The question still stands, how is this passing our TSA checkpoints though?!!?

Is it arrogance or willful ignorance? Who doesn't know by now that when traveling to a foreign country, there are certain objects - like fire arms and ammunitions - you check and double check and check again to ensure you're not carrying anything remotely contrabanded? In these matters, carelessness is inexcusable.

I get what you are saying, you aren't wrong regarding the letter of the law, but saying it is "inexcusable" is in itself somewhat arrogant. Intent matters as well. While Turks is under no obligation to consider the intent of these travelers, in these cases Turks most certainly didn't apprehend the type of offender this law is designed to apprehend, so yes I hope that is taken into consideration during their respective trials & that leniency might be realized.

Why would they willfully do something for which there is absolutely zero incentive and life crushing disincentive?

At this point we need to start acknowledging that this isn’t accidental and that these thugs were trafficking ammunition.

People should know about the laws in the jurisdictions they visit/travel to. This reminds me of the old adage, "Don't do the crime if you aren't willing to take the punishment."

There were travel advisories put out by both Governments. It's not like they had no way to check on the laws there.

Zero sympathy. They should’ve have checked their luggage thoroughly BEFORE packing for their trip. Furthermore, TSA should’ve stopped them in America! The situation they’re in is of their own making.

Zero sympathy for an honest mistake that hurt no one but for which they face up to 12 years in prison? From where did you get this pathetic vindictiveness?

This is stupid they know the rules and should check luggage before taking it. I don’t feel sorry because the State told them that Turks And Caicos. It hard to believe the other guy claim he used luggage to go hunting lol

Did you all suddenly have amnesia? The same thing happened to BRITTNEY GRINER. She forgot her prescription products in her bag. Social media went crazy calling her names. Have you forgotten that this can happen to someone else?
That why Jesus-Christ said in Matthew7.1-2
I hope that this gentleman was not one of the people who commented on BRITTNEY GRINER. If this is the case, ask forgiveness to GOD, because GOD watches over His Word to accomplish it.

The vindictiveness in these comments is really something. Every one of you hypocrites would plead for mercy if you were facing a draconian punishment for an honest oversight which neither harmed nor endangered anyone.
