    Hi Jason.
    Really enjoyed both videos about the Slieve Blooms, It shows that you dont have to be up on the highest peaks of Ireland to enjoy nature and good views. A lot of good shots in there ( and a lot of back and forth running to retrieve camera 🥵) . Well done👍

    • @RamblingOn

      I am a gluten for punishment 😄 I think the extra effort was worth it and by not taking the shortcuts along the way I got to see some of the best parts of the trail. The Slieve Blooms are underrated, I absolutely love them I'll definitely do this one again someday. Thanks very much for watching, have a good weekend 👍

      I still haven't mastered just being myself on camera. It normally happens the next morning on a wild camp or like this on the second day. I'm slowly getting better. I did edit some clips from almost a year ago for this weeks video. It showed me how much I have improved so far but it was fair cringey 😄 Ah yeah my knee hasn't been in the best of form with me since but I'll get it sorted.. Cheers for all your support, I did say it to my wife this morning that you hadn't commented yet 😅 No pressure 😁 but it is appreciated.. I hope you have a good week, all the best 👍

    Those walk by's onthe uphill are true dedication :D Thats amazing pace for that trail. Not a fan of cows either especially when I have the dog(s), they get pretty aggressive. Going up on Monday so hope they are busy doing cow stuff when we pass them.

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  3 года назад +2

      When I'm walking away from the camera there are moments when I question my life choices 😄 Yeah hopefully they are so engrossed in their cow business that they don't even notice you. Are you doing the full trail or a section? I was thinking the winter would be ideal becasue the cows would be in the sheds 😁 Never mind the freezing wet weather and the short dark days. Once the cows are gonzo

    Really enjoyed both those videos. 80km in two days plus filming is mental! I know you missed the family but it would probably have been a lot more enjoyable over 3 days. Interesting to see how well managed the tracks are. Very little of that here in Donegal which is both a good and bad thing! Looking forward to seeing more videos. Are you doing a Slieve Bloom kit video?

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  3 года назад

      The filming slows things down quite a bit to be fair but I enjoy that part too so it's all good. I'll have to get used to missing them because a lot of the way marked trails are 3 days or more 😄. I just kept at a nice pace for and I enjoyed the trail. I don't feel like I rushed it but I would say you are right and if anyway asked for my opinion I would say to spread it over the three days. Delighted I finished it that day though because if I had of stayed out the second night I wouldn't have got the views up by the stoney man or the ridge of Cappard because there was a fog down the next morning.. I was back up that way with my daughter showing her that house at Kinnitty castle. Ah I need to get up to Donegal next year.. That will be a few days purely because of the distance. I did a really quick video of the gear I brought ruclips.net/video/6WWu-TPpL_k/видео.html
      The only thing I swapped was the gas and obviously purification tablets are a must or a Grayl water purifier would be ideal. I'll do better kit videos in the future, I'm still figuring out the videos so that ones probably not the best but it's everything I brought. Oh I left the groundsheet out too. You can see now where I got the name for the channel from 'Rambling on' 😅 Cheers Niall, all the best👍
