Yknow as a kid, Conor truly helped me feel validated about a lot of shit I didn’t have anyone else explain or validate for me. Just brooding angst and I needed that shit. And as I’ve gotten older I’ve revisited so much of his music and I’m consistently mind blown by how these songs are so…transformational.
Also I love the appearance of the dog in this, I wonder if they’re still alive after 10.5 years. Thanks everyone ✨
this album is SO underrated. One of Bright Eyes's best.
My mom enjoyed this song because it says lion of Judah painted on the side. She passed way about 5 years ago from cancer.. thank bright eyes for always speaking to my heart my soul and my intellectual. Love you guys and I hope to see you guys before you call it a quits.
Beautiful story. Wonderful way of remembering your mother’s life and the struggles she endured. I can’t imagine. I’m sorry to hear. Keep strong
This album matters just as much 10 years later as it did in 2011. Interesting times we live in! Keep the love in your heart and thirst for knowledge ever flowing.
Much love everyone
Anyone else ever notice that right as "the Ladder Song" is about to begin, everyone in the room all leave at once... leaving the listener to essentially listen to the song "alone"...and then some people return for the final song right as it starts.... I wonder if that was intentional or a coincidence...I've played this video to listen to tons of times and I just now caught that... anyway this album is an absolute masterpiece. One of a kind.
BRIGHT EYES 2020
Just picked up tickets for the UK leg of the tour. Cannot wait.
Thank you so much for everything. Every album is a masterpiece. I've listened to them since I was young, all growing up, so many years, the albums would evolve. Truly my destiny band life long lover... eternally... I really love you... thank you...thank you...so much.

Glad there’s others out there like me!!! Felt the albums grow with me through my youth to adulthood ❤️
I have to say, Bright Eyes has been a catalyst for my spiritual and emotional development. I feel I am greatly indebted to Conor Mike and Nate. Seriously, I knew what the subject matter of the album was gonna be as soon as I heard about it. It's just the next step in the spiritual evolution that is Bright Eyes. This album is everything I wanted it to be. Can't wait to see it live.
the more mainstream , pop-esque sounds of Upside-down Mountain kept me from listening to the album through for awhile, but after hearing 'Common Knowledge' and then digging through the tracks I can honestly say it's an equally as beautiful masterpiece as The Peoples Key , give it a listen if you haven't yet
Theres not a singer out there who can write and sing with as much passion and humility as Conor does. His music touches my soul every time. Album of the year hands down!
i took a serious fall of the musical bandwaggon. i am just now hearing this album for the first time. as always, amazing music.
How does this only have 270K views? It should have millions!
Because Cardi B is so crazy more talented than this moron Conor.
I'm at least 50 of them
I remember a couple years ago I had a really bad day, and I watched this video, and slept good.
You are so right.
The People's Key is an incredible album, every track is so genius and enlightening especially with the whole sci-fi vibe. Also some moments in this stream are adorable (aka Conor and doggy)
They could phase shift from one dimension to another dimension.
for it to solidify or crystalize we have to have both elements. the good and the bad. one for me now one for you.. but best leave those old ideas at the station or you'll melt down to your ankles but ride the rollercoaster out to the land of tomorrow. itl be fine.. it's I and I instead of eye for and eye. break thru the firewall into 2D flatlanders 2 3D mudslingers into the portal that connects this earth of 3d into 4D and as the dregs of December bring sorrows so will we too when we suffer the spirits and you'll know a diving bell when you hear it likely to get the bends ascending without balance but reentering atmosphere can bring hitlers to their begging knees. senior seen by eye and I.
Having had to intensely study Postmodernism poetry over the last few weeks I am really really glad to finally hear modern poetry with any aesthetic value whatsoever. Lyrics from another space, just incredible.
i absolutely cant wait until march so i can hear all of these songs played live at radio city music hall. genius. absolutely amazing. this album is phenomenal.
LOVED IT!!!! LOVED IT!!! LOVED IT!!! WISH I COULD BE THERE IN THE LISTENING PARTY...I STAYED THE ENTIRE TIME...THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM...FOR 2011...GREAT JOB...THANK YOU.
Hey everyone! Don't forget to get listen to the hidden B-Side track of this album "Singularity"...its literally the perfect ending to this Masterpiece of an album.
does anyone else out there listen to this entire stream like every two or three days?
