☝️ Inne pdobne języki do języka polskiego 🇵🇱, to oczywiście język słowacki 🇸🇰 i język czeski 🇨🇿. Absolutnie żaden ukraiński 🇺🇦. Ni w ząb nie rozumię języka ukraińskiego. Ukraińcy używają cyrylicy a my (Polacy, Słowacy i Czesi) znaków z alfabetu łacińskiego i pewne słowa które Czesi przyswoili z łaciny, my Polacy przyswoiliśmy od Czechów.
