nice job. this was my favorite level, the whole chase scene was sooo intense. The helicopter shooting at you and everything around you, sliding down the building, sliding down a slope and then onto the bridge etc. And the music is excellent too.
protip: when confronted with a waitline obstacle you can either jump over or slide under, you seem to take the option to coil jump across. However, if you look slightly up and manage to press jump on the moment you touch it you will "speed vault", which actually uses the object to increase speed. if you dont time it, you will do a normal vault, which slows you down slightly. sliding always slows you down a lot.
Haha, omg you're right about the white plants :D I've completed the main story, found all 30 bags and completed all the time trials and speed runs.. and I never realized the plants are white untill now.. I must have been running too fast :D btw nice run
@KoTowaty The game takes place in a "futuristic" city with a government that monitors all forms of communication and media. The main protagonist is part of a group that secretly delivers messages and attempt to stay "off the grid" above the city. (Where they can't be monitored) The government has a zero-tolerance policy for rebels, therefore bullets must be sprayed. :P
Aerox360a - yeah, I had that problem, but just ignore the railings, they're a pain. You can't wall-run because of projections on the building. Climb up onto the building that the railings are attached to and jump from the right hand end corner. It's higher and you can get up some speed. Slide-land, to save the time lost recovering from a straight landing.
Very nice, there are a few short ways I didnt know. You could save some seconds anyways in the yellow outdoor part, like avoid rolling or climbing directly to the stairs jumping from the wall. Hard to explain with words. Will try this today!!
[Continued from previous comment...] But the point is is that you didn't disappoint me :] in fact I would've gone the exact same way as you did just a few short cuts here and there lol. THANKS FOR THE HONEST GAME PLAYS! :D
BTW Fail at 3.00 Instead of jumping down on the pillow thing. Run along the wall (u need to jump in the last second). Both from start and in end. Then u will hit the box right after the pillow. make a roll and run. saves u like 10 seconds
actually I am playing on the 360, I hadn't had it installed at this point, and installing made a HUGE difference. Honestly, most of those loading screens were something like 20 seconds long, it was absolutely ridiculous.
Yes, all the plants in the game are white. Any that don't appear to be are being effected by the ambient light. The plants are white because they are painted.
...no, as you see from my video, there are several load screens, most of them were 20 seconds or so long. now that I've installed it, they don't even come up.
Lol, my time was 5:59:63 in first try, I was really happy I made it. But I lost 20 seconds because I used the regular way at 1:30 - 1:45. Now I've got the first 2 trophies for speed run, i hope i can get the others, too. (but it'll take looong time) I'll come back to your youtube channel if i have any problems xD
The best reason to choose one console over the other is your preference on games. I, myself chose the 360 because I like more of their exclusive IPs, while the only PS3 games I'd be interested in are Little Big Planet and MGS4 (recall that FF13 is coming to 360 now too, it was one of the major sony exclusives) It really is all about taste, but in general terms, 360 has more shooters, and PS3 has more RPGs (those seem to be two of the most polarizing genres when it comes to games)
@NewYorkKidd I read online that a sequel is in developement, will be out in a few years though since DICE want to get the game engine as good as possible.
@LyzzDee That actually is helpful, as dumb as it sounds. When you're being chased, people are often tempted to look back and see how close their persuer is.
I would defiantely recommend installing Mirror's Edge to your HDD. I haven't checked yet, but I am pretty sure it took about 5.6 gigs. Any how, it makes loading times almost 300% faster! (at least it seemed that way (could be even more)) It even reduces the frequency of loads. I'm [un]lucky if I get 1 load a level. :D
had a feeling this was the 360 version because of all the loading level stops in the stage, on the ps3 version theres not that many ( probably on the account of it installing at the beginning, wasnt a bash at 360, just an observation)
well i had a 360 (sold it yesterday xD), and i personly prefer the ps3 more than the 360, but if you choose the xbox, then make sure you get one of the (unofficial) new versions. you can only identify them on their wattage, and they are quieter, have almost no chance of RoD and their screen doesnt get frozen any longer. -if there is anything you want to know just ask me ^^, i think i know pretty much everything (a normal guy) needs to know about both consoles :D
@MrGiokay1 Yea I'm still doin my freerunning/parkour.. Fractured my skull to the minimal where I was able to keep it hidden from my parents lol.. And blacked out a few times from similar head injuries.. But I'm still going strong. Cool you tried your hand at the sport (more like lifestyle).. Yea it was a very short game. Hopefully they give the sequel more replay value.. As well as online capabilities.. Lookin forward to it's release... (Or any pregame media releases for that matter)
hey man, dont u know that the DVDS connected to TVS have an optionj to record what ARE you watching or doing on ur TV on a CD or whatever, u can do it like that with all consoles, in the case of PC u need to use any good gaming recorder, fraps its okay but there are betters
strange i really didnt think playing it from the hard drive would make that much of a difference cause it doesnt seem to with other games...guess maybe dice designed the game to take advantage of that feature or something? cause yeah that message only popped up maybe 3 or 4 times throughout the whole game for me
omfg!! i went the same way as u but i made like 2 mistakes lol and i finished at 05:59:75thats like 1/100 of the a second close!! omfg how lucky...anyway thanks man
what is the deal with the mid level load times!? San Andreas for the PS2 didn't even have mid level load times and it doesn't have a hard drive. Hope they fix that for the sequel.
i need help... after i enter the elevator it opens a load screen at gets be back to main meny from which if i hit continue im back at that same stage I CANT PASS THE ELEVATOR what do i need to do? is it a bug...or maybe i need to get ALL of the bags...plz answer fast
@Xiquad IF YOU HAVENT TRIED THIS GAME, AND YOU LOVE ORIGINAL GAMES..... DEFINETLY PLAY IT.... IT IS QUITE SHORT, BUT I THINK IT IS ONLY BECAUSE IT IS EXCITING ;)
what platform are you playing this on? cause im positive there was no part in the first chapter where that "loading level" thing came up when i played this on the 360,i was playing it from the hard drive but i was under the impression that was only supposed to reduce loading times by at most 30% not eliminate them
PS3 and 360. Its definitely a fun game but very short. Speed runs provide some decent replay value tho. And there is exclusive DLC for the PS3. Dont know how good it is tho
It's really surprising how much has been discovered since the original release of Mirror's Edge. Today this run would be considered noobish.
nice job.
this was my favorite level, the whole chase scene was sooo intense. The helicopter shooting at you and everything around you, sliding down the building, sliding down a slope and then onto the bridge etc. And the music is excellent too.
Thank you very much for showing the shortcuts! I got a time of 05.49.98. Not great or anything, but I at least got my trophy, lol.
protip: when confronted with a waitline obstacle you can either jump over or slide under, you seem to take the option to coil jump across. This is like the most realistic game i've ever seen. No joke.
Haha, omg you're right about the white plants :D I've completed the main story, found all 30 bags and completed all the time trials and speed runs.. and I never realized the plants are white untill now.. I must have been running too fast :D btw nice run
Honestly, I've been waiting for someone to point that out.
Thank you, i am at the last part of chapter 9 now, looking forward to speedrun! :)
@KoTowaty The game takes place in a "futuristic" city with a government that monitors all forms of communication and media. The main protagonist is part of a group that secretly delivers messages and attempt to stay "off the grid" above the city. Great run! :) I'd love to see more of these!