I can't get enough of this. Very Beautiful.
I unconditionally adore you, Conor. Every album you conceive and compose is a complete work of art. And together your albums carry us through a journey of growth, discovery, and revelation. Come to Seattle!!!!! We miss you!
I love this album so much. I saw Bright Eyes two weeks ago in Indianapolis & Conor was so sweet to the crowd & talked to us as if he knew us individually. I can't even begin to express my appreciation for the beautiful music he has written for everyone to enjoy. I love Bright Eyes & always will. This album is absolutely amazing.
Much Love!
~Emily
My favorite song off this album is "Approximate Sunlight" 16:50-21:06. "All I do is follow, just follow this hollow you around...."
Malini 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💕🙏
I love this album it always raises my spirits
I am absolutely in love with the sound. Every thing this man and his musical collaborators put out increases my respect for their music and music as a whole. I'm excited as fuck.
this album was the greatest "band's finale" if there ever was one
every album should be released with a video like this.
it is like a pre-release listen with the band.
great idea!
Knowing his music, this is something I'm not altogether surprised for them to have posted. Such talent and integrity.
This album is so great I just can't explain it with words.
this ones great, might be my favorite bright eyes album.
What a brilliant way to listen to an entire album as music was intended, especially in the age of single song downloads, top marks for this video and top album.
I have just spent the past 50 minutes watching that entire video thinking just how amazing it would be to be sitting in that room, having a conversation with them all.
My boyfriends taking me to see Bright Eyes on Valentines day. BLESSED! I truly cannot wait!
I would have been there. This is definitely my favorite album since 2005. (Although I have listened to Cassadaga countless times in the last 4 years, I really don't think they have numbers for the amount of times I have played that record)
Frankly, this was pretty phenomenal. Obviously there's differences from previous albums, but the ideas and the heavier sound still give me the same indescribable feeling that I get when I listen to Bright Eyes albums. Can't wait for the show in March!
I love this still.. 2021
i love it when conor starts showing stuff to the camera =D
jackKross98 yaaaaay
this is the shit. thank you connor. and everyone else who put in on this album. every night, i turn on this video and lay still, listening to every word and every note. when it ends, i restart it. for hours on end. i had almost forgot how much i love bright eyes. im so glad this album came out, at just the right time, too. i hadnt been this into bright eyes in years. but as soon as this came out, it brought back all of my old feelings. I love you guys. I hope there's more to come.
Beautiful from start to finish. Thank you bright eyes!
I am writing a novel to this right now. This band has been an inspiration to me for so long. It has gotten me through joy and heartache and love alike. It has inspired me to do many things, things as simple a thing as get up in the morning or as complicated as writing a new song. I have no words for how much I love this album or any of this band’s music. Without Bright Eyes I would not be who I am. So thanks Nate, Mike, and of course, Conor. I love the new music. Can’t wait to buy it.
It's so funny when Conor holds up that article from The New York Post and the fact that he framed it hahahahaha But seriously this album took a little while to grow on me and now it's one of my favorites, so good!
When a new Bright Eyes album is coming out, I'm always skeptical, thinking to myself "Can he do it again?" And every time I berate myself for being so foolish.
Another amazing album added to an already amazing discography filled with amazing music that anyone from any walk of life can find some meaning in. Perhaps my favorite thing about this band is how at first glance nothing he sings about has any meaning, then you listen again and again...
And swear to yourself he wrote it just for you.
The album is amazing, my favorite song is shell games and I love how you mention all your previous record covers in the first line of the song =)
You guys are amazing, please keep up the awesome work, your music really does change lives =)
Greatest album of all time.
I just listen to this... It''s so good. I was born in 1980 and i've grown with debut albums of Conor Oberst. I "survived with" is more just. And i love them. This one can be as touching and overwhelming to me. But it's good, so good.
This might be my new favorite Bright Eyes album. The album stream was a good idea--I love the "Hug Me" balloon in the background too :) thanks for all of the Awesome music, Bright Eyes--it has been crucial to helping me through life
I wore his hoodie for a whole day at work.. my friend accidentally took it when we were chilling in his bus. she let me wear it and then the next day she drove it to him in NYC.. and this was filmed.after all that. so yeah I wore that hoodie
Matthew Patterson question... how did you get to chill on his bus? I gotta meet this legend
I know this is old but what brand of hoodie is that ? I’ve always wanted one like his but never could find one
Love this. Being able to experience The People's Key with you, in this fantastic room. Hope we can do it all in real time soon soon soon.
the more i listen to that album the more i loooove it! good job :)
i love this album and video! what I wouldn't give to be in that room
Picture on the living room wall reminds me of TatW's Wild Like Children album cover.