this game gets my adrenaline to a really high level
Good run. At the red hallway at 3:48 you can actually wallrun straight past the gaurds. Saves a few seconds.
Thanks for the video :)
Thanks to a few of your tricks a got a time of 5:25 on this level :)
actually I am playing on the 360, I hadn't had it installed at this point, and installing made a HUGE difference. Honestly, most of those loading screens were something like 20 seconds long, it was absolutely ridiculous.

The plants are white because they are painted.
Scary. I just bought this game for 12 bucks and I'm just starting. Already having trouble, good run!
I've seen some mistakes but also some shortcuts I hadn't notice before
Pretty awesome ^__^
...no, as you see from my video, there are several load screens, most of them were 20 seconds or so long. now that I've installed it, they don't even come up.
Nice job on the speed run!!

omg xbox has ALOT more and longer loading sequences than the PS3 O_o Nice run. I learned some stuff :) ty
The time stops when you're waiting on an elevator.
@LyzzDee That actually is helpful, as dumb as it sounds. When you're being chased, people are often tempted to look back and see how close their persuer is.
@LyzzDee
In the german version he says: Don´t look what´s behind you, just run.
Nice run. 5/5. Helped me a lot.
one of my favourtite chapters in the game.
great job, my best is 5.45 but you showed me some good ways to improve my time
@goutham122
The game is out on PS3 yes, but this vid was captured from a 360.
LOL That guy at the end was like
"Holy shit a runner! Hi! Can I have your autograph?!"