I see that now but before I saw brickleberry
Im so glad this album is in my Life !!!
Thank you for inviting us to your listening party.
I will also be at that show, love seeing Conor at First Avenue!
Mexico and the entire WORLD will miss you 4ever and ever!!!! This is the last day of my life!!!
Just have to say...I felt like I was in the room conversing with y'all and especially snuggling and playing with the dog. What a beautiful way to share you art. And your lyrics stretch my mind...love it a great visual work out :) I have an old dog that used to look just like yours...best dog ever!
this album is all i could ask for to get me through the rest of this goddamn winter
There was a time when all I listened to was Bright Eyes, it spanned for about 6 years. Now I'm an adult, and now in twenty years, I will say while I am an old man, "There was a time when I was an adult and I listened to Bright eyes for 20 years" and this cycle will continue until I am dead.
I'm sad to hear that this is the last album, I am also glad that this is the last album because it is leaving on a good note without anyone dying or some obscure band break up.
Thank you so much Bright Eyes.
It truly is one of my all time favorite albums ever. I can be myself and dance to the beat and the soul that is shared in this treasure!!!’ 💚🌎💚
see them on 23 february in amsterdam
i am exactly going to live like that with my future room.
beamer and vinyl record player=D
This album is way too good.

Love this as much as your ambulance ep
I remember when they posted this and I watched it twice in a row while tripping on acid
I got a show in Mil, WI and then a two-nighter in MN right after.
Bright Eyes-apalooza!!
i really really really urge you all to REALLY listen to the words spoken on this album. starting with cassadaga, and culminating in this album ive been on the greatest spiritual journey of my life, and this music has led the way
I just accidentally bought this album 9 times because itunes wasn't loading fast enough
so worth it.
I'm still here☆☆☆
Such a masterpiece this is.
I do think Bright Eyes are a precious jewel, along with every Conor's side project.
Take this album: if you just let yourself get carried away by the music flow, by the beautiful images that are wonderfully tied together, and by the feelings that they magically generate, you'll go on the most mind-blowing journey you'll ever know. And in the end, you'll feel incredibly enriched.
Peace.
I'm really glad bright eyes came through Florida, but I'd love it so much more if they could pass through just once more :)
Yes! Can't wait for the show tonight as well!
The album is incredible. The best part of this video is connor being silly and bringing things up to the camera :)
Moving this playhead around is like a sonic adventure. Glad y'all are back and bringin' it.
So, God's honest truth; the first time I listened to the album I didn't like it.
After a couple of hours of deep reflection and meditation (making truffles) I listened to it again and totally loved it. This is the first album to really make me work for it, I like that.
Fantastic job boys.

too bad no one was there to listen to Ladder Song, my favorite track from the album. i love this idea of listening to the album for the first time with Conor and his friends. can't wait to see you guys live in Stockholm in a few weeks! :) be sure to play Ladder Song. see you in Sweden!
Thanks for the joy
"your not alone in anything. your not alone in tryin, to be."
I am also sad to hear that this will be Bright Eyes late album. I matured with Bright Eyes, and each Album will always make me feel young. This album is amazing. I cannot wait for it to come in the mail.
I would also like to note how much I loved the Atlanta show! The performance was perfect. I could not ask for a better show, thank you so much!
Connor, I just want to say I think you a musical genius and I have been listening to you since 1997 when I had your 7" with Squadcar back in 97". We crossed paths at the Norva in Norfolk Virginia in 2007, it was just you at the bar and me and my boyfriend at the time at Kellys Backstage Tavern that led into the Norva, The Felice Brothers were opening. We locked eyes at the bar which felt like eternity I had short dark hair at the time. I recently saw you at The Filmore in Denver.
So grateful for Your Sacrifice Conn!
THAT SHIRT. THIS VIDEO. HIS LIVING ROOM. HIM. CONOR OBERST. THIS IS TOO MUCH TO HANDLE.
love this. Already listened like 4 times.
Thanks for the experience....

An 80s omage that will pay off in the long run.