Done like only a true machine is capable of.
@CatMan221 I have it for 360 and iv never seen that Loading Level screen before.
nice speedrun!!! except for the loading times that was very quick
I don't play this game for months but when i saw this video i want to try myself. I've got time 5.32 in this chapter at my first passing ;)
I agree. Mouse controls give you an advantage. I've tried both.
when you get the NXE you really should install this onto your HDD. I did it and I never even knew there where in-game load screens.
impressive time considering you missed for of the high risk shortcuts. gives me hope as I'm revisiting the game for completion.
Argh I always fall at the begiining when you have to jump to the lower building!
had a feeling this was the 360 version because of all the loading level stops in the stage, on the ps3 version theres not that many ( probably on the account of it installing at the beginning, wasnt a bash at 360, just an observation)
He's going so fast, the game forgot to load the level!
That drop at 2:42 must be at least 4 stories high.
@Zielnik2009 for both. THIS GAME ROCKS
This is sooo much more entertaining when you watch it 1911 style xD
@RukaleHuntah For example 2:00 - I don't have this screen on my PC
Police Commander:Do NOT run, I repeat do not RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN
You have to finish the story mode ;). When you have done that, it's above 'time trials'
Good luck :P

fuckin love the lift part, 30 secs of massive jumps then *punch*
@InappropriateBanana In a word, parkour.
Installing the game on the 360 harddrive cures alot of that too - with the speed of the game, there's alot of data to read off the disk I imagine.
It happens if you go so fast the game doesn't have time to load the next part of the level
hey man, dont u know that the DVDS connected to TVS have an optionj to record what ARE you watching or doing on ur TV on a CD or whatever, u can do it like that with all consoles, in the case of PC u need to use any good gaming recorder, fraps its okay but there are betters
The doors that your suppose to go through are red. All the other doors that aren't can't be opend.
all platforms I think.
Good run :D
Great, thanks for this video, after a lot tries I finally got it :) 5*
@23492727 Yeah, not on the PC-version ;) It's so cheap on Steam sometimes, it's great...
strange i really didnt think playing it from the hard drive would make that much of a difference cause it doesnt seem to with other games...guess maybe dice designed the game to take advantage of that feature or something? cause yeah that message only popped up maybe 3 or 4 times throughout the whole game for me

Some nice shortcuts here, with those I should get the 6:00 easily.
i need help... after i enter the elevator it opens a load screen at gets be back to main meny from which if i hit continue im back at that same stage I CANT PASS THE ELEVATOR what do i need to do? is it a bug...or maybe i need to get ALL of the bags...plz answer fast
@RE4gamerrrrrr I'm not sure if he meant it that way
Good job man!! I bet you could shave off a couple of seconds too. It looked like at 0:29 - 0:30 those pipes snagged you just a little.
great run :)
With the side step boost and the wallrun kick glitch, I did that chapter in 5:18:50...
360 now allows games to be installed on the hd now, I did it with mirror's edge and theres no mid-level loads. period.
5:44:80
Man you're awesome thnx a lot
5:44.32. FEELS GOOD MAN
this game was so intense
Have you hear the word shortcut?
nice little homage to jackie chan's who am i in ther :)
People have 2 minutes on this run on the leaderboards, how the heck do they do that
It's a shame there is so much loading. You'd think from using Unreal Engine 3, that the entire level would be loaded, no problem. Bummer
I didn't know that they cut level sizes down for this. have you ever lost focus becasue of that?
@Xiquad IF YOU HAVENT TRIED THIS GAME, AND YOU LOVE ORIGINAL GAMES..... DEFINETLY PLAY IT.... IT IS QUITE SHORT, BUT I THINK IT IS ONLY BECAUSE IT IS EXCITING ;)
This works on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions.
At the very end, an Xbox achievement pops up, so this was recorded on Xbox.
why does it load the level alot that never happens on ps3
what platform are you playing this on? cause im positive there was no part in the first chapter where that "loading level" thing came up when i played this on the 360,i was playing it from the hard drive but i was under the impression that was only supposed to reduce loading times by at most 30% not eliminate them
On the PC you dont have to wait for the level loads :)
do i have to beat the game in order to do a speedrun
because im trying to get the chapter speedrun achievements and i dont no how to get them
PS3 and 360. Its definitely a fun game but very short. Speed runs provide some decent replay value tho. And there is exclusive DLC for the PS3. Dont know how good it is tho
@MrGiokay1 Understandable.. Pleasure talkin Mirror's Edge with you..
Freerunning/Parkour FTW
@hybridtechowns Yea it is on the pc version so they probably modified the game. I can never get how people feel satisfied when they cheat, i never do.
i never get loading points on 360 version?
i see this game and remind me of breakdown so fast
how to start speedrun ?
just got the game and trying to do level also how do u jump far
Yes, only if this human is well trained :)
awesome your video was so good that I will buy this game!!!!
okay i must admit i am rather jealous... =/
there isnta sprint button is there?? it seem s like i run soo slow..
